Bro. Tee Chee Seng hails from the Pearl of Orient , Penang
and has been a dedicated Dhamma worker for many years,
especially his many years serving selflessly as Principal of
Mahindarama Sunday Pali School. In the corporate sector, he
is currently the General Manager at Optotronic
Semiconductors. He graduated from University of Malaya and
he helmed key operations role in various local and
international companies over the years.
At present, he is a very speaker at Sunday@BGF and
Dhammaduta Exco for Buddhist Gem Fellowship. Not
forgertting a happy father of four talented children.

Bro. Ron Leong helps individuals uncover their strengths, natural
preferences in areas of learning and thinking, motivations and
interests, and assist them in career decisions and planning. He uses
three evidenced-based and reliable systems DISC InsightsTM
Personality System, LearningKeysTM and CareerKeysTM.
Ron Leong has many success stories in his life and he uses them as
examples in his training. He has over 20 years of working experience
especially in the area of Sales and Marketing. He specializes in
Communication Skills, Presentation Skills and Listening Skills. Apart
from that he also conducts program such as Positive Working
Attitude, Building Company Loyalty, Pre-Graduates Enhancement
Program and other People Management Programs.
He also has passion in organizing workshops and camps for teenagers.
He is the founder of TEENS SURVIVAL WORKSHOP in which teenagers
learnt how to handle the many challenges they faced. He also
conducts motivation talks and study techniques for students.
He has been giving trainings to new Dhamma teacher recruits in
BISDS and SJBA.

Clinical Psychologist
Lee Kuan Shin is a trained clinical psychologist, with a Masters of Art in Clinical
Psychology, earned in 2002 at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM). She works with
children and families in therapy and regularly participates in parenting skills workshop
presenting on issues of self-esteem, communication and problem solving skills. Kuan
Shin also work with children with developmental disabilities and emotional difficulties.
She was one of the panel writers for Growing Pains in New Straits Times, and her
articles on childrens developmental issues have been features in several local
parenting magazines.
Along with counselling children, Kuan Shin provides psychotherapy to
adults and couples with depression, anxiety, trauma, and stress
management. Her training allows her to assess her clients mental
health status and support their condition or problems during therapy
sessions.
Kuan Shin is a visiting psychologist at Pantai Hospital Kuala Lumpur,
and has her private practice in Solaris Dutamas.

How to apply creativity in teaching method
Mr. Bugs Tan is easily one of the most prolific inventors in Malaysia. He is an outstanding creator
with 11 national innovation awards. In 2007 he won the most respected tribute for an inventor in
the country. That is the National Innovation Award which was presented to him by the Prime
Minister.His talent was also recognized aboard and we are pleased to inform you that, in 2009 Bugs
was conferred the International Excellent Award for Innovation by the Indira Group of Institutes in
Mumbai INDIA.
Bugs has successfully commercialized some of his invention and placed them in the market place. A
few of his inventions that have found its way into the respective market are the Litewalk grating
panels which are used on oil platforms and petrochemical plants.
Recently Bugs has developed a few animations for children. These short cartoons are entertaining
yet educational with emphasis on creativity and innovation. It is scheduled to be screened on local
TV soon. Students in the local university had also benefited from him because Bugs is an Adjunct
Lecturer at Universiti Teknologi Petronas (UTP).
Bugs is also a Judge for the James Dyson Award, an international invention
competition held over 18 countries. Bugs is also a prominent Judge for the
Maybank Money Tree YES Challenge. He is also a celebrity Judge for the IDEA
Malaysia Inventors.
Thang Mee Yuen
Teaching Meditation to Children
Simple meditation techniques for children - namely metta meditation, breathing meditation (not
anapannasati), and paying attention to the sound of the bell.
Thang Mee Yuen first began her Dhamma work by co-teaching undergraduates during her final
year at USM. In 2001, as a mother with young children, she started a playgroup with a few
friends at the Sri Lanka Buddhist Temple, Kuala Lumpur. A few years later, she initiated
Sunday Dhamma classes for children aged 7 years to 17 years in her neighbourhood. During
her stint as a Dhamma teacher, she introduced sitting meditation to her students. Since last
year, she has facilitated two mindfulness meditation courses for children aged 9 years to 13
years at Clove & Clive, Kelana Jaya.

Professionally, Mee Yuen is a clinical psychologist trained in UKM, a practitioner of therapeutic
play skills accredited by Play Therapy International UK, and a trainer foremotional literacy skills
accredited by Sophia College, Australia. Mee Yuen is also trained in expressive arts therapy for
therapeutic growth. In recent years, she has facilitated a number of workshops for self-growth
and empowerment for groups of children, adolescents and adults. She has a private practice,
and she also works part-time at a private school in Kuala Lumpur.
Daniel Kwok
Teaching Music & Art to Modern Day Children
Daniel Kwok Tak Hoong is a Montessorian Teacher Trainer by profession and he has
previously worked at Tadika Minda Gemilang in Bandar Puteri, Puchong. A husband and
father of two children aged 7 and 3, he is a budding meditator, Buddhist song writer,
DIY fanatic and Child Rights advocate.
As a Buddhist Sunday School Teacher, he has taught in SJBA in 2001 to 2004 and for the
BGF Gems Kids from 2010 to 2011 and has since retired from it. He currently works for
his father in a Logistics company and in his free time, he cooks breakfast, makes home
videos and is an amateur tailor.
Talk Synopsis
Children born in the year 2000s and early 2010s are indeed different
from children born in other times. Being exposed to smart phones,
tablets, Youtube, CGI cartoons and mobile games, the way these
children interact with their parents, teachers and with their peers and
sometimes raises communication challenges.
This talk will focus on how to address children aged 4 to 12 and get
them practicing basic Buddhist Sila, becoming interested in Buddhist
activities like Dana, Metta meditation and experiencing Buddhist
Culture and making Buddhist Art. Tools like making Music Videos and
suggestions on how to make a Viral Buddhist Short Film will also be
covered during this talk.
Koh Mui Han
Introduction to Active Training Methodology
- People learn best by doing, and this applies to teaching sessions as well.

Koh Mui Han, have been a Buddhist since the age of 13. He started active Buddhist work in his
secondary school Buddhist Society. He was the President of St. Johns Institution Buddhist Society
KL from 1993 1997, and thereafter became committee in various Buddhist organisation. Mui Han
also co-founded a youth group in 1998 and was later formalize to be known as Dhammaduta Youths
(D2Y) in 2000.
Professionally, Mui Han is the Principal Consultant for ChangeDynamics Consulting and he has
extensive experience in leading diverse consulting and training assignments across different
industries. He was with PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) Advisory Services where he developed and
rolled out transition and communication programs for the new systems to all employees in major
transformation and integration projects.
Mui Han is certified trainer in Active Training Techniques, based on the principles by Active Training
Guru Mel Silberman. He specializes in attention based Emotional Intelligence driven leadership and
managerial development programs as part of Talent Development for his clients. His attention
based Emotional Intelligence programs leverages on the latest in neuroscience research and offers
various key mind training methodologies that build the core emotional intelligence skills needed for
managers today to peak at their performance and have effective leadership. Mui Han helps
professionals at all levels to adapt; management teams to evolve and leaders to optimize their
impact and influence.

Bro. Benny is the editor of Eastern Horizon, a journal of the Young Buddhist
Association of Malaysia. Benny Liow has been instrumental in the setting up of
several Buddhist Societies. He was the President of the Universiti Sains
Malaysia Buddhist Society (1977/1978), founder Chairman of the Buddhist
Gem Fellowship (1980), Education Committee Chairman of YBAM (1982-1984)
and Vice-Chairman of the Kota Kemuning Buddhist Center (2002-2006).
He edited books in honor of the well-known Malaysian Buddhist missioner,
Venerable Datuk K. Sri Dhammananda: "K.Sri Dhammananda: A Pictorial
Retrospect (2000)", "K. Sri Dhammananda Felicitation (2003)", "108 Treasures

Khoo Nee Wern is currently the Consultant in THC Consulting Sdn. Bhd. In THC Consulting, Nee
Wern manages various Human Capital projects in the field of Performance Management, 360
Leadership Assessments, Rewards Infrastructure Development, and Strategic Management. In the
area of Training and Development, he specialises in Leadership Development, EQ Development,
Effective Communication, Organisational Teaming, and Personal Effectiveness.

Nee Wern holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the Maastricht School of
Management, with specialisation in Strategic Management and Leadership. He is also accredited in
Harrison Assessments and its application in EQ development.
He chaired and organized the BGF Effective Speaking Course, has chaired the BGF INCOVAR Dharma
Camp and is the founder of i-Gemz. He now integrates the Buddhist teachings in daily life (both
professional and family life), using EQ management tools and supported by the foundations of

Overview on meditation techniques (metta, anapanasati and vipasana) and a quick take on a child's cognitive
development and some understanding on why some children cannot close their eyes and sit quietly.
