&artiular, %ulti&le linear regressions were *or%ulated,
wit$ in*or%ation about 48 t$er%al and 37 &$otovoltai
e<isting and &ro#eted solar &lants, to e<&lain t$e variations
a%ong t$e invest%ent ost o* t$e di**erent &ro#ets( ;e
deter%ine a li%ited nu%ber o* variables t$at ade@uately
e<&lain t$e variations o* t$e invest%ent ost o* solar energy
&ower &lants( 1sing t$ese results, 11 te$nologies were
si%ulated in *our loations to assess t$e eono%i i%&at
o* t$ese &ro#ets in ter%s o* t$e $ange indued in t$e
%arginal ost o* t$e syste% and t$e net &resent value o* t$e
44 &ro#ets( ;e s$ow t$at installing a solar &ower &lant in
t$e nort$ o* C$ile will not bring net eono%i bene0ts *or
t$e &ower setor unless urrent onditions on *ators su$
