TITLE: A study on development and evaluation of drug release profile from a biodegradable scaffold for bio-
absorbable coronary stents
DESCRIPTION: Bio-absorbable coronary stents entered the market with an aim to offer several potential
advantages compared to Bare Metal Stents and Drug Eluting Stents. Project work includes fabrication of a
polymeric scaffold by using a bio-absorbable material and spray coating the scaffold with Docetaxel (anti-
proliferative drug). The work mainly focused on evaluation of mechanical strength, In-vitro drug release
study, in-vitro biodegradability and morphological, thermal characterization of scaffold. In addition, the study
also includes Drug-polymer interactions, contact angle measurement, in-vitro Haemo compatibility of the
scaffold.
