Craft Afrika is a social enterprise based in Nairobi. Our mission is to enable craft entrepreneurs build sustainable business. We achieve this mission through two strategic programs- knowledge/skills sharing and market development.
We are looking to bring on board a team member who will assist with our fundraising efforts. We are looking for an out-of-the-box thinker, someone who is passionate about the arts, exudes tonnes of confidence and has great interpersonal skills.
Starting mid June 2014, the fundraising intern will have three main tasks
i. Develop a clear & cohesive budget for Craft Afrika ii. Design creative fundraising strategies iii. Implement these fundraising strategies
Desired skills and Experience
i. Proven success record in fund development ii. Ability to build, develop and retain strong, positive relationships with major public and private sector funders iii. Aggressive and persistent in following up with interested funders/donors iv. Demonstrated computer database management skills (i.e. membership, donor/funders, etc.); v. Sound organizational skills; self-motivated; creative vi. Knowledge of the creative- and more specifically the craft sector in Kenya vii. Team player and a willingness to learn
