HOOD ORNAMENT: In 45 games between Double-A Harrisburg and Triple-
A Syracuse, OF Destin Hood is hitting an organizational-best .339 with 9 dou-
bles, 5 home runs, 18 RBI, 24 runs scored and 8 stolen bases...moreover, he is
in the midst of a 15-game hitting streak, the longest by a Chief this season and
the longest active streak in the International League...during the streak, he is
hitting .383 (23-for-60) with 4 doubles, 3 homers, 5 RBI and 9 runs scored...
on May 26 at Rochester (MIN), Hood posted his 3rd-career 2-home run
game, rst since Aug. 9, 2011 while with Single-A Potomac.
TATTED UP: Through 10 starts, RHP Ryan Tatusko has posted a 2.30 ERA (16
ER/62.2 IP), good for 2nd-best among Nationals farmhands and 6th-best in the
International League...he has allowed 2 ER or fewer in all but one of his starts
and has posted a .203 batting average against this season...Tatusko was acquired
along with RHP Tanner Roark from Texas in exchange for INF Cristian Guzman,

NO LAFFEY MATTER: On May 23 vs. Pawtucket (BOS), LHP Aaron Laey tossed
a 4-hit shutout, striking out 9 and walking one, in Syracuses 4-0 victory...on the
season, the Cumberland, MD native is 5-2 with a 3.66 ERA in 8 games/5 starts.

BE LIKE MIKE: OF Michael Taylor ranks among Eastern League hitters in home

ami product also ranks near the top of the Carolina League in doubles (T4th,
13), hits (T5th, 51), and stolen bases (5th, 13).

SPANN-ING: In 10 games/one start between Hagerstown and Potomac, LHP Mat-
thew Spann is 5-0 with 3 saves and a 1.89 ERA (7 ER/33.1 IP)...his 5 wins are tied
for 3rd-most in the organization...if he qualied, his ERA would rank him 2nd in
the Nationals system.
