PANEL BOX
Pneumax is well-suited and capable of satisfying needs
in the pneumatic automation and mining fields. We
provide well-engineered and reliable products with

Established in 1987, we have built a solid reputation as
one of the leaders in the pneumatic and automation
fields, offering innovative, modern products. The Head
Office is situatedinKemptonPark, Johannesburg, with
branches in Durban, Pretoria, and more recently
Richards Bay, and a satellite office in Zambia. Agents
and distributors of products are appointed in all major
cities inSouthAfrica.
Products offered by Pneumax include amongst others,
air preparation units and air management devices such
as manual and solenoid operated valves and actuators
and handling equipment. We also offer linear and
rotary actuators, process solenoid valves, dust
collector valves, fittings andtubing.
We supply Imperial Mine Cylinders and Rail Change
Cylinder Devices to mines in Southern Africa and other
Africancountries.
Cylinders, mostly manufactured locally in our
workshop, conform to ISO standards. Pneumax also
repairs Pneumatic Cylinders and Actuators and
manufactures special functioningPneumatic Cylinders.
In addition to the extensive Pneumax product range,
the following brands are also stocked: ISAIAH Fittings,
TPUCO Tubing, ACL Process Solenoid valves, RFS
Actuators and Angle Piston valves, WEFORMA Shock

CONTROL BOX, STOP BLOCK, MECH
PNEUMATICSTOPBLOCK
Pneumatically controlled and used in
conjunction with a Push button or
electrically operated control box, the
STOP BLOCK DEVICE will allow the
operator to SAFELY move the stop
block upor downfroma SAFE location,
thus visuallydirectingrail traffic.
The control box will send pressurised
air to the double acting pneumatic
actuator inside the stop block, causing
the actuator to turn 90, switching the
stop block arm in an up or down
position. Once the valve has been
switched, the arm will turn the
oppositedirection.
Painted yellow to increase visibility, an
easily removable lid allows quick
maintenance. All enclosure boxes are
supplied with filter, lubricator and
SAFETYlockout valve. Lockout feature
allows the system to vent air, lock the
systemfreefromair witha key lock and
allows SAFE maintenance to be done.
The system comes wi th a ri sk
assessment.

This enclosure box will allow the operator
tocontrol the movement of rail change and
stop block devices SAFELY. All boxes are
painted orange to increase visibility and
fitted with a 5/2 way Push button control
valve, spring return or detent function
(conversiontoelectricvalveoptional).
Auto drain filter inside enclosures will
remove dirt and water from air line.
Lubricator ensures longer service life by
providing lubrication into air line. SAFETY
lock out valve will ensure the air line is free
from air pressure during maintenance.

Pneumatically controlled rail switch
device, fitted with a double acting
pneumatic cylinder will allow the
operator to change the direction of
the rail froma SAFE distance, allowing
hoppers and moving cars to move
SAFELYinthedesireddirection.
With the use of a remotely controlled
push button valve, the air
will be sent to the linear cylinder,
switching the cylinder inside the
f a br i c a t i on a nd c a us i ng t he
connecting arm to change the rail
di recti on. Once the button i s
pneumatic
disengaged, the rail will return to the
oppositeposition.
Our rail switches can be ordered to
function with a traffic light system
(robot). The magnetic piston inside
the cylinder, once in contact with the
magnetic sensors will supply an
electrical signal to the light system
andsignal avisual redor greenlight.
Verti cal Rai l swi tches are al so
available to be used in application
wherethecylinder/sensors needtobe
free from water, installed vertically
these rail switches provide better
protection from water accumulating
aroundtherails.
Fabricated box, painted yellow to
increase visibility, easily removable lid
allows quick maintenance. Enclosure
box supplied with filter, lubricator
and SAFETY lock out valve. Lock out
feature allows the system to vent air,
lock the system free from air with a
keylockandallows SAFEmaintenance
to be done. The system comes with a
riskassessment.
MECHANICALRAILSWITCH
Mechanically controlled rail switch device, once fitted
to rail enables the operator to change the direction of
therail manually. This allows hopper andmovingcars to
moveSAFELYinthedesireddirection.
Mechanical rail switch (Tumbler) incorporates the
latest mechanical technology. We have obtained a
superior product with the characteristics of reliability,
high performance, long cycle life, and the highest level
of corrosionprotection.
