IPhone Addiction Smartphones are playing an important role in o r e!eryday li!es as the ma"e life easier and more con!enient. Smartphones had gained pop larity all o!er the #orld in the past fe# years. $ith the h ge de!elopment of technology% Smartphones is o!erta"ing o r daily li!es e!ery passing day. It&s not ' st an ob'ect% it&s a phone% comp ter% tablet% or for many% a best friend. (his e)plains #hy some people get agitated #hen they don&t ha!e their Smartphones. I someho# feel panic"ed #hen I reali*e that I left my iPhone at home% e!en for a short time. And that&s #hat made me #ondering #hether there is a specific ne rological f nction for this% and I fo nd o t in one of my so rces that these reactions are common% especially among teenagers% and clear e!idence that Smartphones ha!e ta"en o!er o r daily li!es.

dining o t #ith family or friends% there is al#ays that person #ho is so attached to his phone. In some co ntries li"e Sa di Arabia% sing iPhones started as a fad among teenagers #hich led s to do things that #e ne!er imagined% and then it started to infl ence on o r #ay of li!ing and comm nicating. I ha!e ne!er tho ght I #o ld access any #ebsite to get any information I #ant from my phone no matter #here I am. Since I mo!ed to the .nited States% I #asn&t really s rprise that people are really attached to their phones. Social /orms Smartphones0 -as it made s more sociable or it is the other #ay aro nd1 I feel li"e social media has ta"en o!er o r social life. 2 r con!ersations become shorter and most of the information that #e sed to tal" abo t co ld be fo nd online in o r social net#or" pages s ch as o r schools% ma'ors% #here #e li!e or #or"% o r date of birth% and fa!orite acti!ities. $hen I go o t to eat dinner #ith my friends% #e sed to disc ss o r orders% b t no# #e ' st google p abo t the dish and see ho# it loo"s instead of as"ing one of the gro p or the #aitress. I feel li"e social media has desensiti*e s so m ch as generation% #e ha!e tro ble ta"ing complements no#adays nless it&s left on Instgram comment% (#itter% or 3aceboo". My 14th birthday #asn&t as I #as e)pecting it to be #hen I #as yo nger% I sed to ha!e a birthday parties #ith gifts% food% ca"es and most importantly my best friends. -o#e!er% in my 14th birthday% I stayed at home st dying and chec"ing my iPhone e!ery 5 min tes beca se I #as recei!ing birthday #ishes posts in my 3aceboo" page% and belie!e it or not I co ldn&t be m ch happier. People start to be disrespectf l sometimes #itho t noticing that beca se they are too b sy sing their phones. My roommate sed to do the same thing% tal"ing to me #hile te)ting at the same time and that #as !ery annoying beca se he pretend to be listening to me #hile I&m tal"ing and he tho ght that he co ld m ltitas"% b t #hen he&s done he #o ld simply say 7I&m sorry #hat #ere yo saying1: I thin" tal"ing to someone #hile te)ting another is r de and rather ignorant beca se yo are concentrated on #hat yo are typing or recei!ing and miss pretty m ch of #hat is said to yo at the same time. And for those #ho can m ltitas"% I #o ld say it #o ld still be r de beca se the brain can only f nction on one thing at the time% so it is rather concentrate on one thing at the time% or thin" of another.

Smartphones And Ed cation Is it affecting o r ed cation significantly1 6oes it affect it for better or #orse1 (echnology has become a significant part of o r li!es as st dents% #e se smartphones% tablets% or comp ters all the time to do the assignments. In .nited States today% Ed#ard ;raham stated 7/ot e!ery classroom can get a laptop e!ery day% so de!ices li"e smartphones% e!en if yo ha!e to pair p% become something sef l for teachers.: (here are st dies that sho#s that abo t 5< percent of st dents from 19 to 1, years o#ned smartphones. -o#e!er% almost all teachers and professor are completely disagree #ith idea of sing smartphones inside the classroom. Allo#ing smartphones inside the classroom co ld be a h ge mista"e beca se of the h ge addiction that most st dents ha!e to their phones #hich lead to a #rong sage of it as an ed cational tool. As I e)plore in the internet% I fo nd o t some statistics from Stanford .ni!ersity

that abo t 44 percents of the st dents claim to be !ery addicted to their smartphones. 6amian (hompson stated that 7the smartphones ha!e become part of these st dents& identities and social frame#or"s.: Smartphones ha!e gotten o t of hand beca se the st dents #on&t do the class #or" #hen they are b sy sing their phones. I personally do and see many st dents in different classes s rfing the internet% te)ting% or getting on 3aceboo" d ring lect res. Altho gh there are many negati!e aspects of sing smartphones d ring lect res% b t there are many beneficial aspects that are affect o r ed cation to the better. Many st dents te)t d ring lect re and some of them playing #ith their phones% b t they can se it inside the classroom as a methods of teaching. (hese methods can help st dents arrange their time% recei!ing te)t messages as a reminder for their pcoming e)ams or assignments. In fact% there are many st dies that sho#s that many st dents don&t do their home#or" beca se they #ere norgani*ed #hich lead them to forget their assignments% b t #ith this great apps that their smartphones pro!ide and the methods that co ld be sed% they can stay ahead and "no# abo t their pcoming assignments. 2nce I #as st c" at home beca se of a sno# storm% and I had to #rite a paper b t I had no access to my comp ter. (herefore% I sed my iPhone to #rite a fi!e pages paper. I really had no problem typing all that pages #ith my iPhone beca se I felt li"e I&m sing my comp ter b t I #as more faster #hen I sed my iPhone. In concl sion% smartphones are significantly changing o r li!es% and the impro!ement of them has both positi!e and negati!e impacts on o r society. And I ha!e learned that those positi!es impacts are becoming a part of o r daily life beca se it ma"es it more simpler and more con!enient. Altho gh those negati!e impacts seem e)tremely bad% b t #e can cope #ith them. Many people thin" that smartphones and te)ting are destroying o r comm nication% b t this

co ld be easily handled by ha!ing some times #ith family or friends #itho t smartphones. (he only thing I fear of is that o r p blic life is t rning so fast into a pri!ate life. Most people #o ld say that they prefer to read an e=boo"% te)ting% or listening to m sic #hile ta"ing one of p blic transportations instead of tal"ing to strangers. I #o ld personally agree #ith them beca se I do the same thing. $e are as generation se smartphones on daily basis and for many p rposes beca se they become a part of o r identities.
