GGI honored with the memorable presence of
the famous Scientist and the Former Indian
President Dr APJ Abdul Kalam. A special Seminar
on DREAM TO MAKE IT TRUE was organized
by the Gulzar Group of institutes, Ludhiana on
15th June 2012 in Patna, Bihar. His Excellency
Dr. Abdul Kalam, being the main speaker on the
occasion delivered the inspiring and challenging
talk to students presented at the conference
from Bihar and other neighboring states.
His Excellency Dr. Abdul Kalam has truly been
a pillar of strength and tower of motivation in
inciting the country on its upward momentum.

ACADEMIC CALENDAR
The academic calendar is based on the schedule issued
by the affliating university for the respective courses
and exams and activities are conducted accordingly
at the college. A copy of the syllabus with instructions
from the university and students manual are given to
students at the beginning of the academic session.
PERFORMANCE COUNSELLING
We consider all our students equal in terms of caliber,
ability and skills and this is the reason that we have
initiated a Performance Counseling Cell in the campus
in order to provide timely guidance to our students who
face pressure during their academic contact. Our focus is
to build self-confdence and foster the spirit to do well
in chosen sphere of academics.
CORRESPONDENCE WITH
PARENTS
We believe in the notion of sharing the burden. For this,
we remain in regular contact with parents and notify
them about the performance of their ward from time
to time in each semester. However, parents are always
encouraged and advised to be in touch with student
mentor, Department Head, as frequently as possible.
SPECIAL CLASSES, TUTORIALS,
REVISIONS
It is a constant endeavor at GGI to extend support to our
students so that they triumph over their shortcomings
in academics. For enabling this, special classes are
conducted on a regular basis by tutors and mentors in
order to ensure that all our students perform well in their
examinations and practicals. Providing upbeat study
material and timely revision of imperative contents of
the course is a signifcant component of the practice.
In order to enable our faculty to move their teaching
beyond lecture, we have initiated the concept of
active learning classrooms. With the integrated use
of collaborative learning activities and use of media,
our faculty is able to deliver the exceptional. With
students groupings in the classrooms, a supportive and
a fexible environment is created enabling a class to
transit seamlessly between students group work and
a professors lecture. We, through our classrooms, have
provided options that support the innumerable ways in

the importance of unwinding over a cup of tea and
following this, we have a sanitized, hygienic, friendly
and lively canteen at the campus. Students often fock
to this place to sit back and relax between lectures. An
array of gastronomic delights available at our canteen
will tickle your taste buds and leave you wanting for
more.
Automatic Teller Machines (ATM) is made available on
the college campus. This allow easy access to your
money transaction through the use of a card and
PIN (Personal Identifcation Number).This would also
help the parents to transfer money to their wards at
the time of emergency. It is convenient for students
to withdraw cash 24 hours a day. Theres no need to
carry large amounts of cash and expose yourself to
thieves. Just withdraw what you need for the day or
even for one purchase.
The on Campus clinic provides health care to students,
staff, their dependents within the College Campus 24
hours a day, 7 days a week. The Campus clinic is Run
and managed under the guidance of qualifed and
experienced doctor and nurse. 24 X 7 Health Services
and 24 X 7 Emergency services are also available
along with college transportation on request.
Computer Lab: Information Technology plays a vital
role in all spheres of studies and in Technical and
Management studies, in order to facilitate students,
GGI has designed a well-equipped Wi-Fi Computer
Centre consisting advanced Computers with latest
specifcations and 24x7 Internet facilities. The
Electrical and Electronics Labs: are fully equipped
with panel Boards, machines & equipment along with
all calibrating apparatus the department has following
fully equipped laboratories with the state of art
equipment: Digital Electronics & Analog Electronics
Circuit, Electronic Circuit Simulation, Advanced
Microprocessor and Microcontroller, VLSI Design,
Optical Communication.The Mechanical Engineering
Lab: is fully equipped with the machines &
equipments as prescribed in the syllabus Designed by
PTU University. Well qualifed and progressive faculty
handles the practical aspects of the mechanical and
other related branches of Engineering for conducting
practicals with skill. The physics Lab: Physics lab with
attached Dark room has been provided with most
modern equipments needed for not only conducting
practical but also for research and development work.
The faculty of physics is always devoted for further
advancement and continuous improvement of the
lab not only for meeting the university requirements
but also for undertaking advanced research studies.
The Chemistry Lab: Chemistry Lab tables provided
with granite Top ftted with all accessories, water and
gas connection. All glass wares and chemicals are
available for conducting the practical in the lab with

LIFE AT GGI
The faculty at GGI is a unique blend of expertise and
excellence. Through a variety of committees, faculty
plays active role in the governance of the Institute and
assumes total ownership of collective decision. Faculty
at GGI is drawn from diverse backgrounds from all over
the country, Majority faculty of the members are not
only experts in their respective felds of interest but
also enhance their skills through faculty development
programs and constantly redefning their technical &
analytical skills. This translates into an education of
high quality that is delivered at individualized personal
level. Our faculty takes part in a unique mentor ship
program targeted at maximizing the educational
advantages that GGI students enjoy.
Our faculty is an amalgam of talent, competency
& enthusiasm. The faculty has several national &
international publications to their credit. We not only
impart management concepts by using audio video aids,
but also lay ample stress on personality development
and human values, grooming the students for a bright

FACULTY AT GGI
A host of events keeps taking place at GGI. Extra-cur-
ricular activities is a signifcant part of the GGI groom-
ing and keeping this in mind, entertainment activities,
group activities and more keep taking place. This nur-
tures our students not only as professionals but also as
complete citizens. Activities like tree planting, blood
donation, cleanliness drive, awareness campaigns et al
help in generating compassion towards building better
society. Organizing an annual event and regular social
gatherings where students get a chance to explore and
showcase their talent is another aspect of GGI. Keep-
ing this in mind, hostel nights are conducted for our
hostellers so that they can wind back and enjoy them-
selves staying away from home.
Some of the events worth mentioning are Anubhav,
where freshers are welcomed. Anubhav sees an array
of cultural activities taking place at the campus like
a fashion party, plays, mimicry, performance of a rock
band, solo and duet songs and more.
Robomania is organized for two days and students
from various colleges gather on a common platform
and compete on technology-oriented contests like Ro-
boWars, Full Throttle, Highway to hell etc. GGI keeps
inviting well-known performers like Kamal Heer and
Man Mohan Waris and more to enthrall our students.
Colours was organized in March where several activi-
ties like an athletics meet, long jump, shot put, basket-
ball match, volleyball match were carried out. Simulta-
neously, Rangoli, face paintings, tattoo-making etc also
kept the campus effervescent.
Once in every semester, National and International
conferences are organized. A Journal of engineering
and management with ISSN number is published. Re-
cent trends in Nano technology and applications were
delved into with the support of Department of Science
and Technology at the campus.

VISIT TO SENIOR CITIZEN
HOMES
The College organized visits to Senior Citizen Homes
KhannaKusht Ashram by organizing a Noble Donation
Camp. The objective of the visit was to inculcate a sense
of responsibility towards the abandoned and secluded
sections of society. Students from different classes
visited and spend time with senior citizens, listen to
their joys and sorrows and try to fll their monotonous
lives with love, affection and warmth.
MEDICAL CAMPS AND BLOOD
DONATION CAMP
GGI organized Medical Camps in villages in collaboration
with a team of doctors from reputed hospitals and the
College makes arrangements for distribution of free
medicines to the needy. Also eye check up and dental
check up camps are organized for the students. Through
such camps, the members also motivate students to
take part in Blood Donation Programme to take pledge
to donate blood for giving a new life to human beings.

THROUGH PLANTATION DRIVES
The College organized plantation campaigns regularly
to involve the young generation to work for the cause
of environment protection as a token of gratitude to the
Mother Nature. The students are urged to plant at least

SOCIAL ACTIVIES
GGI aims at creating compassionate and socially responsive citizens. It is therefore required to arouse the social
conscience of students by exposing them to realities of life and bring a change in their social perception. To bring
this change the College organizes a number of activities every year since its inception. Some of the activities are: -
From session 2013, GULZAR GROUP OF INSTITUE has
tie-up with TATA CONSULATNT SEVICES (TCS) to offer
only ERP Solutions which offers integrated modules to
provide simple window view of inter education process
and set up a platform of E-Learning.
The TCS iON offers integrated solution beginning
from admissions to academics, timings , grading,
examination, fee, library, hostel, alumni etc. with greater
transparency to Students, Parents & Faculty are able to
view valuation & assessments which will improves on
their effciency.
A centralized & organized knowledge repository to
capture, store, index & preserve critical information.
The Training & Placement Cell team is fully equipped
to handle presentations, pre-placement talks, group
discussions and all types of interview sessions. T&P
team handles the entire process and paperwork related
to recruitment drive at GGI.
The pre-placement talks are planned to go on
in tandem to the academic calendar and mutual
convenience of the recruiters. The pre-placement talk
would entail a presentation by the company to appraise
students about the organization, job requirements
and job profles offered. The recruiters can also gain
insights about the expectations from students, where
in they may enquire about performance and growth of
company, work culture, possible career opportunities
with your company and growth, and an overview of the
job profle, Compensation details and locations etc.
The placement team would require job description,
job specifcations/roles, Profle of the Organization,
selection process, and feasible dates for conducting
interviews.
This information will be shared with the eligible
students so as to enable them to evaluate his/her own
interest in the company and thus identify an appropriate
ft for both summer and fnal placements.

Organizing regular Job Fairs every year at GGI Campus
is another area where management takes keen interest
to facilitate prospective candidates in getting suitable
job opportunities as per their abilities and, experiences
and academic background. Keeping in view the need of
the hour GGI organized a Mega Job Fair in the last week
of April 2012. This year a similar Mega Job Fair was in
27th of April 2013.
In the Job Fest of 2012, more than 60 companies
participated. Students from GGI and other colleges
were allowed to participate on the same. On the
spot job offers were made to students of BTech,
MBA, Diploma and other graduates. GGI, because of
its industry linkages, strategic location and forward
looking management is an ideal place for companies to
come and participate in job fair on the college campus.
JOB FEST
Placement Week is an initiative taken by GGI, where
in a number of companies visit the campus for on
the spot placements.The idea was introduced by the
college Management and headed by the Placement
department, GGI, under the able guidance of college
Management, Principal/ Director, Heads of department
and faculty of GGI. The Placement Week is planned
from time to time keeping in mind that the students
have fnished their exams and are now ready to face
the corporate world, like Citi Bank, HSBC Bank, HDFC
Bank, Axis Bank, TVS, Gulzar Motors, GS Radiators
International etc visit the campus and recruit the
students at very handsome salaries.

Mechanical Engineers are needed wherever you
fnd machines and devices, and at every stage-
conception, design and analysis, implementation and
testing, operation and maintenance, recycling and
sustainability, management, consulting, marketing and
research. Gulzar Mechincal Engineering as a discipline
has, perhaps, the widest applications. The Mechanical
Engineers are trained in mechanics thermodynamics,
fuid dynamics, energy etc. and can apply their skills
across industries such as automobiles, aviation, heating
cooling systems and virtually all manufacturing
facilities from medical equipment , white goods
manufacturers, automobile manufacturing OEMs to
various industries etc. Career possibilities are virtually
endless and incredibly diverse. Mechanical Engineers
are employed by consulting frms, manufacturing
plants, automobile and mechanical design frms and
aerospace industries to name just a few.
The Information and communication technology of our
knowledge-based society places Computer Engineers
at the hub of a revolution that is perpetually evolving
and changing the way we live and work. Computer
Science & Engineering is the branch of engineering
which incorporates elements from both electrical
engineering and computer science with an emphasis
on their application in designing and development
of modern computers and computers based systems.
Career: There are many exciting career possibilities
in the technology sector and in many industries that
design devices that integrate hardware and software.
MECHANICAL ENGINEERING
COMPUTER ENGINEERING (CSE)
Our Engineering programs maintain their dominance with leading-edge specialization such as High-tech electronics
& communication, Robotics and Computer Aided Design & Manufacturing
ENGINEERING PROGRAMME
We are surrounded by a physical Environment created
by Civil Engineers homes, schools and offce buildings,
highways, bridges, subway systems and airports,
river and coaster system and green landflls. Gulzar
Civil Engineering provides its students with a board
spectrum education in structural design, geotechnical
engineering, hydraulics environmental and public
health engineering. You will face on planning, designing
and managing the structures on which society depends.
This program emphasizes self learning, teamwork,
communication, leadership and problem solving. Career
of CE is hugely diverse: urban and regional planning,
environmental assessment, water supply, construction
industrial design, architecture and public health
engineering to name a few
CIVIL ENGINEERING
ELECTRONICS AND COMMUNICATION ENGINEERING (ECE)
Electronics & Communication Engineering is at the
heart of wired and wireless technologies for high speed
communications, intelligent robotic systems and medical
diagnosis techniques. Gulzar Electronic Engineering
and specialization include Communications, Control
Systems, Electronics, Power and signal Processing. You
will study circuits, electronics, electromagnetic,
signals and sytems, as well as wireless and optical
communication, robotics and integrated circuit
engineering. Team design projects help you learn how
to apply the knowledge and skills you learn in real
life engineering applications. Careers are found in all
of the rapidly evolving high-technology felds such as
wireless and fbre-optic communication, biomedicine
robotics.
The engineering of the automobile or automotive en-
gineering is the branch of the engineering that takes
care of the study like how to design, to make and to
work the automobiles like the buses, the cars etc. and
also its respective subsystems of engineering. This can
also be grouped under engineering of the vehicle. The
main aim of the engineer of the automobile is to de-
sign, to prove and to develop the vehicles and/or the
components from the stage of the concept to traverse
to the production stage. The vehicle after being sent in
the market also needs improvement. Then it comes to
the engineer of the automobile to improve the vehicle
in response to the feeback of clients. Career: Due to the
rapid growth in automobile industry one can fetch lot
many opportunities in India. Their work is to plan, ana-
lyze, design and manufacture. They have to take care
about the performance, and the drawbacks in the work.
They can opt in some transport companies, service sta-
tion, consultant, self employment in workshops. PhD
holders can go with research and M-TECH or can go in
teaching feld. While students are in the courese they
get campus placement from the automobile industry.
AUTOMOBILE ENGINEERING
Automation and Robotics Engineering is the use of
control systems and information technologies to reduce
the need for human work in the production of goods and
services. In the scope of industrialization, automation is
a step beyond mechanization. Whereas mechanization
provided human operators with machinery to assist them
with the muscular requirements of work, automation
greatly decreases the need for human sensory and
mental requirements as well. Automation plays an
increasingly important role in the world economy and
in daily experience. Career: It is an industry based on
groundbreaking new technologies, wherein a handful
of well-established corporations sell highly specialized
devices for business use and a fast- growing number of
start-up companies produce innovative toys, gadgets. A
wide career opportunity opens up after pursuing this
course as you can become Process Control Engineers,
Automation Specialist.
AUTOMATION & ROBOTICS ENGINEERING
ELECTRICAL & ELECTRONICS ENGINEERING (EEE)
Electrical and Electronics engineering is a feld
of engineering that generally deals with the
study and application of electricity, electronics
and electromagnetism. The feld frst became an
identifable occupation in the late nineteenth century

MASTER OF BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION (MBA)
This is a unique and innovative programme in many
respects with the following features: Students without
a formal qualifcation of 10+2 or its equivalent can also
seek admission Student can study at his own pace and
convenience over a period of 3 to 8 years. Student also
gets basic knowledge in the core areas of Humanities,
Social Sciences, Computers and Science & Technology
as there are some compulsory foundation courses.
As there is a minimum component of application-
oriented courses, student is exposed to vocational/
professional expertise. Students have the opportunity
to develop skills in computers by selecting computer
courses. Besides elective course in commerce there
is fexibility to choose courses from a wide range of

multi-media. A student of another University can seek

BACHELOR OF COMPUTER APPLICATION

developed. Graduates can start their career as junior programmer and get promoted to the post of Senior
Programmers & Project Managers in the IT Sectors.
BACHELOR OF COMMERCE (Professional)
Indian IT industry has achieved remarkable growth
from roughly Rs.30 Crores in 1988. The industries is
worth Rs. 6300 crores in 1998. The software industry
expects to grow to Rs. 20,000 crores in the next fve
years and to Rs. 100, 000 crores by 2015. Despite
the remarkable growth, the Indian software industry

Computers, Microprocessor, and software like C, C++,

Maintenance and Networking.
Career Options : On completion of Diploma in Computer
Science, plenty of career opportunities exist in the IT
industry. The students can go for further studies like
the B.E Course. They can fnd openings as software
engineers, system developers and programmers. They
get suffcient opportunity to learn PC hardware so
that they can become Hardware Engineers. They can
become network engineers. They are eligible for the
Apprenticeship training program in HAL, NAL, etc.
Infnite opportunities in the feld of Web and Multimedia
designing are available for Diploma holders. Most
MNCs prefer diploma students for BPO and Call Centre
jobs. The Institutions offers training programs of three
year duration leading to the award of an Engineering
Diploma in Computer Science & Communications. It
follows six monthly semester system. The State Board
conducts exams after completion of each semester. For
odd semester the examination is held in the month of
Nov/Dec & for even semester it is in May/June each
year.

in Electronics also provides much choice of subjects
for higher studies like Electronics, Instrumentation,
Telecommunication, Medical Electronics, Mechatronics
and Computer Science. Eligibility Criteria for Admission
in to Diploma Programme: The candidate must
have passed the following essential subject in their
Matriculation Examination (State Board/Centre Board
i.e. CBSE/ICSE/National Open School are from any
other country)for admission to the institution.
ENGLISH MATHEMATICS SCIENCE
The admission is made through Joint Entrance Test
(JET) conducted by Punjab State board of Tech. Edu. &
Indl. Trg. , Chandigarh in the month of May/June.
The students who have passed their I.T.I. course
certifcate are eligible for admission in 2nd year of
Diploma Program.
Student who have passed Matriculation and cleared
essential subjects such as English, Mathematics &
Science along with JET examination and are desirous to
get admission on provisional basis against the vacant
seats at the management quota, may directly apply to
the Principal of the institute as per above mentioned
terms & conditions. Their fnal admission shall be,
however, subject to approval of the Punjab State Board
of Tech. Edu. & Indl. Trg. ,Chandigarh. Students who
wish to register themselves for admission may do so
by depositing the sum of Rs. 10000/-. Their admission
shall be regularized on their being fnally eligible
as per above said norms. The candidate, who fails to
seek admission on being eligible, shall forfeit their
registration fee and no claim for the same shall be
entertained.

Sports and student life are interconnected. The
signifcance of sports goes beyond just physical ftness.
A ft body leads to a ft mind is what GGI believes
in and this has made us venture into the arena of
sports activities being a regular at the GGI campus.
Sports teach us lessons that are essential in the life
of a student athlete. It instills confdence, discipline,
team spirit, accountability and sacrifce. Various sports
activities at the campus are held regularly and these are
coordinated by the Department of Physical Education.
Activities like intra-mural competitions, annual athletic
meets, inter-campus tournaments are a regular feature
at the GGI. For initiating an interest in physical ftness
among our students, the GGI campus offers excellent
playing facilities like courts for games like Basketball,
Lawn Tennis, Cricket, Volley Ball, Badminton, and
Football. Not only outdoor games but the campus has
infrastructure in place for indoor games like Table
tennis, Carom Board and Chess. The campus has a fully
equipped gymnasium for those who believe in burning
it out with excellent cardiovascular and resistant
equipment in place. Expert guidance on weight training
and cardio is delivered by experts at the gym.
SPORTS
Several students reside at GGI hostel and it is like
being at a home away from home. Boys and girls have
a separate facility; there is a 24X7 warden and a tight
security that ensures a pleasant stay within the GGI
campus. The rooms at the hostel are fully furnished
with modern facilities to ensure that students are
comfortable and can concentrate on their studies. We
have a STD facility, laundry facility, internet access and
common room where students can get together and
get an access to newspapers, magazine and television.
Other basic facilities like medical facility,
24X7 guards etc are also available.
HOSTEL
The College has a well equipped GYM facility for boys
and girl students on the college campus. A central
multi-facility piece of equipment for the men enables
several enthusiasts to work out at the same time in one
of the gymnasia for men. A qualifed gym instructor is
available round-the-clock to train students specifcally
for their respective sports. This gym has separate
timings for men and women.

The students are expected to be disciplined and well
behaved . Students are advised to read the code of
conduct . Instructions will be strictly followed by all
the students throughout the course. Ignorance of
Rules will not be accepted as an excuse. Decision of
the management will be fnal and binding for all the
students . The Rules mentioned below are meant to
enforce discipline in our campus.
1. Students must be seated in the classrooms fve
minutes before the scheduled time.
2. No student will be allowed to enter the class/Knock
at the door or leave the class once the faculty is in
the classroom.
3. No student will be seen loitering around when the
scheduled class is on .
4. All mobiles and communication devices, if any will
be switched off in the academic block. They can be
used only in the canteen area.
5. Students will always carry previous days newspaper
and business magazine.
6. Smoking, chewing of pan masala in campus and such
indecent activities are strictly prohibited
7. Students should be dressed appropriately as per
laid down rooms. Slippers, jeans, T-shirts etc. are
not allowed in the campus , Jeans & t-shirts will
only be worn on stipulated days as permitted by
management .
8. Absence from tests/examinations tutorials and
non submission of assignments in time will make
the student ineligible for internal assessment. No
excuse will be entertained.
9. Students should keep themselves abreast of day
to day activities of the Institute and abide by all
communications put up on the notice Board /
website.
10. Writing graffti on the wall of the campus, chairs and
tables or any where is an act of indiscipline. Such
acts will attract severe punishments/fne.
11. Disrespect or discourtesy to guests , faculty and offce
staff will be considered as an act of indiscipline.
12. Misbehavior, habitual late coming, disobedience,
absenteeism, consumption of drugs, alcohol in the
premises , malpractices , cheating in the exam ,
and other such acts unbecoming of a management
students shall attract disciplinary action.
1. Tuition fee and other dues shall be paid by due date.
Defaulters shall be governed by the rules relating to
fee payment schedule.
2. Any Student who has been formally warned or
suspended (twice) will not be eligible for the campus
placements through the Institute. His/her name will
not be included in the Placement Brochure.
3. Co-curricular activities shall not be considered as
an excuse for lack of attendance, unless otherwise
permitted by the Management.
4. Tearing of pages from the Library books will be
viewed seriously , the student returning the book
shall be held responsible for making the damages/
replacement of book .
5. Rules of the Institute can and will be changed at
appropriate times keeping in view the best interest
of students and the Institute.
6. Anti Ragging: Anyone found indulging in ragging
in any form within or outside the campus, shall be
instantly expelled from the Institute.
7. Wearing of Crash-Helmets: All the students who
use 2 wheeler vehicles will be required to wear
crash helmet. Defaulters will be fned Rs.500/- per
incident and those who default repeatedly will be
RED LISTED.
8. Disputes if any shall be resolved within the
jurisdiction of Ludhiana only.
9. The Executive Director is empowered to impose fnes
for misconduct on the part of any students and when
warranted and justifed. The fnes so collected will be
utilized for students welfare activities.
