Abstract WirlessUSB flash devices are meant for storing data
without using USB cables and USB ports of PC for reading and
writing. These WirelessUSB Flash devices are same as normal
USB flash devices but some additional features and components
are added for supporting wireless data transition.

Keywords WirelessUSB Flash Devices and Wireless Pen drives.
I. INTRODUCTION
This paper describes the system architecture, flow chart and
use case diagram of WirelessUSB flash devices.
WirelessUSB flash devices are same as that of normal USB
flash devices like pen drives but with additional feature of
wireless data transition.
II. SYSTEM ARCHITECTURE
The overall system architecture is shown in the following
figure 1. The System mainly consists of controller unit,
Bluetooth, wirelessUSB, memory unit, display keyboard, USB
2.0 and power supply unit.

A. Controller Unit
The main purpose of controller unit is to drive all the
components and devices present in the system. System
processing, memory allocation, task management and
everything will be done at controller unit. ARM controller or
AVR controller can be used.

B. NAND Flash
It is the memory unit which is used to store the data.

C. Display Unit
The purpose of display unit is to show the contents present
in the device. Also to show how much data is transferring and
which data is transferring.

D. Keyboard
Keyboard is used for switching the device, selecting the
contents present in the device and for sending and receiving
the data.

E. USB 2.0
USB 2.0 is used for transferring data from the device to PC.
Fast data transfer can be achieved by using the USB 2.0 unit.
It should be in such a way that whenever we interface USB to
PC, this device should charge automatically.

F. Bluetooth
It is one of the wireless protocols used for wireless data
transmission. It is low cost and most of the people are very
familiar with Bluetooth thats why we used Bluetooth also.
Switch on the Bluetooth transfer the data and then switch off
the Bluetooth.

G. WirelessUSB
[ 1]

It is also one of the wireless PAN technologies which is
used for wireless data transmission with data rates up to
480Mbps.

H. Power supply unit
Power supply/ Battery backup unit should be interfaced in
such a way that whenever the USB flash device plugged to
laptops or PCs they should charge their batteries automatically.

III. DEPLOYMENT ARCHITECTURE

Following figure 2 describes the deployment architecture
design of the system how it works and how the data can be

exchanged with each other using either of the Bluetooth
technology and WirelessUSB technology.

IV. FLOW CHART OF THE SYSTEM

The following figure 3 flow chart of the system explained
step by step as follows. First switch on the Bluetooth or enable
the WirelessUSB of both the devices. Now identify or enquire
the other device from each device individually. Pairing should
be needed between the two devices for data communication.
At the stage of pairing, a security key will be generated and
that should be exchanged between the two devices. After
pairing both devices are ready to exchange the data between
them.
The notations used in the following figure are as follows:

Notations used in the flow chart are as follows:

VI. ADDITIONAL FEATURES
Display unit is interfaced to display the data present in the
device at the same time to display the amount of data that is
transferring. Keyboard is also interfaced for selecting the
contents present in the device. Controller unit plays major role
that is driving all the interfaced devices.
Data protection can be achieved as only authorized
persons or authorized PCs can exchange data with these types
of devices. Storage capacity can be expandable. Data can be
exchanged in two ways (wired and wireless).

VII. CONCLUSIONS
This paper describes the system architecture, flow chart
and use case diagram of WirelessUSB flash devices. At the
same time security is provided to the data in the device as this
device can exchange data only with authorized persons or
authorized PCs.
Finally we can conclude that the devices which dont
have USB ports like cellular phones can directly transmit/
receive data to/from these types of wireless USB flash
devices.
