Bioscrypt, a world renowned manufacturer of Biometric Access Control devices, has been the market leader for biometrics in
access control since 2006, holding a market share of over 13%. Now under the wing of the Safran Group, Bioscrypt is now
known as MorphoTrust USA. Even under this new banner Bioscrypt is still at the core, producing the reliable biometric
systems that customers around the globe have come to trust and depend on.
Bioscrypts product offering is centered on a handful of biometric devices each of which can be ordered with a wide array of
options. The myriad configurations available on these readers can lead to confusion in determining which model to order
when specific features are required, especially when it comes to readers that integrate credentialing in combination with
biometrics. These multi-factor authentication scenarios tend to create a headache for site supervisors, building managers and
installers alike. In order to simplify the process, this How-To-Order guide is designed to assist in selecting the correct device
and part number for the needs of your application.
The current Bioscrypt line of products is divided into four device lines:
4G V-Station Reader
The standard model of the 4G Series, offering a color LCD
screen, full alphanumeric keypad, Biometric Fingerprint
Scanner and an optional credential reader
4G V-Flex Reader
The power of the 4G V-Station, including multi-factor
authentication, without the LCD screen, keypad interface or
bulky size, also available in Weather Resistant Models
4G PIV Station Reader
A Government Class version of the popular V-Station, with
support for a combination of biometrics and Personal Identity
Verification (PIV) credentials and Transportation Worker
Identification Credentials (TWIC)
4G FingerVein Reader
An advanced biometric solution that (as the name suggests)
reads the veins in your finger, as opposed to reading your
fingerprint. This method of biometric identification provides
much higher levels of accuracy and is far more difficult to
falsify

Credentials that operate over a 125kHz frequency, used primarily for access control applications only, typically with a short
read range of only a few inches
HID iClass
One of two supported 13.56 MHz frequency based credentials, ideal for use in installations that already support the iClass
smart card as an entry credential or installations where a combined access control and secondary data storage tool are
required, such as linked bank cards for hotels or storing biometric data on the card for verification
MIFARE / DESFIRE

The second of the two supported 13.56MHz frequency credentials, ideal for use in installations where MIFARE or DESFIRE
cards are already deployed in an access control system or the format is preferred over iClass as a smart card option
OmniClass
A specially designed HID card reader that can communicate with either iClass, MIFARE or DESFIRE credentials, ideal for
installations that utilize any combination of the three credentialing types
Wireless LAN
Wireless communication over a local-area-network is integrated into the reader
No Wiegand Output
Wiegand communication is removed, for single door access control applications where the reader both authenticates and
provides the response (unlocking door, lifting the gate, etc)

The 4G V-Station is Bioscrypts flagship product. Featuring a full color LCD screen,
integrated alphanumeric keypad and robust software for administrating the device,
coupled with some of the best biometrics in the industry and (unless purchasing the
Base Model) the inclusion of a credential format for multi-factor authentication. The
4G V-Station is ideal for a plethora of applications, including access control and time-
and-attendance centric functions. The 4G V-Station is intended for use in indoor
environments.

4G V-Station Lite Reader

The 4G V-Station Lite is more than just the little brother for the 4G V-Station. The 4G
V-Station Lite offers the same performance and reliability as the full-sized 4G V-
Station, but in a more compact and convenient form factor. It features a 1.5 screen,
3 navigational keys and full keypad for dual factor authentication with the base
model and multi-factor authentication when combined with a model that supports
Proximity or the smart card standards.

Weather Resistant Reader

The Weather Resistant 4G V-Station offers the same performance as the standard V-
Station, but with a housing that features a built-in hood and specialized components
to resist adverse weather conditions, with a temperature range between -5F and
140F. The 4G V-Station is IP65 rated.

The 4G V-Flex Lite is the smaller form factor version of the standard 4G V-Flex. Its the
perfect choice for biometric access control when looking for a reader that can perform
like the rest of the 4G V-Series, but space is an issue. The smallest reader in the entire
line, the 4G V-Flex Lite is ideal for mullion or single gang mounting and can operate in
tandem with the 4G SecureControl I/O panel for additional security.

The 4G V-Flex Reader is the ideal secondary device in a Bioscrypt installation or an
ideal primary device in installations where a keypad and LCD arent required. The 4G
V-Flex can handle Standalone Door Access Control (SDAC) functions just like its larger
counterpart, but with half the size. It can also be remotely managed and has field
replaceable sensors.

The 4G V-Station Extreme is ideal for installations where the reader will be subject to
constant and extreme weather conditions such as severe downpours, ice and snow.
The 4G V-Station Extreme features the Lumidigm Sensor for consistent outdoor
authentication, regardless of what the conditions are. It also features fake fingerprint
and anti-spoofing capabilities to ensure access to only those who are supposed to
have it. Its temperature range of -13F to 158F ensures that it will operate in sub-
zero climates as well as the blazing heat.

4G PIV-TWIC Station The 4G PIV-TWIC Station is a government level fingerprint reader, providing
authentication for government issued Personal Identity Verification (PIV) credentials
as well as Transportation Worker Identification Credentials (TWIC). With support for
MIFARE and DESFIRE credentials, this is an ideal triple-factor authentication device for
installations that require use of the aforementioned government credentials. The 4G
PIV-TWIC station features a 2.5 inch color screen, is full IP and POE enabled, is TWIC
ICE approved and utilizes a FIPS201 Approved 500dpi Sensor.

The 4G FingerVein Reader is one of Bioscrypts most revolutionary technologies.
Instead of reading the users fingerprint, it scans the entire finger using near-infrared
light to map the veins and verify this biometric data against a template. This
technology makes it nearly impossible to duplicate or forge biometric data to gain
unauthorized access, providing the highest level of security in Bioscrypts product
offerings to date. The 4G FingerVein options provide up to triple-factor authentication
when including credentials, a pin and your biometric data.
4G V-Flex

The Weather Resistant 4G V-Flex offers the same dependable performance as the
standard 4G V-Flex, but with a weather resistant body that can withstand
temperatures between -5F and 140F. The 4G V-Flex is IP65 rated for outdoor use
and features the same Single Door Access Control functionality as the standard 4G V-
Flex, as well as being full IP and POE enabled.
4G PIV-TWIC Station Extreme The 4G PIV-TWIC Station Extreme is the toughest of the tough, with an IP65 rating for
extreme weather environment such as downpours, ice and snow. The 4G PIV-TWIC
Extreme provides the same performance and features as the standard 4G PIV-TWIC
PICTURE Station, but instead uses a Lumidigm Sensor for severe weather authentication, which
can identify users with wet, greasy, severely dry, cut or damaged fingers, with support
for the same PIV and TWIC credentials as well.

(4GCR _ ) SecureControl and your other 4G Series devices to function as a satellite card reader

SecureAdmin / SecureAdminLite SecureAdmin and SecureAdminLite are the software administration packages for
Bioscrypt products, allowing you to remotely view all transactions performed on a
device, as well as enroll and deactivate users and other various functions
