Workshop Overview
The Institute of Internal Auditors(IIA) Kenya has organized
this study tour and conference in Dubai which aims at getting
Audit Committee Members and Chief Audit Executives to
study from the best and in one of the leading emerging
destinations in the world.
During this study tour and workshop, Audit Committee
Members and Chief Audit Executives will discuss how they
can support their organizations to look to the future with a
clear vision, goals, and objectives together with strategies
and plans for achieving them.
Aware that the path to achieving those objectives is always
uncertain, the workshop will discuss factors that may be
external or internal to the organisation which create sources
of uncertainty, and define best ways to respond to these
sources.
The relationship between the Audit Committee and Board of
Directors is an important one. It sets the tone-at-the-top for
the rest of the organization and influences other important
aspects of the company.
The role of the Audit Committee has significantly expanded in
recent years. Realizing this, the board of directors has begun
to shift some of the audit committee's responsibilities to
separately chartered committees to create a balance of duties
and ensure they are effectively executed. These additional
committees have often included a compensation committee,
disclosure committee, and nominating and governance
committee.
The workshop and the study tour will explore all these and
many other important topics and subjects relevant topics.
