How to create an Endian Installation USB Flash Drive:
Windows Users
This document describes how to create an Installation USB Flash Drive for image les provided by Endian. The
procedure applies to Windows users with XP or Vista systems.
Required applications
In order to create the Endian Installation USB Flash Drive you need to download and install the following applications:
Microsoft .NET Framework. It can be downloaded from:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?displaylang=en&FamilyID=0856eacb-

USB Image Tool. It can be downloaded from:
http://www.alexpage.de/usb-image-tool/download/
Procedure
Download the image le provided by Endian to your computer 1.
Make sure that you have administrative rights on your PC 2.
Start USB Image Tool 3.
Plug a USB Flash Drive in your computer: the software application should detect the USB Flash Drive 4.

Click the Favorites tab 5.
Click Add 6.
Select the image from your computer and click Open 7.















Click Restore (between Add and Remove) 8.
Click Yes in the dialog box 9.
















Wait for the application to copy the image on the USB Flash Drive (this may take a few minutes) 10.
Troubleshooting
Some USB Flash Drives may not be compatible and prevent appliances from booting. In this case you
may have to try with a different USB Flash Drive model.
The partition is often Linux-based, so Windows may not detect it.
