Aurelias Belle, owned by James Miller, won the Bourbonette Oaks (GIII) in her most recent start. Gary and Mary Wests Room Service was a dead-heat winner in the Ashland (GI). Kentucky Derby/Kentucky Oaks Update Tuesday, April 22, 2014 Page 3 of 5 RIA ANTONIA (No. 10) Christopher Dunn and Loooch Racing Stables Ria Antonia galloped 1 miles under exercise rider Jorge Alvarez after the renovation break Tuesday morning. Tuesdays exercise was the first at the track for the Bob Baffert trainee who arrived at Churchill Downs Monday afternoon from her base in Southern California. KISS MOON (No. 11) Carl Pollards Kiss Moon exited a fiveeighths work of Monday in good order and walked the shedrow Tuesday morning according to Trisha Vance, assistant to her father David Vance. FIFTYSHADESOFGOLD (No. 12) The Estate of Clarence Scharbauer Jr.s Fiftyshadesofgold galloped before the morning renovation break under exercise rider Sara Escudero. Trained by Bret Calhoun, Fiftyshadesofgold also has the $175,000-added Eight Belles (GIII) to be run May 2 as a possible target. We havent named a rider because we are waiting to see if she goes in the Oaks or the Eight Belles, said Tom Morgan, assistant to Calhoun. Fiftyshadesofgold is scheduled to work Friday. UNBRIDLED FOREVER (No. 13) Charles Fipkes Unbridled Forever, galloped after the renovation break under exercise rider Pedro Velez for trainer Dallas Stewart. SWEET REASON (No. 14) With the withdrawal of Euphrosyne from Kentucky Oaks (GI) consideration, Treadway Racing Stables Sweet Reason moved to No. 14 on the Road to the Kentucky Oaks leaderboard and a spot in the May 2 starting gate. I am going to discuss it with the owners, trainer Leah Gyarmati said of the filly who is at Belmont Park. We will see how shes doing and what her options are. Sweet Reason finished third behind Oaks candidates My Miss Sophia and Got Lucky in the Gazelle (GII) in her most recent start April 5. She has had one work since that race, a three-furlong breeze on April 18. She may better going one turn and there are races like the Acorn (GI) and Test (GI) coming up, Gyarmati said. She has had excuses every time she has gone two turns. There was no pace in the last race and in the Breeders Cup, she was too far back early and moved too soon and flattened out. If you are finding too many excuses for races, maybe you are not running in the right spots. I think (the Oaks) is a better setup and there should be no pace issues there. THANK YOU MARYLOU (No. 15) Ken and Sarah Ramseys Thank You Marylou, third in the Ashland (GI) at Keeneland on April 5 in her most recent start, galloped at the nearby Trackside Training Center for trainer Mike Maker with Joel Barrientos up. Thank You Marylou vanned to Churchill Downs late Tuesday morning. EMPRESS OF MIDWAY (No. 16) Daniel Kramers Empress of Midway, who arrived here Monday from Southern California, jogged after the morning renovation break under Humberto Gomez. Trained by Doug ONeill, Empress of Midway is scheduled to work Friday in preparation for the Eight Belles. However, according to ONeill assistant Jack Sisterson, the filly would go in the Oaks if she made it into the race that is limited to 14 starters. Empress of Midway finished in a dead heat for second in the Sunland Park Oaks in her most recent start.
SHES A TIGER Eclipse Award winner Shes a Tiger jogged on the main track here Tuesday morning after the renovation break under Antonio Gutierrez for trainer Jeff Bonde. The filly is being pointed to the May 2 Eight Belles (GIII). That has been the plan all along to run in the Eight Belles and then the Acorn (GI), Bonde said. She has not run for five months and I have no interest in running a mile and an eighth first out.
