Reporters all locations in Canada
We are looking for reporters to cover assignments, file news briefs and features to our website. The most
successful candidates will demonstrate familiarity with NewCanadianMedia.ca and our mission, which is outlined
in About Us. We recommend you invest some time reviewing our site to make sure your work aligns with our
mission. Our audience includes all Canadians, but we represent the immigrant perspective.
We specifically encourage multimedia content.
Website Content Manager (2 positions)
New Canadian Media is looking for dynamic, highly motivated recent graduates with experience and skills in web
content publishing, writing and editing for the web, and site management.
The website content manager will be responsible for publishing new content that is consistent with style and
editorial guidelines. In addition to writing, editing, and proofreading, this professional will continually provide
feedback to the web development team to enhance user experience.
Candidates are encouraged to review our site before submitting an application and be familiar with all editorial
aspects. The following attributes will be essential:
strong attention to detail;
respect for the voice of contributors;
ability to work with video and images;
sensitive to deadlines;
a team player


Please provide at least two professional references who can attest the quality of your work. One
reference must be from a journalism professor or supervising editor.
Responsibilities
Publish content (requires working with Joomla content management software)
Maintain a consistent editorial style throughout the site
Copy edit and proofread all new web content
Work with freelancers
Respect the sites information architecture
Work co-operatively with key editorial colleagues

Executive Assistant
We are looking for an Executive Assistant to assist the Publisher of New Canadian Media.
Purpose: To enhance Publisher's effectiveness by providing information management support; representing the
Publisher to others.
Executive Assistant Job Duties:
Conserves Publisher's time by reading, researching, and routing correspondence;
Drafting letters and documents; collecting and analyzing information; initiating communications.
Maintains Publisher's appointment schedule by planning and scheduling meetings, conferences,
teleconferences, and travel.
Represents the Publisher
Works with NCMs board of directors on scheduling, coordination, etc.
Qualifications:
A college diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience
Previous experience in an administrative position
Strong PC skills i.e. Word, Excel, Power Point and MS Outlook
Extremely detail oriented and error-free
Proven ability to effectively prioritize work flow
Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
Ability to exercise good judgement, show initiative and be proactive
High standards of ethics and confidentiality to handle sensitive information
