Llamamos Biblia o Sagrada Escritura a la coleccin de libros que escritos

bajo la inspiracin del Espritu Santo, tienen a Dios como autor, y como
tales libros inspirados han sido entregados a la Iglesia
En la definicin o descripcin de la Biblia, se pueden apreciar ya dos
caractersticas primarias de los libros que la componen:
a) que son divinamente inspirados, y tienen a Dios por autor principal; esto
ser objeto del trabajo sobre la Inspiracin. Se trata de algo intrnseco al
libro y que lo distingue de cualquier otro libro.
b) Y que han sido entregados a la Iglesia: cules son en concreto los libros
que componen la Biblia, y qu criterios o normas han de aplicarse para
reconocerlos, es objeto del trabajo sobre la Canonicidad. Se trata de una
nota extrnseca en cuanto que es la Iglesia la que al reconocerlos como
inspirados los incluye en el depsito de la revelacin.
Actualmente, se conoce que la Biblia es el libro ms ledo (y ms vendido)
de toda la historia, y ha sido traducido a ms de 2.000 idiomas. Es conocido
en los cinco continentes y se lo considera, con justa razn, el libro de los
libros.

En nmeros, la Biblia tiene 1189 captulos, de los cuales 929 pertenecen al
Antiguo Testamento y 260 al Nuevo

The God Book

We call Bible or Sacred Scripture to the collection of books that "written
under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, they have God as their author, and as
such inspired books have been delivered to the Church"
In the definition or description of the Bible, can be seen already two primary
characteristics of the books that comprise
A) that they are divinely inspired, and have to God by lead author; this
will be the subject of the work on the inspiration. This is something
intrinsic to the book and that distinguishes it from any other book.
B) (B) and that have been handed over to the Church: what are in
particular the books that comprise the Bible, and what criteria or
standards are applicable to recognize them, is the subject of the work
on canonicity. This is a note in extrinsic as soon as that is the Church

Currently, it is known that the Bible is the book most widely read (and more
sold) throughout history, and has been translated into more than 2,000
languages. It is known in the five continents and they are regarded, rightly,
