Nowadays children are always told to study hard so as to attend college or

university. When they were very young, their parents made them believe that studying
hard and thengoing to college is the only way to their bright future. As a matter of fact,
the childrenthemselves do not really know why they should attend college when they
grow up. Andtheir parents may know the reasons either from their own experience or
from others`around them.In my point of view, when I was in enior !iddle chool, I
thought the reason why Ishould go to college was that I could experience another way of
life"""""the life in college, for I had heard that college life was very pleasant. I had
imagined that kind of life to beso wonderful that it deserved my efforts. Another reason is
that my parents would be proud of me if I would be enrolled by a university. !eanwhile
my parents thought if Iwent to college, I would learn much more and could find a good
#ob in the future to live agood life. In fact, many classmates of mine at that time hoped
that they could leave their parents to live alone. And to go to college was a good reason
for them to go out.
Also there were students who wanted to meet more friends in the college. After I
graduated, now I think as society develops, people`s conception towards education has
developed, too. In their minds, college education is a necessary stage for a person to
experience. !aybe they will not have a good #ob after they graduate, or they will not use
what they have learned during college time, they should still have theexperience of
university life. $uring college time, the students can learn how to get onwell with others,
how to plan their time, how to study by themselves and how to live by themselves more
than the knowledge in books. %he former is more helpful not only to their future career
but to their future life.
%eaching is an important and increasingly popular choice of career for all kinds of
people. &ver since I was a kid I wanted to be a teacher. %eaching is the greatest career
ever. It is very satisfying and tricky at the same time. I think that it is a once in a million
time life chance to get teaching as a career.
In order to be a teacher you need special skills and special awards to be a

I don0t know about other people but I love children. 1ou need excellent writing

way you could see who is paying attention and who is #ust plain la3y. %hey will always
look up to you, you are their role model.
(eing a teacher is one of the most rewarding, fulfilling and yet challenging
careers on offer. 1our role is essential because of the impact you can have on the lives
of students that you teach. (ecoming a teacher is not a decision to be made lightly. It0s
essential that you evaluate the role and see whether this is in fact the #ob for you.
4olunteering or applying for paid work as a classroom assistant is an excellent
way to get a taste of life in the classroom. 1ou will get a realistic picture of the rewards
and challenges the #ob offers. Alternatively, you may be able to attend an open day or
complete a program of structured observation at a local school. %here are many things
that define teaching as a profession5 some of them include a teacher having good
organi3ation skills, being prepared for anything, being able to adapt to any situation, and
the ability to assess their students. All of these things help to define teaching as a
profession. &ach of these abilities is used by teachers on a daily basis. 6eeping a
classroom organi3ed can save a teacher time, and keep his7her stress level at a
minimum. It can also help students learn easily in an organi3ed classroom setting.
%eachers also have to be prepared for anything that may come their way.
-lassrooms are often very unpredictable and kids can do many things such as hurt
themselves during class. %here are also outside elements that can cause a distraction
for the students. If a teacher is prepared then these elements will not disturb the
students. %eachers also need to be able to adapt to new technology that may help them
in the classroom. %echnology is constantly changing and students are keeping up with it.
If teachers and schools also keep up with technology it will make learning easier and
more interesting for students. %he last thing that defines teaching as a profession is the
ability to assess the students that they teach. %eachers need to make sure that the
students understand what they are teaching. If not then the teacher might need to figure
out a better way to get through to the students.
