Method & Materials
Power Generation Department Colony Weaving Mills is fully-contained and self-sufficient facility with its in-house continuous and reliable power generation facility with 100% backup power arrangement. The Power Generation department with its Heat Recover System is designed to generate enough hot water to fire the chilling system for the entire facility, along with producing more than 50% of the steam required for the sizing operation. CTM has EIGHT generators including 16V25 Nohab HFO with 1.6MW generation capability, 18V34ST with duel fuel converter and V type pistons, 16V32 Vasa, 16V32 DFC 98-99% diesel and 1-2% gas, 612JGS of Jenbacker company 1.6MW generation capability and pure gas engine. VARTSILA ENGINE CONTROL SYSTEM (VECS) 3000 is mounted on 32DF engine. Although its an obsolete one but working properly in CTM. VECS 8000 is also mounted on one of their engines. This is to improve the efficiency of engine by having control on valves opening and closing. CTM has two FESCO supplies each of 4.8MW. Spinning Department This unit is equipped with the latest machines. In the fiber is converted into yarn, and as this the quality of yarn is very important in textile sector so spinning unit have a lot of importance. It starts from the mixing department where the bales of cotton are mixed and at that section the most visible impurities are taken out. This mixed cotton is then taken to the BLOW ROOM by a machine. After going through a process it is taken to the CARD ROOM for the next process. In this step the cotton is carded. The production manager checks the cotton and it comes in the drums type containers. These drums rotate and cotton comes out in specific form called as pones. After the attaining of Cotton from Card which is also weak this is further passed back to blow room process called ROVING and then cotton is sent to RING process. In this step small pones are developed for further process. Weaving Department: Very similar to the spinning units, the weaving units of CTM are really very well equipped with the latest machinery to make the best possible product for the customers to gain their satisfaction. Most of the machines in the weaving unit of CTM are of new technology & CTM has a very good check on the quality of fabric produced by its Quality Control department. The end product of the spinning unit is the starting point of the weaving unit. When the cones of the yarn are brought to weaving unit, it is then taken to the WARPING ZONE in which the beams are prepared. These beams are then taken to the SIZING SECTION where the different chemicals are applied to the yarn so that the weaving of the fabric can be done with the minimum breakage of yarn. After this warp and weft are passed over to AIR GET looms so that the yarn is converted into weaved product. When the greige is made, then it is taken to the INSPECTION UNIT, where a lot of quality check is done. Then this GRAY FABRIC is packed according to desire of costumer either in rolls or folds. This process is called as FOLDING. Processing Department: Processing Unit of every textile mill has a paramount importance because it actually provide the finish fabric product which is either sent to customer either as a piece good or as made up after converting the fabric into the required stitched product. The processing unit of CTM comprises of the following department: Bleaching Department Finishing Department Printing & Dyeing Department Folding Department A brief overview on the Processing capacity of CTM has been discussed as follow: Bleaching Department: The bleaching department of CTM is equipped with the latest machinery to compete with the market. Bleaching department has the following machines: Singeing De-sizing Mercerizing The bleaching department is like a back bone of the processing unit. After weaving mill, the fabric is brought to the bleaching department where it is prepared on the above machines so as to be prepared for the Printing or Dyeing. The Quality Control people ensure the Quality of work in the Bleaching to fulfill the collective goal. Printing & Dyeing Department: The Printing department of CTM is working at its best & producing really good stuff. After the printing from the rotaries, the route of the fabric depends on the dye class. The fabric treated with pigment dye is taken to the curing machine & from there it is taken to the calendar after the required stenter finish. In dyeing department one colored fabric is produced. Finishing Department: Finishing department of any textile mill has a very significant importance because it acts like a hub in the Processing. Almost every fabric which goes through processing unit, it has to be passed through the finishing department. During printing and dyeing if dust is present on fabric, dye doesnt fix on fabric. This problem is resolved by using different color markers at this department. Environment
Due to very high temperature in processing unit, it is very difficult to work in hot and moist environment therefore there should be proper ventilation system. It is very important for the ergonomics of workers. Exhaust fans should be place above the machine/steamer to reduce the heat. The waste gases and waste water should be retreated to keep environment clean save the sources.

SHORT ESSAY ON How does a person make a good first impression in an interview? Here are some tips that will help you impress your interviewer. Work on your handshake: Dont offer up a flimsy or sweaty hand. Instead when you meet with prospective employers or interviews, offer a firm handshake. This is good way to show your confidence. According to our religion Islam, this act is only appreciable for males. Get the practice: If you find yourself being offered an interview for a job you are not really interested in, go on the interview anyway; you can make contacts for future job opportunities and get valuable practice. Be enthusiastic: Bring a positive attitude to your interview. Most interviewers wont even give a second thought to someone who has a negative presence or seems like they almost need to be talked into the job. You are selling yourself, and part of you is the positive approach you will bring to the office every morning. Prepare for the multiplicity of questions interviewers often ask, such as: o Tell me about yourself. o What is the greatest value you can bring to us? o Why do you want to leave your present position? o What qualities do you admire in others? o What are your salary expectations? o What does success mean to you? o What is the most stressful situation you have experienced at work within the past year, and how did you handle it? o What would your current (or past) employer say about your work?
Prepare questions to ask them, such as:
o What are the greatest challenges youre facing in your industry? o Is your industry/business growing? o What is the most important thing I can do to help within the first 30 days of my employment? 60 days? 90 days? o What did you like most about the person who previously held this position? o To the interviewer: What excites you about this job? What do you like most about this company? I would like to know something about your background and how you came to work here? o What main factors do you attribute to your growth? o What do you attribute to the success of your company? o What makes you better than your nearest competitor? Ask for the job: Tell your interviewer that you want that job. So many people leave without ever saying that want to be hired. It sounds so simple, but its true.
SUGESSIONS o Crescent Textile Mills has ignored than local market. So there should be an importance to local market because it has a good repute regarding its products. o There is lack of proper training programs especially for workers. They learn through experience and from seniors thats the reason of high rate of wastage during production. o There is no job commitment among the employees. o There is no proper attention towards Russian market. Crescent Textile Mills can get big orders from Russia. If attention will not be given towards this side there is a chance that any other competitor can introduce its products in Russia and this market can be lost.
CONCLUSION Crescent textile mill is one of the leading groups in Pakistan. The system, the management style, the policies & decentralized decision making environment is really remarkable. In this era of technology, the Information is the key to success in the business. This means that the successful businessman will be who will have the right information at the right time. This comment leads to the conclusion that the Information Sharing Process should really be improved.
