JOB ANNOUNCEMENT DIRECTOR OF DEVELOPMENT AND OPERATIONS

The MinKwon Center for Community Action invites applications for a Director of Development and Operations. The
Director of Development and Operations will work closely with our staff and Board to help guide and lead our program
work, administrative and development efforts.

Organization History & Mission
The MinKwon Center for Community Action was established in 1984 as the Young Korean American Service & Education
Center (YKASEC) to meet the needs and concerns of the Korean American community. Since our founding, we have
made a profound presence through various grassroots organizing, education, and advocacy initiatives that address
important community issues, including immigration policies, voter rights, and cultural awareness. The MinKwon Center
places a special emphasis on meeting the needs of our marginalized community members, including youth, elderly, recent
immigrants, low-income residents, and limited-English-proficient residents.

Job Description
The Director of Development and Operations will work closely with the Executive Director and with other staff, Board
and volunteers to plan, execute and implement a robust fundraising strategy for the organization as well as implement
core program work and operations. Specifically, the Director of Development and Operations will have the following
responsibilities:
Development: work with Executive Director and admin/development staff to:
o Oversee the planning, execution, and implementation of the annual Gala and other events to raise funds
and awareness of the MinKwon Center and its mission;
o Develop, oversee and strengthen our organizations long-term fundraising strategy, working closely with
Program Directors and Board;
Operations: work with Executive Director and senior leadership to:
o Oversee the implementation, monitoring and evaluation of programs;
o Manage and integrate program work across the organization;
o Upgrade, organize, and manage the ongoing administrative operations.

Job Requirements
4+ years in relevant progressive experience, including in a leadership/management role;
Interest, experience and demonstrated commitment in working on social justice issues, such as immigrants rights,
workers rights, and civil rights;
Familiarity with Korean American, Asian American or immigrant community issues strongly preferred;
Excellent oral and written communication skills, including strong group facilitation, public speaking and writing
skills;
Strong project management skills working in team environment, ability to execute and bring innovative ideas;
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to manage funder relationships;
Ability and willingness to participate in regular evening/weekend events.
