Basic Rules: 1) All videos must span between three to ten minutes (including starting and ending credits). A five minute film is optimal. 2) It is compulsory to contain end credits in your video. These must include the names of all the actors/actresses in the film, along with the names of the other members of the team (specifying how each person contributed to the video: e.g. as script writer, producer, video editor) 3) There is no limit on the number of members in a team, but you are advised not to have more than 5-7 people in your team. Participants from NUST who are taking part in this short filmcompetition as part of their Community Service hours CANNOT have more than five people per group. Also, outside help (e.g. in editing the video) is NOT allowed. 4) The video may be in English, Urdu- or a combination of both languages 5) The logo of the NUST Character Building Team must be inserted in the end credits of the video. The Content of the Short Film: All participants are advised to keep Islamic values in mind while filming their videos. For example: - The preferred Islamic dress code should be followed by the characters in the film -Only halal music should be used in the video. This includes nasheeds and clean songs without music (i.e. Vocals only versions) -Male and female participants should avoid producing short films together, unless if they are mahrams -No abusive language is to be used in the video. Similarly, no slandering of any group, person or place will be tolerated. Submission: 1) All short films must be submitted in a format that is playable by a vlc player. Please do not compress videos. 2) There is no limit to the number of videos a university can send in as entries 3) No submissions after the deadline (i.e. the 8 th of May) will be entertained. So please ensure that you send in your video as soon as possible. 4) Each entry must be sent in along with a 150-400 word description of the message that the video is portraying. The idea behind the video must be clearly specified, along with several lines that describe the importance of the topic (and why the team chose to base their video upon it). The target audience for the video must also be identified. 5) The best fifteen videos will be screened at NUST, approximately two weeks after submission. Note: Failure to comply with the above given rules may result in expulsion of the offending/violatingfilm from the competition, or in a loss in points (see JudgingCriteria).
