All cysts are (painless, slowly growing, causing facial deformity) except:
- Anurysmal bone cyst.
- Any infected cyst.
- Buccal bifurcation cyst.
- Large odontogenickeratocyst. Painfull.
- Late stages of nasopalatine duct cyst.
- Late stagesof median palatal cyst.

- Radicular cyst
- solitary bone cyst dont cause bone expansion.
- static bone cyst
All soft tissue cysts have fluctuant movable swelling.
The only soft tissue cyst that have X-ray nasolabial cyst (pressure cup shaped resorption)
Cysts may turn into malignancy :
- Radicular cyst squamous cell carcinoma.
- Dentigerous cyst squamous cell carcinoma, ameloblastoma or mucoepidermoid
carcinoma.
- Odontogenic keratocyst squamous cell carcinomas
- Thyroglossal tract cyst papillary thyroid adenocarcinomas.
Cysts need aggressive treatment and have high recurrence rate :
- Glandular odontogenic cyst
- Odontogenickeratocyst
- Anurysmal bone cyst.
Cysts that can appear intraosseous and extraosseous :
- C.O.C
- Nasopalatine duct cyst.
Multicystic lesions :
- Glandular odontogenic cyst
- C.O.C
Cysts showing nodular thickening :
- Glandular odontogenic cyst
- Dentigerous cyst
- Lateral periodontal cyst
Cysts that have nearly the same histopathology :
- Median mandibular cyst.
- Naso palatal cyst. Stratified squamous epith.
- Median palatal cyst. pseudostartified sq. epith.
- Naso labial cyst. And respiratory epith in maxillary cysts and median
- Thyroglossal tract cyst. Mandibular cyst.
