&. +o program your )*) drive you need to take it out of the $bo% &'( case and then connect it to
your 1;. If you try to power your &'( )*) using your console it will log an error as unconnected
from the motherboard /center green light flashing on the RO, panel 4 this is a documented possible
ban flag so be aware2. +o be totally safe /and because it's a great tool to have2 !e recommend you
use a ;K& 1ro or ;K& ,ite to power the drive.
9. +o power your )*) )rive when prepping to connect to your 1; you need an $bo% connectivity
kit. +eam $ecuter make the best kits on the market and the latest versions are called the $#;:+#R
;K& 4 there are different types of $#;:+#R ;K& depending on how advanced you want to get.
+he most used kit is the ;K& 1ro /Rev )2. )on't be fooled by copycats on the market that call their
kits ';onnectivity Kit v&' 4 these are BO+ $ecuter products and are cheap rip offs2
8. For your 1; to recogniEe your )*) drive you need to have a data connection. +he best tool on
the market currently is the $&'(:5. 1RO which is specially design to access all known drives in
all 1ortIO and !in"1I methods for easy access by tools such as Aungle Flasher. Cou can also use a
5"+" connection however this can cause meany headaches and issues with drivers F O5 etc. ost
5"+" connections work 4 however some don't work so well> particularly some onboard 5"+"
chipsets. if you had to use a 5"+" card we would recommend that you get a *I"'901 5ata card.
Cou can buy them from www.via'901.com
'. #very )*) drive is tied to each $bo% with a serial number known as the drive key. Cou need to
have a copy of your drive key saved at all times. !ith the drive key it doesn't matter if you screw up
your drive 4 you can always flash "BC drive with your drive key and it will then work on your
$bo%. If you ever have a faulty )*) drive and do not have the drive key you will not be able to get
another drive working /not without very advanced techni6ues called the A+"@ 3";K 4 so of course
getting the drive key is important 4 this is done easily when connecting your )*) drive to your 1;
=. +here are many programs available to readFwrite to your )*) drive. +he best tool to use in our
opinion is Aungle Flasher. make sure you read the Aungle Flasher anual 4 it gives you all the info
you need.
