Im Back!

After a very long absence, Arizona Weaponcraft Solutions is back in the saddle!
We will finish this year with a couple of traditional CCW classes, one of which will be a
ladies only class. We may be able to do a defensive handgun class also. You will also
see me out at J oes Foss Range working the line again.
We are developing a series of personal survival classes geared towards those folks who
want to prepare for extreme eventualities but are not sure where to begin, or what to
start buying. Prepping has now become a major industry in this country spurred on by
media such as Doomsday Preppers. As in any such boom, there are all kinds of
products (some good, others junk) websites (some from knowledgeable people, some
from idiots), blogs with good info, and some with bizarre rants and raves, ect. My series
of classes will give the concerned citizen an intelligent method of evaluating exactly
what they as an individual or family need and how to put an intelligent plan together to
prepare for any eventuality to give the best chance of surviving anything from a few
days inconvenient power outage to a full blown social breakdown. We will show you
how to decide what you actually need so that you do not waste your money becoming a
gadget geek buying a lot of expensive junk that will do you no good.

1. Our Upcoming Class Schedule


LADIES ONLY CCW CLASS!

This is the State of Arizona Concealed Weapons Permit class which will be limited
to female students only. Many women are reluctant to take a firearms class with
men, so here is your opportunity to get this permit and the vital legal training
necessary in an environment free of male Mucho Macho.
Cost: $50.00 cash, check, or money order

2. Why Should You Get a CCW Permit?


Under current law in Arizona, you are not required to have a CCW permit to
carry concealed. But there are some very good reasons why you should.

1. Learn when you can use deadly force and defensive display. And when you
cant!
2. Exempts you from the background check when purchasing firearms!
3. Recognized in 34 other states!
4. You can legally carry in National Parks!
5. You can legally carry in establishments that serve alcohol!

I am constantly amazed at how many people in my classes are surprised to hear
that you cannot (and better not) shoot someone who is running out the front
door with their T.V. or driving off with their car. A number of people do NOT
understand the concept of Defensive Display and end up in legal difficulties
being charged with brandishing a weapon.

And God forbid you ever have to actually shoot someone in defense of yourself
or loved ones. Would you want your defense attorney to be able to say that you
were a solid citizen who took the time and effort to learn the law? Or would you
rather have a prosecuting attorney claim you were a Cowboy with an itchy
trigger finger just looking for someone to Make your day?
Think about it.

If you do not have a CCW and are carrying, you need to take a good class. Not
one of the B.S. online get your money and go classes being offered, but a
serious class from a reputable instructor.

of my classes, please contact me and I will steer you towards a professional
instructor who will give you the training you need.

3. Preparation and Survival: Prepare for What?



When it comes to being intelligently prepared for unforeseen disasters, most
Americans are like our friend above. However with the advent of shows like
Doomsday Preppers the Prepping industry is flourishing, and honestly
concerned citizens want to prepare themselves and their families.
This is a bit of a rehash of the Survivalist rage in the 70s.
Someone who honestly sees the dangers on the horizon (if you dont, your picture
is above) and wants to begin honest and practical preparation measures can often
be overwhelmed as to where to begin. Some just throw up their hands in
frustration and others run out buying all sorts of survival food, guns, equipment
and gadgets. Both are wrong.
I am beginning a series, both in this Journal, and classes people can take to address
these issues.
It is a matter of practical, serious and sober thinking and then coming up with an
intelligent plan that is right for your individual situation. First, what are you
preparing for? Lets make a logical list:

Simple life emergencies such as a job loss or temporary electrical outage.
U.S. and global economic instability.
Extreme weather events / natural disasters.
Pandemic Flu (swine, bird, etc.).
Terrorist threats.
Civil unrest (political, economic, racial, etc.).
EMP (either man made or solar).

Each of the above is an honest and legitimate concern that requires specific
preparations. Think about how they might affect you.
In future issues, and in classes, we will explore way to prepare for each of them.
Logically and realistically.


4. Small Arms Review: Russian Mosin-Nagant



The French development of smokeless rifle powder coupled with their
developing an 8mm cartridge for it, and a new rifle, the 1886 Lebel set off
an arms race with the major powers each attempting to field a bolt action
rifle chambered for a smokeless powder cartridge as soon as possible. In
1891 Czarist Russia adopted the Model 1891 Mosin-Nagant as their
standard infantry rifle. The cartridge they adopted with it was a
7.62x54mm rimmed cartridge that is still in service with Russian forces
today. (For those unfamiliar with European cartridge designation, the 7.62
is the diameter of the bullet in millimeters and the 54 is the cartridge case
length in millimeters). Ballistics are very similar to 30-06. Ammunition is
plentiful, both surplus Com Bloc and current made, in Full Metal J acket
and soft nosed hunting loads.
The Mosin-Nagant has a complicated but rugged bolt design and is loaded
with a 5 round stripper clip from the top, or individual rounds may be
loaded by hand.
There are a tremendous number of these on the American market, primarily
in three versions: The1891 long rifle in various versions, the 1944 carbine
with folding bayonet, and one a bit more rare, the 1938 carbine (pictured)
which doesnt take a bayonet. There is also a more expensive sniper
version with original scopes, but be advised that these do NOT approach
the accuracy Westerners expect from a sniper weapon.
The Mosin is a good solid bolt action rifle for anyone wanting a
survival/defense rifle that is on a budget both for the weapon itself and
ammunition. You can always upgrade when you can afford it.











5. Parting Shot: Keep the change.

More national debt than all Presidents before him from Washington on
all added together. Millions of Americans losing their health insurance
so his party can buy more votes from their limited constituencies.
Totally open and exposed borders and illegals who have been convicted
of criminal activity turned loose on American society. Hundreds of
veterans dying because of Veterans Administration corruption.
Worsening relations with our only real friend in the Mideast, Israel.
Five hard core terrorists traded for a captured American soldier who
probably was a deserter to begin with, and for whom 6 American
soldiers died trying to find. Iran and North Korea still developing
nuclear weapons. Constant attempts to disarm law abiding Americans.
Need I go on?
The next time someone tells you they are proud to be a Democrat, go
ahead and bitch slap them. (No, not really. Assault and Battery will get
you jail and confiscated guns). Dont even bother to try to reason with
them though. They obviously cant get both brain cells working in
tandem. Like Forrest Gump said Stupid is as Stupid does.
