8.4 QUEENS GAMBIT FRENCH OOB BOOK
8.41 FRENCH TAF TABLE (EX. RULE 5.25)
How the French TAF Works:
The French Side receives Reinforcements as Drafts or packets, and may receive one (1) Draft per Year, during the TAF step.
Drafts of SPs are used to Form Units, entering play, per KR&Os 8.4, in any eligible hexes in France.
Drafts of Auxiliaries are placed in the Available Box and may be used immediately.
Unit counters and Leaders are not associated directly with these Drafts, and are always available.
Additional Restrictions:
No Drafts may be received until the Family Compact Strategic Event (6.33) has occurred.
The current French Political Stance must have reached Minimal Bourbon Support or better at some point during the past Year in order
to receive a Draft.
Strategic Event DArgenson Takes Charge (Ex. Rule 6.23), plus the receipt of Draft 1, is required in order to receive Drafts 2, 3, and 4.
In addition, the French Political Stance must have reached Partial Bourbon Support or better at some point during the past Year for
Draft 2 to be received, Full Bourbon Support for Draft 3, and Maximum Bourbon Support for Draft 4. Drafts must be received in
numerical order.
If Strategic Event Guerre dans les Pays-Bas (Ex. Rule 6.24) intervenes, receipt of Drafts 3 and/or 4 is blocked until the A Year in
Provence Mandated Offensive (6.4) has occurred, after the Guerre dans les Pays-Bas Event occurs. If either of these Drafts have been
received, they remain in play.
If the A Year in Provence Mandated Offensive (6.4) occurs, Drafts 3 & 4 are available to enter play simultaneously, and prior to the
next TAF Turn. Current French Political Stance is immaterial. Calculate their Turn of entry normally (8.413), counting from the last
TAF Turn. At a minimum, however, they must enter play in the Turn after the Allies entered France and triggered the Event.
Auxiliaries may not be received prior to their printed Date of Service.
