About myself

Born in Amalapuram, E.Godavari District, A.P, Sastry Karra grew up in
Hyderabad, A.P. My father (Late) Karra. Venkata Rao, uncles and grandfather were all
well versed in vedic astrology. It was my family tradition to provide predictions using
vedic astrology for Free. At the age of 16, I showed interest in astrology, learnt the
basic calculations and then predictions from my grandfather.

Being an IT professional, I developed my own software that performs the
standard planetary calculations, different types of dasa calculations and validates
hundreds of yoga combinations mentioned in various classical texts.

I am currently residing in New Jersey, USA and spend my free time by providing
free predictions using facebook. I also wrote some articles explaining the techniques
used for predictions and they are easily available for free in scribd.com website.


Introduction

Definition of Argala: According Brihat Prasara Hora Shastra (BPHS); in Sanskrit
Argala means definite effects of houses and the planets. Argala keeps in LOCK AND
KEY THE EFFECTS OF THE PLANET or SIGN concerned and saves these effects from
DECAY.
According to BPHS, if other planets are in 2
nd
, 4
th
, 5
th
or 11
th
houses from a given
planet, then it should be known as the Argala combination. The Argala obstructors are

for 4
th
, 12
th
for 2
nd
, 9
th
for 5
th
and 3
rd
for 11
th
houses. For Rahu and Ketu while the
Argala houses are 10

and 3
rd
, its obstructors are 4

From Saturn if planets are in 2

houses, then it is an Argala
combination for Saturn only. Then the Antardasa of the planets in 2

houses (from Saturns residence) during the mahadasa of Saturn will see
the Argala effects.
From Jupiter, there are planets in 2

houses only and there are planets in
12
th
and 3
rd
houses, then the Argala effect of 2
nd
house will be nullified since
there is an obstructor in 12
th
house.


Procedure to Analyze Graha Argala
To explain in detail the Argala identification, I used (Late) Rajiv
Gandhis birth chart as an example.



By completing the below shown chart for all the Seven Planets will depict which
Argala effect is intact for the given planet. The Dasa of the Planet and Antardasa of
the Planets in placement houses are to be considered for Argala effects.
From Saturn as Lagna:

Let us now examine the Argala effects of these Planets.
Saturns Argala effects:
Saturn had Argala effect on 2

Saturn is in 11

house from Lagna, thus it locked the results of 12

his residence) and 2
nd

th
from his residence) bhavas for the rest of natives life.
The results will be noticeable as follows:
For the 4

house: The Vimsottari dasa are Saturn/Mars (Native was dead before this
period began).


For the 2

house: The Vimsottari dasa are Saturn/Rahu. (Native was dead before this
period began).

Moons Argala effects:
Moon had Argala effect on 11

house from his residence only. Moon is in

bhava for the rest of
natives life.

Moon the Matru-Karaka is in its Own house (tanu-stanadhipadthi). So,
the native might go thru some sort of mental anguish due to his/her
mother. Saturn is the lord of 6

and 7

houses and is residing in 11
th
house.
Thus, Moon has locked the Labha-stanam impact during Saturn antardasa.
The planet being Saturn the impact might be negative/loss or delayed. Since


Saturn is 6

house lord it could be pertaining to debts, Illness or employment
conditions for mother. Saturn is 7
th
house lord so it could be pertaining to
mothers marital relationship, business that mother was involved in.

The results will be noticeable during Moon/Saturn period (1969-08 thru
1971-02). For Mrs. (Late) Indira Gandhi, according to Wikipedia, In 1969, after
many disagreements with Desai, the Indian National Congress split. She ruled
with support from Socialist and Communist Parties for the next two years. In the
same year, in July 1969 she nationalized banks. Politics being her profession,
the troubles in her profession was clearly noticed by natives mother due to
Saturns impact.

Thus, it is clear that Saturn, Jupiter & Venus are the only planets that
have Argala effects for this native.

Saturn DASHA BEGINS THE DAY AFTER 2002-11-10 AND ENDS ON 2021-11-10.
Venus DASHA BEGINS THE DAY AFTER 2045-11-10 AND ENDS ON 2065-11-10.

Let us start analyzing how the 2

(Dhana-stanam & Kutumbha-stanam)
got impacted during the Jupiter Mahadasa with Sun, Moon, Mars &
Mercury Antardasas.

Let us start analyzing/predicting how the 4

(Sukha-stanam) house got
impacted during the Saturn Mahadasa with Sun, Moon, Mars & Mercury
Antardasas.




Let us start analyzing/predicting how the 5
th
(Vidya-stanam, Putra-
stanam) house got impacted during the Saturn Mahadasa with Rahu &
Venus Antardasas.

Conclusions:
While Saturn/Mars period will be life threatening to the native, the
other periods viz. Saturn/Rahu, Saturn/Jupiter will be challenging. Overall,
Saturns period will be an unforgettable period in natives life.
Since, completing the Saturns Mahadasa is a challenge, Venus
mahadasa is not considered at this juncture.

The highest Argala effect from Saturn during Antardasa of Rahu is highly
noticeable. Saturn a Benefic being lord of 4

(Labha-stanam) house from itself during the Rahu antardasa. Since the lock
was at a very young age, being the lord of both basic and advanced education,
Saturn had provided the needed gains in her education career. Since it was
Rahus anatardasa, the gain was in the form of revolutionary
ideas/behavior (against the then social norms).
At the age of under 20, during the period where women had least
importance in the society, if its NOT Saturn with Rahu, how could the
native be so famous?

political science.

Venuss Argala effects:
Venus/Ketu period has the only Argala effect (2014-08 thru 2015-10).
Venus being Lord of 1

houses is in LIBRA (its OWN house),
cojoined with Mercury (Lord of 12

house Place for cure).
Rahu is in 8

house, thus Ketu being in 2

house.
Transit Saturn will be touching Natal Venus until 2014-Nov and then
goes to 2

house where it touches Natal Ketu and will have a direct
aspect on natal Rahu in 8

house.
Exactly, during this period, transit Rahu will be in 12
th
house, with its
direct aspect on 6
th
(Illness) house.

According to classical texts, Troubles in health MIGHT be caused to
the Native by Lord of 8th in his Own Dasha, if Lord of 8th is in LAGNA .
Native will probably have problems in the Head.

There is a HIGH possibility for the native to have CHALLENGING
health-related issues during this Argala period.


Conclusion

Based on the few examples, the importance of Argala is clearly visible.
Apart from using the Vimsottari Dasa, it is advised that the Argala impact if any
should also be considered while predicting an important event.
