Please watch for information coming home about our Well Fundraiser. We are encouraging all of our students to raise money by doing chores around the home for family and close friends. We are working to raise enough money to construct our 6th water well in India. We hope you will continue to support our success in reaching our goal of $850.

EOHU
Triple P: On Creating a Safe and Interesting Environment Creating a hazard free and interesting environment for our children is a core principle of the Triple P: Positive Parenting Program. Children need a safe and exciting setting that provides them with plenty of opportunity to explore, discover, experiment, and develop their skills. You can help with your childs healthy development by creating an environment where they can discover, learn, and play safely. Make sure they have safe things to play with like age appropriate toys or provide activities like crafts and games. By providing your child with age appropriate activities, they will eventually learn how to keep themselves entertained. There is no one right way to be a parent, but Triple P can offer information, support and practical answers for your everyday parenting needs. You can start your Triple P experience today by registering for our upcoming events and information sessions at www.mytriplep.ca, or by calling 1-844362-8593. Developing Your Childs Communication Skills Childrens first few years of life are a critical period for language development. They will learn to talk by imitating the gestures, noises, sounds, syllables and words produced by the people around them. Here are some important milestones: From birth to 2 years of age, your child will use familiar words and combine them; From age 2 to 3, your child will understand simple sentences and learn new words quickly; From age 3 to 4, your child will understand long sentences and be understood by the people around him; From age 4 to 5, your child will use almost all of the sounds of his language with few to no errors and ask questions in complete sentences. If your child is not developing his communication skills as fast as he should, the EOHUs Words in Bloom program can help. Designed to help children until they are eligible to start senior kindergarten, speech and language pathologists will work with your child to improve his communication skills. For more information about this program, call 613-933-1375 or 1-800-267-7120 and ask for Health Line.
