G-Datawave - Battelle offers a family of wireless communication links operating in the millimeter-

wave bands to provide up to 20 Gigabit per second operation. These systems offer a data transmission
rate that is many times that of conventional wireless links and work seamlessly with 10G Ethernet
switching systems.

RHC wing: Resistive Heating Coating, a carbon nanotube paint-like material that will provide de-icing capabilities
to both manned and unmanned aircraft. The lightweight, low power coating has the potential to increase mission
length, save maintenance turnaround time and reduce maintenance costs.
Examples of Coating Performance in Simulated End-Application as Anti-icing and De- icing
Resistive Heating on Leading Edge of Wing This testing further shows that Battelle's Resistive
Heating Coating (RHC) is highly effective for providing a light weight, low power anti-icing/de-icing
system.
The Resistive Heating Coating (RHC) has successfully shown anti-icing/de-icing capability as
integrated onto a full size wing at representative flight conditions and multiple test points between
0
0
F and 28F (-18
0
C and -2
0
C). To integrate the electrical leads to the RHC coating, flat braided
copper power leads were fed through insulated holes and epoxied to wing surface. Power
distribution is via alternating +/- leads to form one large parallel circuit. The size and geometry of
each RHC "cell" is custom tailored for each application based on supply voltage, RHC thickness,
etc. The RHC is then spray applied to wing and exposed leads creating one uniform conductive
layer. After the RHC coating has cured the solventless polyurethane clear coating is sprayed
applied to seal and protect the RHC and leads.

Proteus Model
Combining its long range and large cargo capacity, Proteus provides a highly flexible undersea vehicle
that can deliver payloads at distances of hundreds of miles without human intervention in autonomous
mode or transport divers in manned mode. Based on the heritage of the Swimmer Delivery Vehicle
(SDV) built by The Columbia Group and proven in operation with Special Operations Forces Teams,
Proteus is enhanced with cutting edge autonomy software and high energy density batteries by Bluefin
Robotics to dramatically expand the capabilities available to users of underwater vehicles. The vehicle
can be used for a variety of tasks including: payload integration and test; advanced autonomy
development; long range and duration trials; transporting and installing equipment on the sea floor;
inspecting undersea infrastructure such as bridge pilings, subsea pipelines and oil rigs; and transporting
divers and cargo.

REBs: Resource Effective Bioidentification System
Battelle is offering the technology, known as the Resource Effective BioIdentification System (REBS), for U.S.
Department of Defense, homeland security, and other federal biodefense initiatives, and to commercial industries for
contaminant detection, for instance, where sterile production operations must be maintained.
REBS is a rugged, battery-powered system capable of autonomous and continuous use with operating costs of less
than $1 per day per unit (compared to current system costs that can range from $500 - $3,000 per day) and assay
costs of just $0.04 per sample (compared to current systems at over $100 per sample). These cost savings come
from Battelle's new smart technology that eliminates the need for perishable reagents. Instead, REBS relies on a
combination of patented aerosol collection and optical spectroscopy to detect hundreds of threats ranging from
bacteria, viruses and toxins to aerosolized chemicals, and even mixed threats.
