Warning:
This crane is very
heavy and when
it is in its storage position
as shown in fig.23 it provides
the user with a small storage
footprint! Be careful when
manoeuvring in this position
and be sure to place the crane
in a suitable position with its
back against a wall.
If possible tie the crane in
position using a suitable
anchor point.

Repairs must be performed in a dirt-free environment by a qualified person who is familiar with this type
of equipment. All inspections, maintenance and repair procedures must be performed when the folding
mobile crane is free of load (not in use).
CAUSE/SOLUTION
Hydraulic Ram may be low on fluid. With
crane on level surface and fully retracted,
remove the filler plug and add clean
hydraulic fluid to level of filler hole.
Hydraulic Ram may have an air block. Open
the release valve a miniumu of 2 full turns.
Pump the handle at least 20 full srokes to
purge air from the system.
Valves may not be closing completely.
To seat valves;
a) With ram fully retracted, close the
release valve.
b) Raise the jib manually as high as
possible.
c) Open the release valve and allow the jib
to descend and until the ram is fully
retraced once more.

BLEEDING THE SYSTEM
Air can accumulate in the hydraulic system during transit, after
prolonged use or after filling with oil, causing the ram to respond
slowly or in an unstable manner. To remove the air, please follow
these steps.
1. Use the handle to turn the release valve anti-clockwise to
lower the arm to its lowest point (see figs. 15 & 17).
2. Remove the filler plug (see fig. 18).
3. Pump the handle 5 or 6 times to bleed air out of the system.
4. Use the handle to turn the release valve clockwise until tight.
5. Finally, replace the filler plug and test pump the lifting ram. If
it is still slow to respond bleed again.
LUBRICATING
Use light oil on all moving parts.
WHEN NOT IN USE
Wipe clean with a slightly oiled cloth. Store with the release valve
open.
STORAGE
Turn the release valve anti-
clockwise to lower the jib to
its lowest position and place
the handle back in its storage
place (fig. 18).
Remove the spring clips and
the locking pins from forward
hole securing the legs whilst
in use (Fig. 19), leaving the
rear pivot bolt in place.
Lift the legs one at a time into
the vertical position (see
Fig.20) and insert the locking
pins and spring clips into the
hole above the pivot hole
securing the legs for storage
(Fig. 21 & 22).
TOOLS NEEDED: 14mm, 22mm, 24mm and 27mm sockets or spanners.
During assembly, only tighten the castors with a socket wrench. Hand tighten all other bolts until
assembly is complete, final step is to tighten the rest of the bolts with a socket wrench. You will find
that some of the parts of the crane are already assembled. Please take care and seek assistance
when required as some of the parts are heavy.

1. Fix the 90mm swivel
castors (8) to the
rear of the base (2)
and the front of the
legs (3) using the
M8 x 25mm
hexagon bolts, nuts
& washers (18).
Fig.4.
2. Fix the 75mm swivel
castors (9) to the
front of the base (2)
using the M8 x
25mm hexagon
bolts,
nuts & washers
(18). Fig.4.
3. Attach legs (3) and
storage braces (22)
to the base (2),
securing each with a
M18 x 125 hexagon
bolt,
nut & washer (20)
and locking pin and
spring clip (10)
Figs. 5 & 6.
4. Lift the main post
(1) upright and lift
into position on the
base, fixing with
M14 x 95mm
hexagon bolts, nuts
& washers
(16) Figs.7 & 7a.
5. Locate the support
braces (4) and fix to:
the main post (1)
using a M16 x 100mm bolt, nut and washer. Then fix to the
base (2) using M16 x 115mm bolts, nuts and washers.

1. Lower the arm fully Fig 17.
2. Remove the oil filler plug (See fig.18) and check the oil level. It
should be at the bottom of the filler plug hole.
3. Always follow the precautions advised by the oil manufacturer.
4. Using hydraulic oil ISO VG.22.32, fill until the oil is at the
bottomof the filler plug screw hole. DO NOT USE BRAKE FLUID.
5. Pump the handle 5 or 6 times to bleed air out of the system.
6. Replace the filler plug.
Avoid mixing different grades of oil.
After long periods of use, the oil should be replaced with new oil.

Before each use of the crane it is important that it is thoroughly inspected for leaks, damage
or any loose or missing parts.
The crane must be inspected immediately if it has been subjected to any abnormal loads or
shock. This should be done by a suitably qualified person.
Note: Refer to the vehicle manufacturers approved service manual for the correct engine removal procedure.

OPERATING
6. Attach the bottom
of the lifting ram (7)
to the flanges on
the main post (1)
using a M16 x
90mm bolt (14), nut
and washer as
shown in Fig.9, pg.5
7. Add the jib (5) to
the main post (1),
securing with a
M18 x 110mm
hexagon bolt, nut
& washer (21)
See Fig.10.
8. Attach the top of
the lifting ram (7)
to the jib (5)
securing with a
M16 x 75mm
hexagon bolt, nut
& washer (13)
See Fig.11.
9. Attach the hook &
chain (19) onto the
end of the sliding
jib extension (6)
with
a M14 x 75mm
bolt, nut, flat
washer and spring
washer Fig.12.
10. Close the release
valve by turning
clockwise with the
notched end of the
handle as shown in
Fig.13. Use the
handle to pump up
the lifting ram until
the jib is in a
horizontal position,
See Fig12a.
11. Slide the jib
extension (6) into
the jib (5) and
secure with a M16

4. Only lift directly above the load and not at
an angle.
5. Sl owl y turn the rel ease val ve anti -
clockwise to lower the arm.
6. The crane is not a transporting device and
may only be used to reposition the load
ready for working on. Lower the load and
jib to the lowest position before moving.
Do not move the l oad i n a si deways
direction. The crane is not designed
to hold the weight for a long period.
7. Lower the l oad onto a sui tabl e and
secure working base, being fully aware
of its proximity to yourself and other
people around you.
8. When the load has been successfully
lowered and secured, remove the harness
or support beam, retract the jib, open the
valve and position the crane in a safe
location.
Make sure the front legs are locked in the down position with
locking pins in place before applying load and or raising the boom.
Be aware of the load weight. Always position the sliding jib at
the correct location for the load you are lifting;
1/
4 ton,
1/
2 ton,
3/
4 ton or 1 ton.
1. To lift, locate the notches in the handle on the release valve
pegs and turn clockwise to close the valve. (see fig. 15)
2. Place the open end of the handle into the pump socket and
pump the handle up and down to raise the jib (see fig.16).
Pull out the jib extension and select the desired lifting
capacity, making sure that the nut, bolt and washer are
replaced. (see fig. 14 opposite)
3. Connect the load using an appropriate certified sling or
support beam. Ensure you know the weight of the load and
that it is below that of the capacity of the crane at the jib
position you are using. When removing engines, use only
lifting points recommended by the manufacturer.
