1. Should students be allowed to grade their teachers?

1. It is a general truth the fact that teachers grade students but would the world be
turned upside down if students would also be allowed to grade their teachers?
To begin with, though the grading offered by a student is not always the most
objective, I think that students are more entitled than any inspector to grade their
teachers work in class because, after all they are the ones who interact the most
with the teacher and can appreciate the effects that the teacher has on them. In
addition, it is very important for teachers to know how their pupils appreciate their
work so that they can improve and adapt to their needs.
econdly, students should be allowed to grade their teachers because if teachers get
a feedback from their students they will be aware of their !ualities and flaws and
will be able to highlight their !ualities and cover up their flaws with some positive
aspects. "urthermore, it is a good stimulation for students to be allowed to grade
their teachers because they would be aware of how hard it is to keep yourself
objective when grading someone and so they will respect more their teachers and
take more seriously their responsibilities.
#nother argument in favor of students grading teachers is that being graded will
stimulate teachers to be better in their job and to focus more on their relationship
with children. This will benefit the students who fill find in their teachers mentors
who can guide their lives.
$owever, some students are immature and shallow and cant grade properly a
teacher. It is common for weak students to blame their teachers for their failures so
they cant be objective when grading a teacher. %oreover, if a student provides the
teacher with a low grade it is possible that the teacher would stop being objective
when grading that particular student because he is not able to accept criticism for
someone with less e&perience.
To sum up, I think that students should be allowed to grade their teachers, as long
as they bring arguments for the grades given, so that the criticism will be
constructive and the changes that will follow will benefit both teachers and
students.
'. The process of education is complicated for both students and teachers, because
the young people have to work hard in order to gain new information and the
teachers are responsible for the improvement of the effectiveness of this process.
(aturally, people can not be perfect and everyone is an individual who has his own
strong and weak sides, approaches towards education and presentation of the
material. )very teacher is different and suggests his own methods of education
which can be treated by students differently. tudents understand that the
educational process is a serious problem and that its !uality depends on the
teacher. Teachers are different* there novice and ine&perienced teachers and the
reputed and honoured ones who are supposed to be the e&perts in this field. In
order to improve the educational process students ask to be allowed to grade their
teachers and this !uestion has its supporters and opponents.
To begin with, it is !uite reasonable to grade a teacher, because one can not
evaluate his work himself objectively. Third people can do it much better. Then,
students mention the mistakes of a teacher, especially if he is ine&perienced and
can not organi+e the educational process correctly. In this case it is wise to provide
the teacher with the piece of advice concerning the methods of studying and
approach towards the process of education. (e&t, constant grading is a stimulus for
a teacher to improve his knowledge and professional skills. ,eing controlled by the
students he starts to deepen his knowledge on the discipline all the time improving
the !uality of the classes with interesting material.
$owever, the problem has its drawbacks. "or e&ample, a student is not so
e&perienced to be able to evaluate the work of the teacher professionally. -ne can
not criticise a person higher in rank without the possession of the appropriate
knowledge and skills. econdly, many students will use grading for their own
benefit evaluating the teachers work as .poor just because he is demanding and
strict, as every student dreams to work little and receive only high marks.
o, the problem is serious and controversial and students can be given a certain
right to grade their teachers but this ability should be seriously limited.
2. Solutions for high rate of unemployment
(owadays, along with the rapid development of high/technology, more and
more young people face the danger of unemployment, some of them have been
closed outsides the doors of workplaces even before they have a chance to step into
them.
The influences of this phenomenon both on individuals and on society are
e&tremely far/reaching. In terms of individuals, unemployment means the negative
to his0her ability of working. In other words, he0she has not be able to adjust the
society demands. This would not only bring serious spirit pressure to individuals,
but also probably result in the family !uarrels caused by the economic stress. In the
aspect of society, unemployment suggests the increasing burden to society and
government. # large number of unemployed youth will absolutely consume
enormous society resources which will directly lead to the decrease of life !uality
of the whole social members.
To solve this problem need the joint effort of individuals, society and
government. "irst of all, individuals should try his0her best to adjust himself0herself
to adjust the society demands by enriching his0her knowledge and studying new
skills. %eanwhile, the society and government should spare no effort to create such
a condition for individuals, such as holding training classes, open technical
schools, according to the society demands. by this way, not only will the
individuals unemployment !uestions be solved successfully, but also the !uality of
the whole society will get improved enormously.
In conclusion, in my view, unemployment is not a serious !uestion, the
serious !uestion should be the attitudes of individuals, society and government to
deal with this issue. $ow will we choose, to give up or to accept challenge? I think
the latter undoubtedly is the wise choice.
3. Three immediate measures to solve the traffic problem in your city.
Traffic problem is one of the serious problems that $1% city has to cope with day
by day. or me, in order to solve this problem, my city needs some possible
solutions as follows. irst of all, the city government has to invest more money in
widening and upgrading the road system to provide e&tensive paths for all kinds of
vehicles on the street. !s a result, all means of transport can move smoothly on
rush hours and traffic jams will be certainly reduced. Secondly, the city
government needs to have many effective ways to encourage people to use public
transport more and use their private vehicles less. This can be done by providing
new and modern buses with air/conditioners and entertainment tools. 2ublic
transport must depart and arrive on time to get belief in passengers. "n addition,
staff should behave well with passengers. inally, the city government should have
campaigns to introduce traffic laws to citi+ens to help them understand more
clearly about them. #esides, it is necessary to fine heavily people who break the
traffic law intentionally. To sum up, with three possible solution above, $1% city
can partly solve the traffic congestion.
$. The good and bad of using the computer
1omputer is obviously an important tool in modern society due to benefits that it
can bring to our life. %owever, there are some good things and negative effects of
using computer. It is easy to reali+e that computer is used widely in a variety of
fields such as medicine, education, telecommunications etc. &oreover, it can
serve as a tool of working, researching, studying and entertaining etc. 3ith
computer, people can work effectively and finish their work !uickly. #esides that,
computer can help to store a great deal of data and information in disks compared
with saving data by paper. urthermore, computer can assist people in working
and developing new inventions that make their lives better and more comfortable.
'evertheless, computer also brings some negative effects to our lives. or
e(ample, people seem to be glued to computer and they are dependent on
computer and they want things to be done right away. "n addition, working on
computer too much can have bad influences on people health such as shortsighted,
fatigues and less active. To sum up, there are always two sides of a matter. This is
also true for computer that has both good and bad effects.
). *earn is a lifelong process.
I agree that learning is lifelong process because people have to spend many years
of learning during their life. "or e&ample, it takes 4 years to complete elementary
school and 5 years more to finish secondary school and another 6 years to
complete high school. Therefore, it can be seen that it takes about 1' years to
achieve basic knowledge for life. %oreover, it takes them another 5 years at
university. If people want to study further, they have to spend 6 years for master
degree and another 6 years for doctor degree. Therefore, learning is not a short
process. %oreover, knowledge is endless so they have to always study during their
life. They not only learn about basic professional knowledge but also practical
e&perience and behavior. #s a result, no one can be sure that they achieve all
knowledge in this world. %oreover, if people do not learn more, they will be
drawback because knowledge is updated everyday. Thats the reasons why
learning is lifelong process.
+. !dvertising on television is beneficial to viewers?
Its easy to find advertisement on mass media nowadays, especially on television.
"or me, advertising on T7 is generally beneficial to viewers. "irst of all, customers
can know information about new products or products that they are in need. They
can know who produces the products and where they are manufactured. %oreover,
advertising on T7 also helps customers to have ideas about a range of products of
the same kind so its useful for them to compare between products and give a final
decision to buy the product that they think it is suitable for them. In addition,
people also know where to buy the products that they would like to buy. $owever,
advertising on T7 also has some negative effects. "or e&ample, some
manufacturers advertise wrongly about their products and advertising sometimes
encourages people to buy things that they dont really need so they might waste a
lot of money. To sum up, advertising on T7 is generally beneficial to viewers.
,. Should university students be encouraged to ta-e part time .obs?
1. (owadays, there are more and more students choose to have a part/time job in
the spare time. urely, a par/time job can provide cash and working e&perience to
them. ,ut, as far as I am concerned, the university students should not be
encouraged to take a part/time job due to the following reasons.
To begin with, students in university are still too young to enter the work force.
8sually a student still lack of re!uisite abilities to make one9s own living as well as
to handle the problems coming from society and objective world. #ccording to
scientific surveys that teenagers have a very high possibility to be forced or
e&ploited to do some things they don9t want to do. Thats why, in many countries,
laws are enacted to prevent teenagers from working, which aim to protect their
rights of studying and growing healthily and enjoying happy childhood. -bviously,
we have the common ac!uaintance that university students should focus on
studying instead of having a part/time job.
,esides, a part/time job would occupy university students a lot of precious time,
which should be used to learn systematic knowledge and living skills in class
without worries of work stress and frustration. #lso the university provide students
a community to fit in the real world, so that students can develop these necessary
!ualities and skills. I think it9s definitely not a wise option to take a part/time job in
e&change of losing some parts of such important opportunities of education.
3hats more, students in university should get prepared to further their education
which could benefit them a lot in the future when they are ready to work in a real
environmental working.
In conclusion, I do not agree with the idea that uni students should take:.
'. It is controversial issue whether taking an after/school work is a curse or a
blessing. In this essay, I will discuss both side of this problem and give my
personal argument for working part/time.
%any parents and teachers frown upon the idea of students working part/time.
Their line of reasoning appears to be that it is bound to distract students attention
away from their study, and some students even play truant, which may hurt their
academic performance. "urthermore, due to lacking life e&perience, they hard to
differentiate the good from the bad and may come under the influence of bad
people. This, even worse, drives them to embark on criminal world.
-n the other hand, undoubtedly, taking a part/time job poses a source of benefits.
Thanks to earning their own money, students may provide partly for their demand,
relieving financial burden of their families. %oreover, when involving in
competitive work environment, working with sweat and tears and reaching their
goals, students can recogni+e their own values and prove that they are capable
people, which enables them to be more confident in themselves. 3ith joining in
an after/school work, students might enjoy a chance to apply actively theoretical
knowledge into practice. #s a result, they are very likely to get deeper insight into
what they have learned in classes and books.
"rom my point of view, regardless of its cons, working part/time should be
encouraged. There is a fact that parents and teachers by no means can shelter their
children throughout their life from realities of life. Taking part/time jobs with
support from parents and the school to keep youngster on right track will bestow
upon them a great chance to e&perience and e&plore the world around. #fter that,
they may become more mature and ready to struggle with their latter lives.
To conclude, part/time jobs, like other things, have both plus and minus points
hidden behind. 3hat is of paramount importance is firm stuff of students as well as
joint/effort between parents and the school to assist students whenever they need.

7. The development of tourism in 8ietnam.
Tourism is considered as a non/smoking industry which plays an important part in
the development of any economy. In order to develop tourism in 7ietnam, it is
necessary to have some following solutions. "irst of all, we need to advertise 7(s
images to people worldwide by many ways so that people know 7ietnam as an
e&citing and safe destination for holiday. econdly, government should invest
money or call for investment in developing tourist resorts to supply the demand of
tourism. Thirdly, tourist companies should provide a variety of tourist products so
that all people can choose any tours that are suitable with their interest and money.
"inally, it is vital to keep security and political stability because tourists do not risk
their lives to travel in unsafe place. To sum up, with its important role in economic
development, tourism in 7ietnam should be concerned to develop well by some
solutions as mentioned above.
4. 6hich do you thin- is more valuable 9 health or wealth?
2eople said that Phealth is more precious than goldQ. Therefore, I think that health
is more valuable than wealth. The fact is that money is very important in life
because money can help to satisfy most of our basic demands in life. $owever,
money is not all because there is still one thing that is more important than money.
Its health. In fact, when we are healthy, we can work and earn a lot of money for
our life. In addition, we can enjoy our life and perform many dreams and ambitions
during our life. # healthy person is certainly optimistic and has belief in his or her
life. "urthermore, if we are not healthy, we may get some serious diseases that can
not be cured, even we have a lot of money with us. In these cases, money is
nothing. 3ith mentioned things, it is clear that health is more important than
wealth.
15. %igh rate of young criminals
In the past, there were few youngsters turning to the way of crime, however, with the progress
of society, a large number of young people have become criminals in large cities all over the
world at present. The phenomenon of more young people committing a crime is caused by many
reasons.
"irst, playing computer games online is more popular than before, especially for boys, most of
whom are addicted to playing day and night. In addition, some 6R games need players to buy
weapons for their roles with cash, but the majority of young people have no income, so they have
no choice but to steal money from others to support their gaming. econd, young people lack of
social e&perience that makes them do some illegal activities and easily persuaded by evildoers
with criminal records. Third, finding an ideal job is a big problem because there are more
students graduate from college than jobs so the amount of labour supply has e&ceed that of the
demand of markets. -nce loads of young people could not have a job, they may find another
method to afford their livesS to be robbers is the !uickest way to get enough money in a short
time.
#s for the nation, the increasing number of crimes committed by youngsters is influencing the
!uality of peoples life and the social stability to some degrees. chool is a place where giving
youngsters ac!uire more knowledge, so they should direct students to use computer games
correctly and teach them how to distinguish right behavior or wrong behaviour when they step
into mi&ed society. "urthermore, government should invest more money on young people, giving
them more opportunities to have a job or encouraging college graduate students to open their
own companies.
-verall, though this terrible situation cannot be solved by people and government immediately,
controlling the number of crime rate rising is an urgent mission. -nly by paying more attention
to young people can they contribute themselves to the development of society.
13. &a-ing a decision on one:s first .ob is difficult.
#fter graduating from universities, most of students are eager to enter labour force.
$owever, sometimes it is difficult for them to make a decision on their first jobs
due to some of the following reasons.
"irstly, there are a lot of job opportunities available for them to choose so they
have to think carefully about their decision. econdly, they have to decide whether
to be interested in the money side or job satisfaction when they apply for a job.
This may be a big !uestion for them when choosing a job. Thirdly, they may
wonder to work for a government company with job security but low benefits or to
work for a private company with less job security but high benefits. #part from
money side, people have to care about other factors such as working opportunities,
working environment, colleague relationship etc. "inally, they have to decide to
take a job relating to their major at university or to take any job that they can find
to earn money in order to support their lives. In conclusion, there are some reasons
that make difficult for people when they decide their first jobs as mentioned above.
