AIMS: during the lesson, the students will:
Learn new thematic vocabulary related to planet / environment issues
Speak about planet issues, expressing their own opinions
Use the conditional clause correctly
Learn how to get the main idea from a listening text, but also how to look for details
(skimming and scanning)
Learn how to design a poster with ecological message
Learn how to protect environment

OBJECTIVES: at the end of the lesson, the students will be able to:
List environmental issues
Describe the environmental impact of humans
Understand that wrong human behavior that generates planet/ environmental issues is
harmful to all living things
Give examples of ways we can reduce, reuse and recycle waste
Ask for opinion and give positive or negative opinion
Express necessity, obligation, recommendation, suggestion
Use conditional correctly
Listen - extensively and intensively - to a text for detailed and general
understanding of the text

ANTICIPATED PROBLEMS: I anticipated the following problems:
Students may find difficult to identify planet/ environmental issues
Students could be unfamiliar with the topic
Students may find difficult to understand the video clips related to the topic
Students may find difficult to design a poster
Students might be shy at the first interaction with a new teacher

WARM-UP

and sit the cards on their desks. Students

LEAD IN
- Teacher ask Ss to crumple the tent
card made of paper. After that, T ask Ss
to bring it back to the original form, fact
that it is almost impossible. T also brings a
rope and also demonstrates the above idea
- T presents the topic of the lesson. The
same thing happens to anything we destroy
or damage. Even if we can recover part of
that thing , it will never be the same..

- students are shown video clips with
environmental issues.
-T draws a word-web diagram on the
blackboard
- teacher asks students to list as many
planet issues as possible. Ss work in pairs
(deskmate) For each correct answer, a
student gains 10 pounds (virtually, of
course). At the end of the presentation,
several students say what they would have
done with that sum of money if it had been
real.

-T divides class in 3 groups . each group
has to design a poster, including ways we
can reduce, reuse, recycle waste, be
environment friendly.
-each poster should be creative, colourful,
and to present 10 tips to be eco at school, at
home, as a tourist.
