Honestly I dont have any idea what is DuPont when Siti introduced it first to me for
KOM 5315 study trip in this semester. Im a little bit worried because Dr Zul had a
very high expectation for this trip and also previously, our seniors went to the big
companies such as Air Asia, Berjaya Group, PNB and recently to SIC. But, we
decided to go because Siti said that the working environment is kind of like the
Google concept. Before we went to the company, I had a chance to glance through
the companys website to find out about what is DuPont and when I found out that
the company is started since 1802 I just become very excited and cant wait to go
there.

The global anthem is the example that most organization should have to
deliver same messages to all the employees. With 4 core values it reflects the way
that DuPont work every day and create the same pattern with the employees across
the countries. The story that they terminate one of the employees who do not wear a
safety belt, maybe it seem ridiculous but when you work at the company that the
safety and health is the first priority so you should be a role model not just to your
family but to represent the companys value. Im impress how they value the
employees with the town hall session especially when they want to convince the
employees to move to KL Sentral after 15 years at Shah Alam. The employees can
choose how they want to office to be like even for the color scheme. I think it is a
good way to increase their commitment to the company. When you love your office
then of course you will motivated to go there every day. The hospitality suite that
they have, and all the facilities such as gym, medical room, is all what the employees
want. And the idea of creating the open space to release the negative energy is one
of the good innovations to apply when I come back to office. When you put highest
ethical behavior in your core values, it will reflect your employees attitude so that
you can easily trust them. The concept of working from home, flexi working hour
cannot be easily done if you cannot trust them. I just really inspired by Encik Azham,
the Corporate Communication Leader who just not very humble to answer all of our
questions but the most important thing how he manage the corporate communication
section for Malaysia and Philippines. The concept of global team and diversity of
nationalities can make you out of your comfort zone because you have to compete
and make yourself one step ahead.

Lastly, it is not just I value the knowledge sharing session from Encik Azham,
the minimalize concept of office environment that I can adapt to my organization but
the most important thing their hospitality throughout the visit especially enjoying Sam
Delis nasi lemak and pizza with the KL view at Hospitality Suite. Of course we cant
say no in a yes manner for this. Now, I heart DuPont as one of the lean organization
and it will be one of the company that I looking forward to join for.
