PLANT
DESCRIPTION
SUPER PLUS PUBBLIC is a wastewater treatment plant suitable for small public premises such as restaurants,
hotels, coffee shops not served by the main sewer.
This system is specifically designed for buildings or civil dwellings where black waters and grey waters are
separate.
PRE-TREATMENT The first to tanks of the Three-Chamber Septic system are collecting gray waters and black
waters inlets coming in two separate lines. The tank collecting gray water is utilized for the
removal of settleable organic and inorganic solids by sedimentation, and separation of
floating materials.
The second tank receives black waters from bathrooms while the third tank is used as an
equalization chamber to equalize the hydraulic load. A sewage submersible pump is
installed inside the Equalization Chamber and regulated by flow switches, ensures that the
influent is transferred to the activated sludge plant with a steady flow throughout the day.
All three elements of this septic system are made of HD rotomoulded polyethylene and
each of them has a screw-on cover for inspection.
ACTIVATED Secondary treatment is designed to substantially degrade the biological content of the
SLUDGE TREAMENT sewage. SUPER PLUS is a package activated sludge plant to treat the settled sewage liquor
using aerobic biological processes. The depuration is performed in a multi-stage process
whose phases of: biological oxidation, sedimentation, digestion and disinfection.
The biological oxidation phase occurs in presence of aerobic bacteria and protozoa which
consume biodegradable soluble organic contaminants and bind much of the less soluble
fractions into floc particles.

INSTALLATION EXCAVATION Dig a hole of appropriate dimensions. The bottom of the excavation must be leveled and
compacted with a 10 cm layer of fine sand (grain size 0-5 mm).
BACKFILLING Fill the tank with clean water before backfilling to avoid collapse of the polyethylene
structure during backfilling. Once the tank is full, dump sand around the tank and level it.
For a walk-on solution build a 5 cm thick light concrete layer on top of the tank and finish
with a 40 cm thick soil.
For a drive-on solution a reinforced concrete slab is required to protect the tank.
Accessible manholes are required for inspection and maintenance.
PIPING AND Connections between the components of the plant are made utilizing PVC pipes and fittings.
FITTINGS Connect the gray water outlet to the first compartment of the Three-Chamber Septic Tank and the
black water outlet to the second compartment.
Connect the third compartment to the inlet pipe of SUPER PLUS and install the treated water
discharge line.
An inspection chamber situated downstream of the plant is recommended for any inspection or
maintenance works.
ELECTRICAL The electrical equipment of this plant operates with 220 Volts power supply

START UP &
MAINTENANCE COMMISSIONING After completion of installation, check that the pump, the air blower and diffuser are
working correctly. To accelerate the plant start up place the lyophilized bacteria kit in the
oxidation area and a chlorine tablet in the compartment situated in the outlet pipe.
MAINTENANCE Periodically verify that no large bodies obstruct the sewage inlet or outlet by opening the inspection
ports and that the grease and sludge is not lower than the outlet pipe. Make sure there is no sludge
stagnation in the settling tank or anaerobic processes might occur. Every three months insert a
chlorine tablet in the appropriate place in the outlet pipework. Excess sludge must be removed from
the tank every six month using a company which specializes in this work.
At least once a year, check that the electro-mechanical parts are in good working order.
