ThequartetofetherealbeautiessangamixofairyballadsfrombothitsdebutEPandalbum,ExquisiteCorpseandThe Fool,aswellasthemorelivelyandrebellioustracksfromitsrecentselftitledalbum,Warpaint.Likemoderndaysirens, thegroupsoundsasthoughtheyreunderwater,serenelydraggingyoutothedepthswiththeirechoingvoices. Thefourgirls,twoofwhichcantracetheirfriendshipbacktochildhood,wereconstantlyinteractingplayfully.Whenbassist JennyLeeLindberganddrummerStellaMozgawatoucedheadsandsangalong,whenguitaristsandvocalistsEmily KokalandTheresaWaymandancedtogether,theaudiencefeltasthoughitweregettingaprivatelookintotheirband practice.WhenperformingUndertow,allfourmembersbunchedtogetheraroundMozgawa,dancing,andWaymanhad toboltacrossstagetomakeitbacktohermicintimeforthechorus.Kokalsmoves,Lindbergssambaingandthegeneral rapportbetweenthefourwaselectric.Theirenergygotthecrowdgoing.Kokalatonepointnoted,Man,thisgroupover hereisgrooving.Youguysshouldalljointhem! Thegroupairedanonalbumsong,NoWayOut,whichhasbeenplayedinotherrecentshows.Wehopeitwillalsobe featuredontheirupcomingdocumentaryproducedbyChrisCunninghamithasnoannouncedreleasedate. WhenWarpaintreturnedforanobligatory,threesongencoreofDrive,BeesandElephant,oneaudiencemember said,Imkindofoverencoresingeneral,butthesegirlsareincredible.Thankfully,theyllbebackforLollapalooza,too.
