Software Installation
1. To install UCT Box software, you need to copy the latest setup file from dvd or
download from support area.
2. Run the setup file, follow the setup instructions and complete the procedure.
3. After installing setup, you need to install the drivers. Go to "Start" Menu, "All
Programs", "UCT Team", "Install UCT Box Drivers".
This will auto-install the drivers for UCT Box.
Now connect the UCT Box to your computers USB port. The computer with install
the drivers
automatically, but if in any case it cannot, then you can specify the location for the
drivers inside "C:\UCT\UCT Drivers\".

Connecting the UCT Box and the Phone
1. Connect the UCT Box to PC USB Port
2. Your computer will ask for box drivers. Drivers can be found inside your
UCT Installation folder C:\UCT\UCT Drivers and also are located in
DVD supplied with UCT in folder UCT Drivers.
3. Connect Main Cable to the "24-Pin Intelligent connector" from the side
where power leads are coming out.
4. Connect the corresponding connector to the main cable.
5. Connect the Power leads to the phone battery connector & the PCB
connector to the phone socket.

Checking UCT Box Com Port Number:
1. Right Click on My Computer and then select Properties, after
thick click on Hardware tab and then press Device Manager. Here
you can see information about all the devices you have connected with
your computer.
2. Now go to the Ports (Com & LPT) and here you will see USB Serial
Port (COMxx), here xx is your Com port number.

Read Info: This is used to read handset information, like:
# Mobile Software Project ID
# CPU Type
# Flash Type & Size
Read Flash: Read full backup flash file of the handset
Write Flash: Flash the handset with the provided flash file
Format: Reset the handset to Full factory settings, Unlock, Repair
Blink
Tracker: Read Unlock code, Repair Touchscreen, Repair IMEI, Repair
Bluetooth, Edit PhoneBook
IMEI: Repair IMEI of handset
Decryption: Fix and repair Bad Software problems
NV: NV-RAM Editor for MTK (Advanced Users)
Port: Select Comm Port number of the UCT Box (check the comm
port your UCT is installed using the device manager)
Baud: Select the baudrate to communicate with the handset (Slower
is better)
Auto Sense: Auto-Find the Pinouts of the handset on every
operation if selected (you can uncheck this if you are working on 1
type handset only, means no need to find pinout everytime)
Connect: Connect the UCT Box using the specified comm port
number.

Operations for MTK Handsets:
Read Info from MTK Handset:
1. Go to MTK Tab, select ReadInfo, select Baud as 921600,
check Auto-Sense and press Start.
2. As soon as you press start, keep & hold pressing the Power
ON button on the handset. Leave the power on button after
red bar is at 100%.
3. After process is done you can see all information at the bottom.

Format / Reset Phone for MTK Handset:
1. Take IMEI, Touch screen Calibration & Full backup of handset
using the Tracker for safety.
2. Go to MTK Tab, select Format, check Auto Format, check
Auto-Sense and press Start.
3. As soon as you press start, keep & hold pressing the Power ON
button on the handset. Leave the power on button after red bar is
at 100%.
4. After green bar go 100% your phone is format and ready. You can
now repair the IMEI from Tracker Option.

IMEI Repair on MTK Handset: (Method 1)
1. Go to MTK Tab, select IMEI, select META or AT (try META
if AT not works for you)
2. Enter the new and correct 15 digit IMEI of the handset in the IMEI
1 block, if handset is dual sim and you need to fix the second IMEI
also, then enter the second IMEI in the IMEI 2 block. Press Start
button on the handset. Leave the power on button after the
operation is done.
Your handset is now fixed with new IMEI. If you get any error in this
procedure then try to first format the handset and then again try
to fix IMEI.
If still have error then you can fix the IMEI using method 2 using the
tracker Option.

IMEI Repair on MTK Handset using Tracker: (method 2)
1. Go to MTK Tab, select Tracker, check Auto-Sense and press
Start.
button on the handset. Leave the power on button after red bar is at
100%.
3. Now you can see the MNR Tracker window. Here go to IMEI Tab &
fill in the correct IMEI of the handset in IMEI 1. If your handset is dual
sim and dual IMEI, then enter the second IMEI in the IMEI 2 box.
Check Modify & Auto checksum and then press Write.
4. After bar goes 100% close the window. IMEI has now been repaired on
your handset.

Touch Screen Calibration Bypass on MTK Handset:
1. Go to MTK Tab, select Tracker, check Auto-Sense and press
Start.
100%.
3. Now you can see the MNR Tracker window. Here go to Restore
Settings tab, check TouchScreen calibration data & then press
Restore.
4. Software will now ask location for file, load the file UCT_Touch.cci
which is available inside TouchScreen Data folder.
5. After bar goes 100% a warning will come, press OK and close the
window. Touch Screen Calibration Bypass has been done.

Reading Full Flash / Full Backup of MTK Handset:
1. Go to MTK Tab, select Readback, press and select the
location and filename of the readback file. Then check Auto-Sense
and press Start.

3. Software will now read the flash file and save it to the specified
location automatically.
Writing Full Flash / Full Restore of MTK Handset:
2. Go to MTK Tab, select Download, press and select the
location and filename of the file to write to the phone. Then check
Auto-Sense and press Start.

How to solve error: "ProjectID Not Found
Some MTK CPU based handsets show error "ProjectID Not Found" when
tried to connect or read info. This is usually found in CPU ID 6235 based
handsets or we can say is found in handsets which have "NAND" memory
inside. To fix this, please follow:
1. Select "MTK" Tab, "select desired operation.
2. In Options, select Mode as "NAND" and Boot version as Ver3.952"
3. Now press "Start", all should go smooth and normal.
If you are still not able to connect the handset, then you can try with
different versions.

Difference Between SpreadTrum & MTK handsets
Most of the handsets available in market are based on MTK CPU. The
other most important CPU available in market after MTK is SpreadTrum
CPU. These CPU are totally different in working and in repairing procedure.
Unlike MTK, these can only be repaired by USB connectivity. which is why
pinout finding procedure is totally different and unique for them.
SpreadTrum (SPD) Handsets:
About Different Boot Mode:
SpreadTrum CPU have different boot mode according to there CPU
Type. Which is why it is important to select the correct boot mode for
proper connectivity with the software. It might be posible that you can read
info and flash with wrong selection, but for write flash need to select
correct boot mode.
Correct Steps to connect a SpreadTrum based handset:
1. First you need to ReadInfo of the handset. If you don't know the CPU
boot type then you can try Auto-USB, Auto-COM, 6600L-USB
or 6600L-COM one-by-one.
2. After you have read the information of the handset, you can read in it
that which type is the CPU and flash memory of the handset.
Example: CPU: SC6600E-xxxx Flash: NAND_xxxx
Here the CPU type is 6600E and the memory type in NAND, so in this
case you need to select the option 6600M/E/I-NAND and then
proceed further.
3. After you have selected the correct CPU type in the options, now you
can start with Format, Read Flash, Write Flash, Repair IMEI, etc.

Read Info from SpreadTrum (SPD) Handset:
1. Go to SpreadTrum tab, select ReadInfo, select option according
to CPU type, check Auto-Sense & Press Start.
2. Now you don't need to power on the phone in SPD handsets. It will
automatically start sensing the pinouts. After finding the pinouts the
phone will ask for usb drivers. SPD drivers are located under folder
SpreadTrum_USB_Driver. If you have already installed the drivers
then system will not ask for drivers next time.
3. After installing drivers, software will connect to your SpreadTrum
handset and will read information which will be displayed on the
bottom.

Read Flash for SpreadTrum (SPD) Handsets:
1. Go to SpreadTrum tab, select Read Flash, select flash file path.
2. Select the CPU type from the drop down list in the Options. (You
can detect your CPU type by reading info or by opening the handset)
3. Check Auto-Sense & Press Start.

1. Take full backup of the handset using Readback feature for safety.
2. Go to SpreadTrum tab, select Format, select option for CPU boot
type, check Auto Format, check Auto-Sense & Press Start.
4. As soon as drivers installed, software will format the handset in few
seconds.

Repair IMEI on SpreadTrum (SPD) Handsets:
1. Take full backup of handset using the Readback feature.
2. Go to SpreadTrum tab, select IMEI, enter the new IMEI in New
IMEI Code box and the existing IMEI in the handset in Original
IMEI box.
3. Select the readed flash file in step 1 in the file location and then press
Start.
4. Now a new file has been created in the same folder with new name
ending with new IMEI. Just flash this new file to the handset using the
Download feature.
5. Your phone now has the new and repaired IMEI.

Write Flash for SpreadTrum (SPD) Handsets:
1. Go to SpreadTrum tab, select Write Flash, select the Flash file to
be flashed.
2. Select the CPU type from the drop down list in the Options. (You
can detect your CPU type by reading info or by opening the handset)
3. Check Auto-Sense & Press Start.
5. As soon as drivers are installed, software will start flashing the
handset.

MStar CPU Handsets:
To connect MStar PCU handsets you will need USB drivers for these
phones. These USB drivers can be download now from UCT Box support
area.
1. First u need to read information of the handset. Go to MStar tab,
select ReadInfo, select option according to CPU type. If you don't
know the CPU boot type then you can try "B1" and "B2" one-by-one.
2. Press Start.
3. Now you don't need to power on the phone in MStar handsets. It will
automatically start sensing the pinouts. After finding the pinouts the
phone will ask for usb drivers. MStar USB drivers are located under
folder MStar_USB_Driver or can download from support area. If
you have already installed the drivers then system will not ask for
drivers next time.
4. After installing drivers, software will connect to your MStar handset
and will read information which will be displayed on the bottom.
5. You can now read in it that which type is the CPU and flash memory of
the handset and then proceed further by selecting appropriate in the
options.
6. After you have selected the correct CPU type in the options, now you
can start with Read Flash, Write Flash, Read Security Code, etc.

How to Read Security Code in MStar Phones:
UCT Box can read the security code from MStar based phones, but for
this you first need to read the flash file and read the security code using the
flash file.
1. Read the full flash file of the handset by using the Read Flash feature
and save it to your hard disc.
2. Now select Read SecCode in file and select the readed flash file.
3. Press Start and UCT software will find and read out the codes in the
handset.
Infineon Handsets: Writing Flash
1. Go to Infineon Tab, select Write Flash & click the ... to select the
flash file to write to the phone.
2. After specifying the location and filename, select Baud as 921600,
check Auto-Sense and press Start.

4. After process is done your phone is flashed with the new firmware.

Erasing Full Flash of Chinese Handsets:
Q. First, most important, why do we need to full erase?
A. Sometimes writting flash files to chinese phones is a big problem.
Even if u get everything ok, it might still give error at some
percentage. Sometimes stuck at 10%, sometimes stuck at 15%. As
per my personal experience, Full erasing has always been useful
before flashing in such problems. Either that be chinese phones or
be nukia phones :)
Step-by-Step Guide on how to erase full flash of your Chinese
handset:
1. Read the Information of the handset (Also read full flash backup of
handset in case u need it in future)
2. At the bottom of the information read, you can notice how much
size is your flash chip. like in our example SpreadTrum handset, its
64mb
3. Now select "Format", Uncheck "Auto Format"
4. Enter the hex size "0x04000000" in the "Size" field,
(Leave the Start field as it is)
5. Press Start and your phone will be full erased in few seconds.
Now most important is to put correct size for formatting.
Depending on your flash size you need to enter the correct format
size, the details are as follows:
* If your Flash is 4mb, then enter format size = 0x00400000 for Full Erase

UpGrading UCT Box Firmware:
Q. Why do we need to upgrade the firmware of the UCT Box?
A. All the commands for Automatic Pinout Finding are stored inside
the UCT Box itself. Means the box is intelligent on its own to scan
the pinouts and define them. Now these commands are often
updated with new and faster routines, or maybe added support for
new type CPU or also can be due to minor improvements. Thus, the
latest version inside the UCT Box ensures faster and proper
working.
Step-by-Step Guide on how to UpGrade the firmware inside
UCT Box:
1. To Update the Box Firmware, download the latest setup from the
support area and install it.
2. Go to "Start", "All Programs", "UCT Team". Open the "UCT
Firmware Update x.xx". (If you dont have icons in your programs
menu, then u can go to "C:\UCT|\UCT Firmware Update" folder
and start from there)
3. Press "ScanPort" and then select the box comm port in the "Setup
Port" list.
4. Now press "UpGrade-BOX". If all is well then your box will be
upgraded with latest firmware in few seconds.
Important:
* Please make sure that you have not connected any handset when the
UCT Box is being upgraded.
* Dont power off the PC or diconnect box while the Box is being
upgraded.
* Even if something goes wrong, then let the upgrade bar complete and
then try again to upgrade.

Solving the Conjunction Box Error Problem
while upgrading UCT Box:
You may get "Conjunction Box Error" error while upgrading the
firmware of your UCT Box. This can be due to many reasons. Can be due
to incomplete upgrade of firmware, bad voltage spikes can corrupt the
firmware inside UCT Box, can be due to some bugs too. But this can be
solved easy with the UCT Box Fiwmare UpGrade Utility.
Step-by-Step guide on how to fix Conjunction Box Error when
UpGrade the firmware inside UCT Box:
1. Disconnect UCT Box from USB, connect the main cable to UCT
Box.
2. Now short the "+" and "-" wires of the main cable
3. Connect computer with USB to UCT Box.
4. Open the latest Update software for UCT Box. Press "ScanPort",
Select your UCT Box comm port number, tick the "Exigency
UpGrade" and press "UpGrade-BOX"
All should be ok now. If still any problem, then try repeat this
procedure 2-3 times. If still not help, then your box have a hardware
problem, please contact your reseller.
Important:
* Please make sure that you have not connected any handset when the
UCT Box is being upgraded.
* Dont power off the PC or diconnect box while the Box is being
upgraded.

Trouble-Shooting
Q. After formatting the phone, the Touch Screen asks for
Calibration, but the touchscreen is not working. How to
use the phone now?
A. It is always better to take backup of Touchscreen calibration settings
using the tracker in the MTK module. Connect the phone in tracker
mode, go to Restore Settings tab, select TouchScreen calibration data
and then press Export. Now same the settings file somewhere safe. You
can now flash or format the phone and after that write back the
calibration settings file.
Q. UCT is not able to find pinout of the phone and says
Sense failure
A. If UCT is not able to sense the pinouts of the phone then it is possible
that the phone has some other CPU inside other than that selected.
Please try with different CPU. But Mostly apprx 90% phones found in
Indian market are MTK & SpreadTrum based.
Q. How to solve Error:
FAILED TO SET MTK_SYNC_CMD, CMD=0XC0
A. Change baudrate to 115200 and try again.
Q. Can I upgrade UCT Box? How?
A. Yes, You can upgrade the firmware inside the UCT Box. Just download
the latest software setup from support area and install it. Inside every
installer in available the firmware upgrade utility UCT Firmware
Update. Just open it, press ScanPort, select the com port number of
your UCT Box and press UpGrade-BOX. your box will be upgraded to
latest version and ready to use with latest setup exe.
Trouble-Shooting
Q. Not able to connect MTK handsets with CPU ID 6235.
A. For handsets based on MTK CPU ID 6235 or based on NAND
memory, you need to select Flash Type as "NAND". After this connect
handset and all should be ok. If still have any problem, you can try with
different Boot versions too.
Q. Not able to connect & find pinout for SpreadTurm
based handset. Failed to RXD
A. As explained, it is very important to select correct Flash type and Boot
type for SPD handsets. If you don't know which CPU your handset have,
then u can try all one-by-one. After u get Read-Info, you can see exactly
which Flash and CPU it has and then select accordingly. Now you can
Read Flash, Write Flash, Format, Unlock, etc.
Q. Can we fix 2nd IMEI on SpreadTurm handsets which have
Dual Sim features? Means can we fix 2nd IMEI on SPD
Handsets?
A. Yes, 2nd IMEI of the handset can also be fixed for SpreadTrum handsets
by UCT Box very easily.
1. Read Full Flash Backup of the handset. for eg. old.bin
2. Now change the 1st IMEI of this flash file old.bin just as you do for a
simple SpreadTrum handset. Save this new file as IMEI_1.bin
3. Now again select the file IMEI_1.bin and change the 2nd IMEI of this
flash file, you just need to enter the 2nd IMEI of the flash file in the
Original field this time. Now save this new file as IMEI_2.bin
4. You can now flash this file to your handset which will write both new
IMEI.
Means, all procedure is same, just that we have to change both the IMEI
inside the flash file 1-by-1 and then flash it to the handset.

Trouble-Shooting
Q. How can I know which CPU my phone has? Is it a MTK or
a SpreadTrum?
A. You can find this out using any of the 3 methods:
1. Open the phone and look for the CPU. If its MTK then MT or MTK will
be written on the IC, if it's a SpreadTrum then SPD or SpreadTrum will be
written on the IC.
2. Second way to check is to power on the handset, type *#66#, this will
show you the Engineering mode. Here you can check about the CPU
details.
3. Another way to check is by a power supply. Remove battery from
handset, give power to handset with external power supply. Now as soon
as you give power, if the ampere meter shows some change in reading
means it is a SpreadTrum based handset. But if it does not consumes any
power, means no activity at the ampere meter, means it's a MTK CPU
based handset.
Q. I have disabled my Anti-Virus or added UCT to
exclusion, but can you please explain why the Anti-Virus
softwares detect UCT files as a threat?
A. If you will notice, important thing is that the Anit-Virus softwares gives
a threat to UCT software files as a malware and not a virus. The difference
between malware and virus is that a virus is something which is designed
to cause harm to the pc, but on the other hand malware is something
which is working secretly which the PC or the Anit-Virus software are
not able to understand. Now these malware are also blocked by Anti-
Virus softwares because these applications are not understood by them.
Now UCT files are such designed that the PC or the Anti-Virus softwares
are not able to understand the data inside and thus threatened as
malware.
Using UCT Box as Pin-Finder for Infinity or Any
other Software
You can use UCT Box as a Pin-Finding hardware for any other software in the
market. Means you can find the pinouts of a handset with UCT Box, but flash
or format it using some other software you have. This can be done for all the
supported CPU types.
1. Connect the handset to the UCT Box as you do usually, Open the UCT
Software and read info for it as you do normally.
2. Now you can just open the other software you want to use and start doing
operations on it.
You can also remove cable from phone, put it back again. Or you can also
remove the phone power cable and use battery as you do normally for other
gsm handsets. All that is important is that USB power cable from the UCT
Box should not be removed.

Problem Description:
Initializing...
DA_LIB_VER_3.2.0.7
It is sensing the pinout fast,please hold on the phone Power key
RXD=6 TXD=7
Connecting...Please hold on the POWER key until the red gauge is going...
Failed to read HardCode, REG=0x80000008
Error: Failed to read REG=0x80010008
Reason:
Bad Flash IC or Bad Cable
Solution:
1. Can try to change cable, try with slower baudrate and try few times.
2. Rehot the flash IC and try again. if still not then need replace flash IC.

Flashing stops at different percentage everytime. Means first try it stop at 30%, next time
it stop at 35%, then 10% and so and so.
Reason:
This can be due to:
1. Bad Flash Chip
2. Low power to handset
3. Bad data inside Flash Chip
Solution:
First i suggest to try with slow baudrate, try flash with slow baudrate. if this not success
then better erase the complete flash chip and then try again. This should sure help if its
not a hardware fault.
If it still not helps, means can be hardware problem too, in this case you can reflow the
Flash IC or replace if necesarry.
Trouble-Shooting
Not able to work correctly on MTK CPU ID 6217.
Reason:
Unsupported Boot type
Solution:
You need to use supported boot type for this CPU ID. Just select "Boot 3.848" and it
should work ok.

"SPD USB TO SERIAL NOT FOUND"
Reason:
The drivers are not installed for SpreadTrum USB communication
Solution:
You need to install the USB drivers for SpreadTrum. when UCT box has finished finding
the pinouts for spreadturm handset, it will ask for SPD drivers, these drivers can be
found inside folder: "C:\UCT\UCT\SpreadTrum_USB_Drivers\" just need to install
them and then UCT can start working your handset.
If in case the computer not asks for any drivers after pinfinding, then you need to un-
install the bad drivers from your device manager and then again re-install the supplied
drivers.

"Failed to format Flash"
Reason:
Cannot format the flash for older type handsets, cause they not support new boot type.
Solution:
Just try different boot types and it should be ok. Some boot can work for some handsets.
This is why it is not important that the latest boot will always work for all handsets. it can
be also that only old boot type will work for some particular handsets.

Error "Project ID not found" while connecting the handset
Reason:
UCT Software is not able to find the project id inside the handset flash, project id is the
version of the firmware. This can be cause of wrong boot selection, wrong memory type
selection or can be due to empty flash chip or hardware fault.
Solution:
to solve this, first try with different boot type and mode type, try all boot and also try
with "NAND" memeory type as well. if still not works, then flash the handset with good
flash file. if not able to flash, means bad flash chip, try reflow or replace.

Spreadturm handsets show "Failed to RXD"
Reason:
This error can be cause of many problems. can be cause of wrong connectivily, bad cable,
wrong boot type
Solution:
Select "6600L-USB" or "6600L-USB" in options and try again

Error: Unsaft EFS Address, Please input the right format address and try again.
Failed to auto format.
Reason:
UCT Software is not able to recognise the flash addresses inside handset
Solution:
Try to do "Reset", If this not helps then only way to fix this is by flashing handset with
correct flash file, if u dont have a flash file then u need to arrange a similar handset, read
the flash from it and then flash it to your faulty handset.
Trouble-Shooting
Read Info, Read Flash working fine for SPD handset, but format anf write flash not
working properly.
Reason:
you are not sellecting the correct option type according to cpu id and flash id.
Solution:
Make readInfo of the handset, here in information you will see the CPU type and the flash
type of the handset, for eg. CPU: 6600xxxxxxxxx Flash: NOR.
Now in this case, you need to select the option "6600L-USB" and then proceed.
Means it is very important to select the correct options, otherwise format, write flash
will not work properly. for details, better read complete guide for SpreadTrum phones.

Reason:
Bad CRC checksum inside the flash of handset. this is due to bugs inside handset
firmware
Solution:
You need to format the handset first before any other operation.

The File System is not found by software
Solution:
Only way to solve this is by flashing the handset with correct flash file, or need to read
flash from a working handset and then flash it to faulty handset.

Reason:
Phone has been tampered with other software or the firmware inside has been
corrupted.
Solution:
You need to look for the Full flash file of this handset and flash to it, If u dont find a flash
file in that case you need to look for a working handset and read flash from it, then flash it
to your dead handset.
Trouble-Shooting
Get error "Invalid IMEI" when trying to repair IMEI for some MTK handsets
Reason:
Some handsets, mostly of CPU 6235 and 6253 have this problem after format. After
format cannot write IMEI and show error Invalid IMEI
Solution:
To solve this you need to flash the handset. There is no other way to solve this problem
for now.
But you can avoid this error by taking NV data backup before formatting the handset.
Just select NV Editor and take full backup of handset before formatting. After format,
write NV data back to handset and then fix IMEI.

How to solve error: FAILED TO RUN BOOTLOADER
Reason:
Communication is stopped in middle with handset and UCT Box
Solution:
Press and hold the power button untill all process is completed, if even this not help then
press and hold * key and keep pressed untill all completed.

How to solve the error: ERROR: MTK_DA_GET_FAT_INFO_NOT_FOUND
Reason:
UCT Software is not able to read the FAT information from the MTK handset, this is
because of un-compatible flash chip or boot type.
Solution:
Try to select Boot "Ver. 3.952" from the options, if even this not works, then try other
options one-by-one.

Problem with Anti-Virus Softwares when
Installing UCT Box
While installing UCT Software Setup, many Ant-Virus softwares detect
the UCT files as virus and deletes them even before installation
completes. Due to which you can get error about missing files while
installtion. Errors like "UCT v1.00.MSI not found".
To solve this problem, there are 2 solutions. One is to easily just disable
your Anti-Virus software and then install the UCT Software. The second
method is to add UCT software files to your software "Trusted List" or
"Exclusions List".
Step-By-Step Instructions on adding UCT Files to Kaspersky
Anti-Virus Exclusions List
1. Open the Anti-Virus main window, click settings, go to "Threats and
exclusions".
2. Now click "Settings" in front of Exclusions.
3. Now you will see the "Trusted zone" window, click "Add", then "Select
Object" and add the following files One-By-One to the list:
DownloadAgentLib.dll
UCT*.*
ET*.*
JtagAgent.dll
ResourceAgent.dll
4. When done, just click "OK" and close the window. Now you can easy
install UCT Software and also work with it without any problem.

UCT Fusion Software
UCT Fusion Software is the latest addition to UCT Box. With Fusion
Software you can now do many extra features with your ET-BoX Plus or
your latest UCT Box. Like: Define Pinouts, Detect CPU Type, PinFind for
MTK 2 CPU handset, Detect the charging pin, Self check the hardware,
Upgrade firmware, etc.
To use the UCT Fusion Software, download the latest setup available
from the support area and install it step-by-step. After installation you can
run it from the Start - All Programs - UCT Team - UCT Fusion.
UCT Self Checking
UCT Fusion Software allows to test the
UCT and ET-Plus hardware for any
technichal problems such as corrupt
firmware, bad voltages, low voltages,
pinfinder problem or any other small
hardware issues.
To Self-Check the UCT hardware:
1. Disconnect the 24 pin main cable and
the handset from UCT Box.
2. Open the latest software for UCT
Fusion.
3. Press the Self-check button in the
side bar.
4. Now a small window for self checking
will pop-up, press Self-check and wait
for the test to complete.
5. After test the software will show you
the results for each and every test.
You can now make screenshot of these
results and send it to your reseller in case
of any problem. This will help in solving
the problem with your UCT hardware if u
have any.

Auto-Detect CPU Type with UCT Fusion
UCT Fusion can automatically detect the CPU type inside the handset.
This operation is very useful when you are not sure which CPU does the
handset have. Most of the handsets in market are either MTK or
SpreadTrum based. These are even distributed in handsets with COM
connectivity or USB connectivity, this is why we suggest you to try to
connect the handset in Auto or USB method.
Steps to Auto-Detect CPU Type with UCT Box:
1. Connect the handset to UCT Box and open the latest version of Fusion
software.
2. Press Scan in the side bar.
3. Select Auto and press Chip Sense
4. Depending on handset, in sometime UCT Fusion will show you the
CPU details with the connectivity pinouts.
Note: In case of failure or no response for long time, you can try select
USB and try again to sense the chip
Find pinouts for CPU 2 in MTK handsets
Some MTK based handsets have 2 CPUs inside them. Now when we find
the pinouts of this type of a handset with a normal procedure, then we are
only able to connect to the first CPU. So we can repair only yhe part of
the handset which the first CPU is related to.
To fix the second CPU of the same handset, we need to find the pinout of
CPU 2 and connect to it. This can now be done with UCT Fusion
Software.
Steps to find pinouts of CPU 2 of MTK handset:
1. Connect the handset to the UCT Box and open the latest version of
the Fusion software.
2. Press Scan from the side bar and select MTK
3. Now press 2nd Definition and after that keep press the power button
on the handset, just like u do for any other MTK based handset.
4. In few seconds the UCT Fusion software will detect the pinouts for 2nd
CPU and define them.
You can now open the UCT Box Software, select MTK, uncheck Auto
Sense and proceed with Flash / Format / IMEI Repair, etc. If you will not
uncheck Auto Sense then UCT Box will again find the 1st CPU pinouts
rather than the 2nd CPU.

Pinout Defining with UCT Fusion
Q. What is the difference between Pin-Find and Pin-Define ?
A. Pin-Find is to find out the pinouts of the handset. Means which pins are
Rx, Tx, Ground, Vcc at the mobile phone connector. Whereas Pin-Define
means to write the Rx, Tx, Ground and Vcc to the defined pins at cable.
Example:
You have a handset, you want to connect it with UCT Box, but you don't
know the pinouts of the handset. Then you need to find the pinouts using
the Pin-Find feature.
On the other side, you have a handset which you want to connect it with
UCT Box and you know the pinouts of this handset. Then you need to
define the handset pinouts to the UCT Box so that you can start working
on it. Here you need to use the Pin-Define feature.
Step-By-Step guide on how to use the Pin-Define feature of
UCT Fusion:
(In this guide we are using an example to define pinouts of Samsung B319
which uses Samsung E210 Combo Cable)
1. Connect the handset with the respective cable (20B) to the UCT Box
and start the UCT Fusion software.
2. Press Definition in the side bar & select Standard Mode.
3. Now according to the Samsung E210 pinouts, we need to define the
ground on the pin-1 and pin-2, therefore click on 1 and select
GND similarly clock on 2 and select GND.
4. You can set all other pins similarly. Rxd, Txd, Vcc, USB D-, USB D+, etc.
5. After you are all done, press Set on the upper right corner. This will
write the command to the UCT Box and pinouts will be defined.
You can now open your ET-Plus Software or any other CDMA software
to service your handset.
