-MicroChannel Coil Protection and selection - Tube & Fin Coil Protection and selection - Coils Cleaning Ver. 0 date: 24-05-2013 Coils Treatment Types of treatment available for coils. E COATING It is an Epoxy - Electrofin Polymeric Coating applied over all coil surface by electrocoating process. UV Resistant .Chemically resistant to most of chemical agents (below max ppm) at ambient temperature not high. If high chemical agents (below max ppm) at ambient temperature not high. If high temperature then the level of protection may be reduced. COPPER/COPPER Both Fin and Tube in Copper. Max protection versus corrosion. Not suitable in presence of Ammonia. Coils in aggressive Environment Definition of Four different Non Standard Environments (Type of Sites): 1.Coastal/Marine. Corrosive due to Saline Sea Water and high humidity. Fog and chlorine presence also many km far from the coast. High Corrosion Risk many km far from the coast. High Corrosion Risk 2.Industrial (sulfur, ammonia, chloride, Nox, metal dust in the air, etc). High corrosion risk 3.Urban (emissions from traffic and building heating) 4.Rural. Usually not corrosive area. Only if in presence of ammonia due to animals feces and urines or fertilizers. In this last case Medium corrosion Risk Example for Specific Special Aggressive environment Std Coil E-Coated Cu/Cu Coil Std Site X Airport X Food processing factories X Chemical factories (i.e.: Ammonia, Acids, Hydrocarbons, refer to Max ppm table) X (if<max ppm) X (if > max ppm) refer to Max ppm table) Never with Ammonia Fuel stations X Animal production units (presence of Organic Acids or Ammonia) X Railway station X Sea side (also affected by Sea distance & Wind direction) X (Sea distance < 10km) X (Sea distance <1km) Note: for corrosive Chemical Agents Max ppm contact Systemair for details about Max ppm. 10 Coastal / Marine Corrosion risk based on distance from the sea side in presence of sea wind Sea Side Heat Pump Al /Cu + E-Coating Cu/Cu Al/Cu Distance (km) Side 10 0 5 1 Cool Only MCHX + E-Coating Cu/Cu MCHX MCHX REGULAR MAINTENANCE IS A KEY FACTOR Regular maintenance Check condenser for: tightness corrosion vibrations Coating (if any) must be 100% intact and clean damaged fins, MPE profiles and headers dirty fins Clean and align fins. Note Checking intervals depend on location & application. At least once a year Before winter shut down MCHX CLEANING PROCEDURE for Uncoated Coil Always clean against air flow direction. Remove dry dust and dirt or normal soiling with: soft brush or hand broom compressed air (3 to 5 bar) industrial vacuum cleaner hosepipe (water, 3 to 5 bar) Remove coarse or stubborn dirt with: high pressure cleaner (max. pressure 50 bar; high pressure cleaner (max. pressure 50 bar; minimum distance 400 mm; fan nozzle) steam cleaner (max. pressure 50 bar; minimum distance 400 mm; fan nozzle) Use neutral cleaning agent if necessary. Make sure that cleaning agent has no aggressive or corrosive properties which affect aluminium or the rest of the unit. Make sure that no residue of the cleaning agent is left on the condenser after the cleaning. Note Cleaning intervals depend on the location. MCHX CLEANING PROCEDURE FOR COATED COIL FOR COATED MCHX USE ONLY SPECIAL PROPER PRODUCT: Active at low temperatures Non aggressive to metals High pollution dissolving capacity Non aggressive to coating pH between 5 and 9 No hydroxide (aggressive to aluminum) No chloride compounds E-Coated Coil No chloride compounds Low solvent compounds (< 4 %) No meta-silicate (leaves silicates at surface that can possibly affect coating adhesion (touch-up)) No phosphates compounds (will increase degreasing but has a negative effect on environment) Water temperature used for cleaning and rinsing should be 50 C: Note Cleaning intervals depend on the location.
