Reality Check

Transitioning to a new class and course facilitator can be challenging. In the past, I have found
things go more smoothly when I review some of the key procedural elements of the course so
everyone is on the same page. Please, take a few minutes to take this Reality Check. Indicate
your responses in the appropriate column. Ensure each item has a response, then post to the
assignment tab by the due date per the Syllabus and Calendar.

Participation: I am required to post a total of 8 substantial posts
on at least 3 separate days each week in the Main Forum. I
understand this is a UOPX policy and my instructor cannot deviate
from this policy. I understand my participation posts must meet the
word-count requirement and that I may lose up to 50% of the
points if this requirement is not met

substantial; U = unsubstantial), so I can assess my participation
performance.

A Substantial post is a well-developed insightful comment between
100-300 words related to the discussion topics. The substantial
posts will contribute to the knowledge-base of the class and will
help the class learn more about the topics. Brief and minimal
comments, such as I agree, repeating what others have already
written, and posts not related to the topics will receive a U. The
inclusion of citations and references from peer-reviewed material
is optional.

I understand the definition of a similarity index, as stated in the
CWE Turnitin Plagiarism Manual. Each assignment, including
participation posts, must contain a minimum of 81% original
writing and analysis. I understand that my work may not be
accepted if I submit an assignment with a similarity index greater
