Problem:
Kajang has transformed itself from a small old town to a big modern town by designing and
developing new township such as Bandar BaruBangi and Bandar Seri Putra as well as
extending its CBD (central business district) such as extension to Sungai Chua. However, its
centre is inadequately transformed and most of its residences are working inKuala
Lumpur and other external areas. Write your vision and plan for Kajang to transform its town
centre and to be a self reliance town. You may use sketches to enhance your vision and plan.
Vision:
The main vision for this plan is to make Kajang is a town where the development based on
the sustainability development. The principle objectives of the plan are:
i. Sustainable development is about making the community more liveable. Focusing on
provide the residents convenient parks and open spaces, and walking and cycle paths.
By using a design principles that encourage a safe living environment. Our
communities have a range of new homes to suit many different life stages so you
dont need to move away when your circumstances change.
ii. Improved the existing transportation system in Kajang due to the high traffic
congestion
iii. New building practices, solar power, energy smart appliances, good solar orientation
and water saving measures are just some of the sustainability initiatives on show in
homes in our communities.
iv. to increase social and economic capital and improve the quality of life generally.

Solution:
1. Improve the public transport
The public transport can be introduced by providing a public transport services
within the city and increase thenumber the place for bus stop so that it will not
disturbing traffic in Kajang.
2. Accessibility
The provision of sidewalks, trails, and private streets, connected to transit stops
and an interconnected street network within these mixed-use developments
provides mobility options and helps reduce pollution by reducing vehicle trips.
Walking, bicycling, and other mobility options should be encouraged throughout
the urban mixed-use core and mixed-use neighborhoods with easily accessed and
well-defined centers and edges.
3. Promotion of parks development
Parks provide intrinsic environmental, aesthetic, and recreation benefits to our
cities. They are also a source of positive economic benefits.They enhance property
values, increase municipal revenue, bring in homebuyers and workers, and attract
retirees.





4. Re-developments should provide a variety of commercial, institutional, educational uses
as well as housing styles, sizes and prices.

5. The existing system of transportation in Kajang needs to be improved hence to reducethe
traffic congestion and the need to use the own transport. The public transport can be
introduced by providing a public transport services within the city and increase
thenumber the place for bus stop so that it will not disturbing traffic in Kajang. Besides
that, a plan to introduce park and ride system around Kajang area also can give the
advantages in reduce the traffic congestion. This systems can encourage people to park
their cars at the nearest public transport station such as KTM station and take the train to
the city.

6. Improve and increase more employment around Kajang city
As we know most Kajang resident was work at the kuala Lumpur. This is because
there are many jobs opportunities in Kuala Lumpur. Therefore, to attract the
resisidents working in Kajang, more employment opportunities must be provide in
Kajang.
