ROBOT X AND Y CHAINS UPGRADE

Introduction: This procedure details how to upgrade previous Robot X and Y chains cables and tubes to new ones as is commented in INR-0057#0088. X and Y chains upgrade procedure consists in five main steps: 1. Remove previous X and Y chains. 2. Assemble Y chain. 3. Assemble X chain. 4. Final connections. 5. Verification.

Spare part codes needed: - 232190 X AXIS CHAIN WITH WIRING/TUBES (without teflon tube) - 232191 Y AXIS CHAIN WITH WIRING/TUBES (without teflon tube) - 230126 TUBE TEFLON 1,1x1,7 mm (5 m). Cut 2000 milimeters.

Remove previous X and Y chains. 1. Move the arm to the position showed in the Picture 1, in this position is possible to move the probe to its lower position without any interference with the elements of the instrument.

Unscrew and remove the four screws and remove the frontal cover of the robot.

2.

Unscrew and remove the chain bolt (the lower one that fixes it to the block).

3.

Remove the Teflon tube from the probe and the connector, so that the chain is free.

9.

Disconnect the three flat cables from robot cabling distribution PCBs:

10. Remove the screws that assemble the Y chain to the robot, remove ground wire. At the other side end of the chain, disconnect last chain element.

11. Remove the screws that connect the X chain to the mobile part. At the other end of X chain, remove last chain element over X axis and disconnect the ground wire:

12. Remove Y chain and remove at the same time the teflon and 2 wash station tubes:

Assemble X chain. 23. Connect X chain terminal over X axis and connect ground wire:

24. Assemble X chain into X mobile part with two screws and connect ground cable:

25. Connect the X chain cables to Y chain cables and place/tie wrap them as shown in following pictures. Note: Connect both X and Y wire grounds to the same point:

26. Pass cables through X tie wrap, connect wash station tubes (be careful with vacuum and pressure) and pass cables through the rear panel to Robot PCB:

Final connections. 27. Connect cables to correspondent Robot PCB connectors and wrap:

28. Place cable number 206X ground to Robot PCB fixing screw as detailed in following picture:

29. Pass a new teflon tube through the blue tube into the chains from PCB clot detector to needle.

30. Assemble needle. 31. Assemble robot head covers and panels. Verification. 31. Check according to SM document REGD-0000805.
