Life Technologies has a new opportunity for a Consultant, Financial Analysis for our Carlsbad, CA headquarters.

Life Technologies has an immediate need for a Sr. Finance Manager that will partner with the CSO Office to drive improvements, consistency and best practices in R&D Financial Reporting and Controls across the broader LIFE R&D FP&A team. This will enable an enable a consistent enterprise level view of our portfolio, drive improvements in the quality of valuation, provide regular visibility into our investment and enable consistent performance tracking and feedback loop for future investments.
Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of this position include: Partnering with the broader team to design and implement processes and tools to enable regular expense reporting by project to provide regular visibility into our investments Designing and implementing dashboards and operating mechanisms to provide regular updates on top programs post launch performance versus forecast to enable consistent enterprise performance tracking and feedback loop for future investments Partnering with CSO Office to update R&D IRR analysis Internal and external benchmarking to develop a R&D Finance Playbook Leading financial planning, analysis, reporting and forecasting for the CSO Office OpEx budget Driving continuous improvement and automation of key processes Leading financial modeling and analysis to drive business decisions as needed As a key member of this team, this position must be able to: Possess problem solving skills and be results oriented Interface effectively in a fast paced, dynamic environment with all levels of the organization. Communicate and demonstrate judgment, tact and diplomacy in dealing with internal customers within a matrix organization. Efficiently provide accurate, relevant and timely, information and analysis. Possess initiative, enthusiasm, intellectual curiosity, a positive attitude and ability to perform as a team player. Experience Requirements: - 5 to 7 years of financial planning and analysis experience. Prior experience supporting a R&D organization or business unit a plus. - Prior experience working with financial systems such as Hyperion Essbase, Oracle/SAP ERPs, Cognos tools - Solid verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interpret and summarize financial analysis results in a clear, concise, accurate manner

- Strong project management, process improvement skills, ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment - Attention to detail and consistently delivering a high quality work product

Education Requirements: - Undergraduate degree in Finance or related field. MBA preferred. CMA/CFA a plus
