HV Switchgears is either collected from the stores or received directly from the manufacturer@s works. 2fter receipt of the consignment, utmost care is to 3e taken during lifting and transportation to avoid any damage to insulators, 3ushings, metering and protective equipment. The equipments shall 3e inspected for any a3normalities and damage. 'eceiving Inspection report is prepared listing out the physical damage, short supplies, and non-conformances of items 0 components as per specifications and vendor drawing. In cause of any damage, it is reported to 2I!//10 !,+ for necessary action.

7.2 Transportation of HV Switchgear to the location: 4ollowing precautions are taken 3efore transportation of !anel 0 switchgear to site %nsure the access to 1ontrol 'oom 0 Su3station is availa3le in all respects as per the 2pproved for 1onstruction drawing 3efore transporting the HV !anel 0 Switchgear. %nsure that the lifting gears, slings and spreader 3ar are of adequate capacity and certified. %nsure that the correct equipment is transported from store to the erection site 3y using proper material handling equipment and tackles in a safe way and shifted to the required area. Ase the lifting hooks only for lifting the panel. Anload the HV !anel 0 Switchgear to the access platform and place it a3ove pipe rollers0trolleys . %nsure that the HV !anel 0 Switchgear is properly supported during the transportation from stores to site. 7.3 Assembly & Erection 1heck foundation 0 trenches and dimensions 0 levels of insert plates or foundation 3olts with respect to vendor B2 drawings. %nsure that the approved equipment layout, schematic drawings and other reference documents are availa3le at site. %nsure the foundation is released 3y 1ivil for the erection. In case Switchgear is connected to transformer through 3us duct, verify the dimensions and levels with respect to transformer, 3us duct and transformer foundation also. %nsure proper Ventilation : temperature inside the 1ontrol 'oom 0 Su3station. %nsure that proper and valid work permits : electrical safety documents are availa3le for carrying out the o3. %nsure that approved 0 recommended tools and tackles of appropriate type are availa3le. 1heck foundation and 3ase frame matches with drawing for correctness of 3olt fi<ing holes and correct level all through the foundation frame. %nsure that the equipment to 3e installed has 3een already inspected. Inspect the equipment for possi3le damages during transport. ;ake sure that the cut-out made on the ground floor sla3 0 raised floor for ca3le entry does not foul with the equipment.

The transport eyehooks have to 3e strained perpendicularly. Install the equipment on the pedestal matching with the central lines already marked. The panel has to 3e assem3led : aligned. %nsured that all interconnection coupling 3olts and 3us 3ar links fit properly without any strain on any part. 1heck grouting of panels, after final alignment. !anels to 3e tack welded at suita3le intervals. %nsure fi<ing 3olts provided 3y vendor are used at all positions : are tightened properly. %nsure for perfect verticality and proper alignment as each section is completed. 1heck for proper alignment and intactness of door gaskets etc. The panels are to 3e thoroughly cleaned with 3lowers and vacuum cleaners. 2ll loose supplied items are to 3e fitted. 2ll wiring, terminals, 3us 3ar oints are to 3e checked for tightness. Tighten the panel couplings : 3us 3ars etc. to the required torque level as mentioned 3y the manufacturers. %nsure connections of all power, control and earth 3us are completed as per drawing. 1heck Safety features such as hori>ontal : vertical separation sheets, 3us 3ar shrouds and door handle interlock are fitted properly. 1heck mechanical operations of 1.&.@s, racking in and out and shutter closing. Inspect contact alignment of draw out type Switchgears. 2lignment of modules in ;11@s to 3e checked. %nsure that the earth 3uses on the either side of the panel are connected to the main earthing grid. %nsure proper mounting of instruments, relays, meters, and indication lamps which are supplied loose. %nsure all the inter panel wiring is completed as per the drawing. %nsure all e<ternal power 0 control ca3ling and terminations are completed as per approved drawing. %nsure that the equipment identification 0 la3els are properly placed as per drawing. 7. Testing & !re commissioning %nsure that the following tests are conducted 3efore giving clearance for commissioning. 2lso refer vendor@s testing and pre-commissioning procedures 0 manuals. %nsure that valid work permit : electrical safety documents are availa3le for carrying out the o3.

Insulation resistance to 3e checked for the entire panel. %lectrical simulation test to 3e carried out for all the protective alarm and annunciation relays along with manual operation of the panels. Secondary in ection test is used for testing the protective relays and thermal overload relays. !rimary in ection test is used to check 'estricted %arth 4ault !rotection. 1omplete the Installation check sheets as per S!-""##

Involved personnel shall 3e provided with appropriate !!% c. 2ll equipments shall 3e checked for the general safety, prior to use. d. +nly trained : competent personnel shall 3e allowed for the work. e.
