1-5 January 2010 PDA was founded with the aim of promoting family planning
among the rural populations of Thailand. Since then, PDA has
expanded its program areas to include the environment, rural
development, and education. PDA manages the Hilltribe Museum
and Education Center, which aims to educate travelers about the
fast disappearing hilltribe culture, and the Cabbages & Condoms
restaurant, which serves excellent Thai food and promotes the
use of condoms in a fun and amusing manner.

Mirror Art Group operates a number of projects working with
hilltribe peoples to combat unemployment, poverty, drug
addiction and lack of Thai citizenship. Mirror works closely with
the hilltribe peoples of Mae Yao sub-district by providing them
with skills, education, and support so that they may adapt to a
co-existence with lowland Thais without sacrificing their cultural
identity. Mirror also welcomes volunteers and interns throughout
the year in a variety of teaching, fund-raising, advocacy programs.

DTDP is a sustainable development initiative established by the
Thai Royal family, designed to tackle poverty and environmental
degradation caused by years of opium cultivation. As part of its

Paul Bottrill
Founder & Managing Director, Sowers Exchange
Paul has spent twenty years in Hong Kong working in various capacities within the social, religious, and travel
sector. He has worked extensively with the marginalized and under-resourced throughout the developing world,
in places such as the Philippines, India, Malawi, Thailand, Cambodia, and throughout China. His passion is to see
immediate and long-term improvements in the livelihoods of those living in the developing world and an ongoing
exchange of knowledge, experience and resources between people from differing cultures and socio-economic
backgrounds. Paul is fluent in English and Cantonese.
