OVERVIEW

ApexafterapexthenewDaytona675inspirescompleteconfidence.Morepower,lighterweight,andeasierto ride,ourengineersambitionwassimple:tocreatethemostperfectlybalancedmotorcycle.Anequalblendof torque,responsiveness,agility,poiseandpurpose.Theresultisabikewithclassdefiningpower,performanceand handling.Abikethatwillinspiretotalconfidence.Andlookseverybitasgood. Theengineisbrandnewfeaturingtwininjectorspercylinder,titaniumvalves,a14,400redline,andaspine tinglinginductionroar.It'sfasteronthetrack,betterontheroadandevenmoresatisfyingtoown.

ENGINE
Internals(injectors,valves)
WithtwininjectorspercylinderthenewDaytonacandrawmorefuelquickerwhenyouopenthethrottlefullyand demandmorefromtheengine. AfirstforaproductionTriumph,wehavenowfittedsubstantiallylightertitaniumvalvestocopebetterwiththe higherrevs.Thisalsomeanslightervalvespringscanbeused,reducingvalvetrainwearandfriction. Wealsoknewthattheweightreductionwasenoughtogiveusthespacetoaddsomemetaltothevalveswithout compromisingthevalvetrain,sothetopofthevalve'mushroom'headswerereshapedtoimprovegasflowaround thevalveandintothecombustionchamber.Thismeansbetterefficiencyandaboostintorqueatlowandmedium revs.

Performance
WebuiltthenewDaytonaenginewithashorterstrokeallowingustoseta500rpmhigherrevceilingat14,400 andweincreasedpowerto128PSandmaximumtorqueto75Nm.Thecylinderblockisnowcastseparatelyfrom theuppercrankcasetocopewithhigherpressures,moretorqueandmorepower. Sothenewenginenowgivesyouhigherpowerforlonger.Bringingevenmoreperformanceoutofthebikeaswell asbringingmoreoftherideroutofyou

Sound
Weenlargedthethroughairflowheadstocksothattheintakemouthispositionedinthehighestpressurezone centrallyatthefrontofthebike.Improvingflowefficiency,sothatairpassesinastraightlinethroughthecentreof theheadstocktotheairbox. Andwhentheairpassesthroughthecentreofthecockpitzone,itgivesyouevenmoreofthatdistinctivethree cylinderintakesnarl.Andit'snotjustthevolumeofthesoundthatsbetter,it'snowthereoveramuchwider rangeofrevsforanevenmorefocussed,involvingridethaneverbefore.

FrontandrearKYBsuspensionis,ofcourse,fullyadjustable.Bothfrontandrearsuspensionhavetheadded advantageofseparatelowandhighspeedcompressiondampingadjustment,makingtheDaytonaasforgivingon theroadasitisfocusedonthetrack.

WheelsandTyres
Somethingassimpleasreducingtheweightofthewheelscanhaveadramaticeffectonhandling.Lighterwheels reduceunsprungmassandminimizethegyroscopiceffectofaspinningwheel.Thismakesiteasiertoturnthebike inandholdalinethroughthecorner.WeveputracederivedPirelliSuperCorsatyresontogiveyouthegripto matchthepotentialleanangles.

FrontForks
ThenewDaytona675isfittedwithnew,stateoftheartKYBcentrefixedcartridgeforksthatuseaninternal dampingcartridgewhichisrigidlylocatedatbothends,ratherthanfloatingatoneendasinconventionaldesigns. Becauseit'ssupportedbythinnerwalls,ithasmoreroomforthedampingpiston,soalargerdiameteronecanbe used,improvingdampingaccuracy.

MassCentralisation
Byrelocatingthesilencertoundertheengine,rapiddirectionchangesarenowmorefluidandmorecontrolled. Riderinputisrewardedwithanincrediblycontrolledresponse. ConcentratingasmuchofthemassofthebikeatthecentrehasincreasedtheDaytona675'sagilityandgrip,so youcanachievehigherleananglesthroughthecorners.Andyoullfindthatthebikenowrespondsevenmore readilytoyourinputthroughthehandlebars.

Frame
ThenewDaytona675frameismadefromeightcastings.Thatmeansfewerweldsandalighterconstructionwith nolossofstrengthorstiffnessforamorefocussedride. Wesharpenedthegeometrywithachangeintherakefrom23.9to22.9andareductionintrailfrom89.1mmto 87.2mm.Andnow,theswingarmpivotpositionisadjustablesoyoucantailorthehandlingmorepreciselytoyour ridingstyleandtheconditions.

Swingarm
The2013Daytona'snewrigidaluminiumswingarmisdesignedasymmetricallytomakeroomfortheimproved exhaustsystem.Youcanstilladjustitspivotandpersonalisethebike'sgeometry,finetuningittosuityourriding styleandconditions.

Brakes
Nissinradialcallipersonthefront,giveamazingstoppingpowerandconfidenceinspiringfeelthroughthelever. TherearBrembocaliperislighterthanbefore,helpingtoreducetheunsprungmass,whichfurtherimproves handlingandagility.

RidingPosition
Wehaveimprovedtheridingpositionbyraisingthebarsslightlyandincludeda10mmreductioninseatheight. Stillafocussedsupersportridingstancedesignedtogetthebestoutofyouintrackconditions.
