To provide hands on experience and enhance the understanding on
the principles of gas meter calibration using the reference meter
concept. The system used in this experiment is the
SOLTEQ/CL/!"!#/$$ Calibration Station.
2+0 #ntro2u*tion
The calibration process as conducted in this experiment follo%s the
international standards as practiced by the industry. The experience
and exposure gained from doing this experiment %ill enhance the
understanding of gas meter design and operation.
&n this particular experiment' system stabili(ation is closely lin)ed
%ith the time period and steady state process. &n order to reach
stabili(ed supply of the compressed air medium' buffering is re*uired
to ensure consistent supply by maintaining constant do%nstream
demand. &f large fluctuation occurs in the do%nstream demand'
stability might not be reached. y ensuring sufficient gas supply and
appropriate flo% control' operation accuracy and verification of gas
meter should be achieved.
&t is important to remember that since the supply pressure by the
portable gas cylinder is relatively high' pressure regulator must be
employed and appropriate safety precaution exercised. The control
of opening and closing of the isolation valve should be made
carefully.
The second stage regulator is employed to ensure gas supply does
not exceed the maximum operating pressure of %et type gas meter
to about "# + %.c.. Touch,screen -C installed should be operated only
after basic operation of the system is thoroughly understood.
.lo% control is by means of using the appropriate hand valves. Each
pressure sensing line should be made up to al%ays in the opening
position. The closing and opening of isolation hand valves should
follo% the instruction belo%.

/Note: Air Compressor will immediately stop, once the Air Receiving
Unit reaches its setpoint. The compressor will be automatically
triggered if this pressure is reduced.0
