Oceaneerings Hard Line Cutter is a hydraulically-actuated manipulatordeployed tool designed to cut through wire rope to 1-in thick. It consists
of a hardened tool steel blade and side plates, a hydraulic cylinder, and
a T-handle. The blade is attached to the cylinder ram between the side
plates. One side of each of the plates is open to allow the cutter to be
placed on the rope. When the cylinder is extended, the blade acts as a
guillotine, severing the rope between the blade and the side plates. The
cylinder is then retracted to allow for the next cut.

The Hydraulic Power Unit (HPU) is used to test various types of subsea
tooling prior to deployment. The HPU is intended for usage on-deck or
during System Integration Tests (SIT).
A fan-type oil cooler is included in the HPU, which regulates oil temperature
returning to the tank. The system includes a thermal bypass valve,
allowing some heating of the oil if the unit is used in a cold environment.
The frame is provided with four lifting points, one at each corner. A drip
tray is incorporated underneath the frame to collect any oil spillage.

36 - ROV Tooling - Linear Valve Override Tools (LVOT)
www.oceaneering.com/DTS
The Linear Valve Override Tool (LVOT) uses ROV hydraulics to actuate a
gate valve stem on subsea equipment. The LVOT interfaces with API 17D
& 17H (ISO 13628-8) and type A, B, or C flanges. An optional Lock Out
system can be added to hold the valve in position for extended periods of
time without hydraulics.
The Collet Linear Override Tool (CLOT) operates linear actuated gate
valves on subsea manifolds. The tool allows the user to access API B
interface flanges located as deep as 25-in below the manifold cover plate,
provided there is at least a 16-in diameter access hole above the valve.
The CLOT operates on intensified hydraulic power provided by an ROV.
This tool can be ordered for short term or long term subsea use.

The main application of the Tree Crack Open Tool (TCOT) is to keep
tree valves cracked open during installation. Once subsea, the tool can
be removed from the valve using a standard class 1-4 torque tool. This
tool is a low cost solution compared to standard LVOTs for this type of
application.

The Auxiliary Hydraulic Power Unit (AHPU) skid is designed for complete
fluid intervention between the ROV system and subsea equipment via
multiple client specified hot stabs. The neutrally buoyant skid is mounted
under the host ROV, with hydraulic and electrical power supplied by the
ROV.
The Skid is operated from a topside computer mounted in the ROV control
room. Custom software provides the user with real-time information on
pressure, flow and available reservoir volume, along with critical system
information such as water ingress alarms.

The Methanol Injection Skid is mounted beneath the ROV and supplies
32 or 64 gallons of fluid for methanol injection. The skid consists of an
aluminum frame, two or four fluid reservoirs, and a hydraulic pump for
discharging the methanol fluid.
The methanol is contained in two or four sixteen-gallon fluid reservoirs,
which are compensated to external pressure. The reservoir fluid contained
in the injection skid is isolated from the ROVs hydraulic system.
Since methanol is not injected at high pressures, the skid uses a lowpressure pump instead of a high-pressure intensifier. The seals used in
the reservoirs and pumping systems are also compatible with methanol
service.

The Oceaneering Gauge Pack Stab is a Standard 17H dual port stab,
with added isolation valves and gauges. The Gauge pack stab is used
to pressure test systems, so that the pressure can be isolated between
the subsea equipment and the stab. This compact design eliminates the
need for extra hardware on the ROV.

The Oceaneering Quad Zero Leak Stab and Receptacle offers a quick
disconnect type connection for 1 to 4 ports. The stab can be configured
for 2-position directional control as well. Porting on the male side is routed
out and away from the body to aid in hose management. The recessed
male connectors are protected by an impact-resistant nose and the
stab body is hard-anodized aluminum, reducing weight and simplifying
manipulation.

Override Tools
www.oceaneering.com/DTS
Oceaneering Override Tools are purpose built jacking tools for overriding
connectors on a production or drilling riser. The tool is deployed and
powered by the ROV. An onboard pressure intensifier takes the ROV
supplied pressure and increases it by a factor of four. Hydraulic cylinders
are extended to contact hard points on the connector, which continue
extending until the connector is manually unlocked. Oceaneering builds
these tools, with different override forces, to fit industry-standard subsea
connectors of all shapes and sizes.

Oceaneerings FBE & Weldseam Removal Tools remove the factory weld
seam and pipe coating during repair operations. Through experience
and testing, Oceaneering has adapted this tool to function on a variety
of coatings including FBE and PTFE (plastic) up to 3/16-in thick. The
tool integrates with any ROV of opportunity that can provide serial
communications and a 24 V supply to the onboard 5 station hydraulic
valve pack. Oceaneering personnel on the surface operate the tool via
laptop / software controls. Standard designs are available for 10-in to

Oceaneerings Pipe End Prep Tools are designed to remove burrs from
the ID and OD edges of a cut pipeline. The prepared pipe end is less likely
to damage packer seals during grip and seal repair clamp installation, or
pigs in future cleaning operations. The low hydraulic flow requirement
makes these tools ideal for any ROV of opportunity. Various sizes of the
pipe end prep tool are available and built for pipe ranging from 10-in to
24-in. Customized versions are also available.

The Oceaneering Internal Cutting Tool (ICT) uses Abrasive Water Jet
Cutting (AWJC) technology to sever piles, caissons, and braces internally
at least 15ft below the mudline, or to cut jacket legs or risers mid-water.
ICT cuts are clean and smooth allowing for safe and easy recovery of
piles through the jacket. The ICT is either crane deployed or deployed via
the Oceaneering Pile Deployment System. This system cuts pipe sizes
from 15in to 120in in diameter.
