COLLAPSE PRfSSURE
API BUI.. ISC3 defines four t.ypes of
collapses t.hat. may occur in a casing and t.hat
vary as a funct.ion of t.he geomet.ry of t.he pipe
Cnominal diamet.er/t.hickness. D/t.) and t.he
grade of t.he st.eel used in it.s manufact.ure.
Tables 1.1.1.1. 1.1.2.10 1.1.3.1. and
1.1.4.1 of API BUI.. !5C3 show t.he D/'t ranges
where each t.ype of collapse occurs.
Collapse pressure is calculat.ed using t.he
values for 0 and t. specified in t.he t.ables.
