Contest Rules
CONTEXT, PURPOSES AND OBJECTIVE
The contests purpose is to recognize an innovative
concept car designed by the students of the 2
nd
batch
of Launchpad Academys, Online Diploma in Car
Design program.
Projects will be judged based on the following
criteria:
The ideas boldness, originality and innovation
Importance and relevance of the challenge
addressed and inclusion of social needs
Presentation value of the submission
CONTEST RULES
Only students of the 2
nd
batch of Launchpad
Academys, Online Diploma in Car Design program
are eligible to participate in this contest.
Students of the program have to participate and
complete all the weekly assignments/exercises and
project work given through-out the course to be
eligible for the contest.
The project report/presentation to be submitted at
the end of the course shall become the entry of the
student for the contest.
Only one entry per student will be accepted.
All entries must be an original concept for the given
design brief.
Students have to sign a disclaimer saying the work
is their own and they have every right to submit it
for the competition.
One winner will be selected among all the applicants.
Winner will be chosen by the faculty based on the
performance and enthusiasm shown in the class.
Travel period will be anytime between Feb to April 2015.
The trip is all-expenses-paid for 3D/4N & covers to-n-fro
airfare from any Indian metro city to Italy. Entry fee to the
Ferrari factory and Museum & accommodation will be
taken care by Launchpad Academy.
Launchpad will also assist and pay for Visa fees, travel
insurance and daily allowance.
Students entry must satisfy all the necessary submission
requirements of the given project brief. The sketches
should demonstrate front, side and back views.
Entries must be in English.
The decision of the jury will be final and binding.
All information will be uploaded on the contest page of
our website/FB page. Participants are advised to regularly
check the website/FB page for any updates.
All submissions will become the sole property of
Launchpad Academy and Launchpad Academy can
publish, exhibit or promote the contents of the
submission wherever they wish without seeking any
permission. However, the participant will continue to hold
the copyrights of his/her work.
ELIGIBILITY
Students should be enrolled in the 2
nd
batch of
Launchpad Academys, Online Diploma in Car Design
program.
Students should obtain a No-Objection letter from
Parents/Guardians to undertake the trip.
Students should have completed all the weekly
assignments/exercises and project work given through-
out the course to be eligible for the contest.

About the Faculty
Mr. Sathiyaseelan Gangasalam, is Head of Styling - Ashok Leyland. He has an M.Des Degree from IDC, IIT Delhi. He has
consulted and led teams in automotive styling at Tata Motors, Tata Elxsi, TVS and General Motors before joining Ashok Leyland.
He is passionate about teaching Design to young minds.

What if I miss a class?
You neednt worry at all! After each class, we send the class
recordings to our students, so that you can always refer back
at your own pace. You can also reschedule the class to a
different batch.
How will I get support?
Our expert support ensures that you get your queries
answered, either through emails or phone calls (phone
support available only between 10am-8pm).
What if I have doubts before or after the class?
If you have doubts before the class, feel free to ask your
doubts from the instructors taking the LIVE session. And if
you have doubts after the class gets over, you can get them

phone calls.
How will I do the practical's?
You will be given weekly assignments, case studies and
quizzes. You can do the practical's at your own pace, which
will require 2-3 hours each week.
What internet speed is required to attend the LIVE classes?
1Mbps of internet speed is recommended to attend the LIVE
classes. However, we have seen people attending the
classes from a much slower internet.
How can a student access the online class in the event of
an Internet disconnects? Does the student lose that day's
class lecture forever?
You can go through the class recording or you also have
option of attending the same class in a different batch. In no
event you will lose a lecture forever. We also have an expert
support team, so in case you need any clarification on
concepts or help, the support team can help you by online or
phone (phone support available only between 10am-8pm).
Do you provide any Certification? If yes, what is the
Certification process?
Yes, we provide our own Certification. At the end of your
course, you will work on individual projects. Once you have
successfully completed the project (and reviewed by our
expert faculty), you will be awarded a certificate with a
performance-based grading. If your project is not approved
in 1st attempt, you can take extra assistance for any of your
doubts to understand the concepts better and reattempt the
Project free of cost. Certification is provided only upon
successful completion of the project.
