Easily transfer contacts from your old phone to your Nokia X using
the Contacts Transfer app thats pre-loaded on your phone.
DEMO
1. Turn on Bluetooth connectivity on your
old phone* and Nokia X.
2. From the App Launcher menu, tap Contacts Transfer.
3. Tap Continue > Scan for devices and tap the name
your old phone to pair with it.
4. On your old phone and the Nokia X, verify the pairing
code and allow both phones to pair with each other.
5. On Nokia X, select Phone or Sim card to copy contacts
from your old phone and then tap Continue.
6. A screen will display after your contacts have
successfully transferred. Tap Done.

Dual SIM Settings
Nokia X lets you take charge of your data with Easy Swap Dual
SIMs. Swap micro SIM cards without switching of, personalise
your SIMs, and predefne functions for up to fve SIM cards.

1. From the App Launcher menu, tap Settings > Dual SIM.
From here you can set options for calls and messages,
setting SIMs as ofine, and SIM names.
2. Under Calls and messages, you can select which SIM
card you want to use or tap the switch next to
Always ask to select which SIM card to use before
you make a call or send a text.
3. Under Set SIMs as ofine, tap the circle next to set
SIM1 or SIM2 to change from Ofine to Online.
4. Under SIM names, tap SIM1 name or SIM2 name and
type the name you want to use to personalise SIMs.

tile into the group you want to attach it to. To have a gap, drag and drop

Easily navigate Nokia X with the touch of your fnger. Swipe your fnger across the
Lock screen to unlock the phone and access notifcations. You can also swipe between
the App Launcher menu and Fastlane, swipe down from the top of the screen to
open wireless controls, or swipe up for more options.

1. From another device, send a SMS to Nokia X to add a new notifcation to the Lock screen.
2. From the Glance screen, press the Power key to access the Lock screen.
3. Swipe up from the bottom of the display to clear all notifcations on the Lock screen.
4. Swipe left or right across the Lock screen to unlock the phone.
5. Swipe left or right to navigate between Fastlane and the App Launcher menu.
6. From the top of the display, swipe down to open wireless controls, and swipe up to close.

respond to messages and missed callls, accept meeting requests, and more.

1. Swipe across the Lock screen to unlock the phone.
2. From the App Launcher menu, swipe left or right across the display to access Fastlane.
3. Under Recent, view and access your recently opened apps.
4. Swipe down to see your upcoming alarms and calendar events.
5. Tap in the top left corner and select Always ask so you can choose a
social network each time. Then, tap a social network you want to update.
6. Sign into your social network and post an update.
7. Press the Back key until you return to Fastlane.
8. Swipe up to return to activities from previous days.
9. Tap an app on Fastlane to launch it.
10. Press the Back key to return to Fastlane.
11. To delete an activity from Fastlane, long press on the screen and tap the
next to individual entries, or tap to clear your Fastlane.

Glance screen to access
new notifcations.
Simply glance to check for missed calls, events, new emails, or messages, and directly
swipe a notifcation on the Lock screen for instant access. From Fastlane you can see
your missed calls or messages and quickly call back or reply.

2. View the missed call from the Lock screen.
3. From the Lock screen, place your fnger on the new notifcation and swipe right

4. Swipe from the edge of the screen and swipe to Fastlane to see the missed call.
5. Tap Call back or Message and then select an app to complete the action. If its a
regular action, like making a call with your phone, you can tap Always.

Update to the latest version of MixRadio OTA so you can download your favourite mixes and listen
while youre ofine. When the update is available, a notifcation will display in Nokia Store. To get
the update, from the App Launcher menu tap Store > > MixRadio > Update.

friends on Skype.
Stay in touch with your friends when youre on the go. Sign into your Skype account
and see all your Skype contacts in one place. From your phone you can instant message
and talk to other people who have a Skype account. You can also pay a little and call
phones or send texts.

1. From the App Launcher menu, tap Skype.
2. Tap Sign in with a Skype account or you can also sign in with your Microsoft account.
3. Enter your Skype name and password and tap Sign in.
4. Swipe between the screens to see your recent messages, favourite contacts, and all your people.
5. To message a contact, from the People screen, tap a contacts name.
6. Tap Type a message here and enter your message.
7. When you fnish, tap to send the message.
8. Press the Back key to hide the keypad.
9. To make a Skype-to-Skype voice call, tap .

If the app you want is not in Nokia Store yet, it might be available from
one of our partner stores. Just look for the list of partner stores and
download their app stores to your Nokia X. From a partner app store,
search for an app and download it to your phone.

1. From the App Launcher menu, tap Store.
2. Tap Search and enter a name of an app.
3. Tap Go on the keypad.
4. If no results are found in Nokia Store, a list of partner stores
display. Choose an app store like Aptoide and tap Download.
5. Tap OK.

7. Search for the same app, if it is available, tap the name
of the app and then tap Install.
8. Tap Install.

Download Android apps
from the web.
The internet is loaded with hundreds of websites with Android apps. These apps have
an APK extension. You can transfer APK fles you download on your computer to Nokia X
via memory card or USB fle transfer mode, and then use a fle manager to install it.
DEMO
1. Connect your Nokia X to your computer in USB memory mode. If it connects in another mode,
swipe down from the top of the screen to access wireless controls and tap USB memory.
2. On your computer, go to a website with Android apps, fnd an app, and then download it.
3. Click OK to save the fle.
4. Locate the fle in your Downloads folder and copy it to the
internal memory on Nokia X or onto the memory card.
5. When you fnish, disconnect Nokia X from the computer.
6. On Nokia X, from the App Launcher menu, tap ASTRO File Manager
and locate the fle you just transferred from your computer.
7. Tap the fle and tap Install.
8. Tap Open.
Side Load Apps
The frst time you download an app from online, you will be prompted to change your settings
to allow installation from unknown sources. Tap Settings > Unknown sources > OK to agree
you are responsible for any damage caused by apps from an unknown source.

Access hundreds of

There is a whole world of third-party Android app stores out there, and with Nokia X you have
the freedom to get your apps from those stores as well. Just launch the internet on your phone
and go to a third-party Android app store.

1. From the App Launcher menu, tap Internet.
2. Tap the web address bar and enter the URL for a third-party Android app store.
3. In the search feld, enter the name of an app and tap Go on the keyboard.
4. Download the app.
5. Press the Back key to return to the App Launcher menu, and then swipe to Fastlane.
6. The app downloads and the status shows in the Fastlane. After the app downloads,
tap 1 fle Downloaded.
7. Tap Install.
8. Tap Open.

Search for content on your phone, online, or HERE Maps
From the App Launcher menu, place your fnger on the middle of the display and pull down to reveal
the Search bar. Tap Search and enter what you are looking for. Related content on your phone displays
frst or you can search online.
Quickly enter text
While entering text, tap the frst letter in the word and then drag your fnger to the next letters. When you fnish,
pick up your fnger and the word displays on the screen.
Hide what you see in Fastlane
From the App Launcher menu, tap Settings > Fastlane > Choose apps and then tap next to the application
you want to hide from Fastlane.
Manage notifcations on the Lock screen
When you have a notifcation on the Lock screen:
Swipe up from the bottom of the display to dismiss all notifcations on the Lock screen.
Place your fnger on a notifcation and swipe left across the display to dismiss the notifcation.
Place your fnger on another notifcation and swipe right across the display to view the notifcation.
Fast scroll in the phonebook
Tap, drag, and drop the slider bar on the right of the screen to quickly access diferent letters of the alphabet.

Change the Lock screen notifcations to icons
From the App Launcher menu, tap Settings. Under Lock screen tap the
slider to hide notifcations and display icons.
View battery usage
From the App Launcher menu, tap Settings > Battery. See how much battery
life you have used and see the battery usage for diferent apps and features.
End a call
When the phone is ringing, swipe up or down to receive or reject a call.
Double tap to wake up the phone
From the App Launcher menu, tap Settings > Screen.
Under Screen double tap tap the slider to turn on this feature.
Change the keyboard language
While entering text, tap and hold the space bar to change keyboard language.
Control music
From the Lock screen or Fastlane, tap or to control the
