'Jatraa International Culture and Arts Festival'
from 15th January to 22nd January 2012
at Mumbai, India. As Festival Organizers, Rangpuhar
invites groups to participate in this
World Event Extravaganza.
The Festival program will include:
Folk dances and music stage performances
Fair and exhibition for traditional & contemporary art
Showcase of culture through plays, folk dances, classical music
showcases, traditional poetry reading along with the display and
sales of traditional and folk handicrafts
Seminars & Open House discussions on cultures from around
the world
Food Festival of cuisines from select locations around the world

Following is the general regulation & information of the Festival:
General Information:
The Festival Hub will be at City Park situated in Bandra Kurla Complex and at Bandra Fort,
which is located in centre of the City of Mumbai.
Each group is responsible for its own visa and transportation, excess luggage to come to India
and to go home. Check VISA information at the Embassy or Consulate for the Republic of India
in your country or nearest by your country.
Each group is obligated to obey the related staying rule of Republic of India, arriving and
departing India as scheduled. Any violation, the violator and the group should be responsible
for his/her own behaviour.
The group is required to take care of its own medical insurance so as to ensure a healthy and
incident free stay for the group members in India.
Beside the Festival schedule, each group will be given an opportunity to have a Cultural Tour of
the City of Mumbai on one off-day during the Festival's duration. The group will be responsible
for its own incidental expenses for sightseeing on the group's free day.
We strongly recommend the group to bring stylistic folk souvenirs or traditional handicraft of its
country to sell in the assigned booth at the time, indicated by the Festival Organization.
Sometimes, the folk music CD or dance group's T-shirt will be nice as well. All the benefit of this
sale is due to the group itself and the group should be responsible for the outcome of its sale,
as well whatever it is, benefit or deficit.
Groups cannot demand any remuneration for possible photography, filming or recording in TV,
Radio, etc. during their staying in the festival.
Festival Organizer will provide the following:
The Festival Organization may arrange different schedules including performances, press
conference, visiting activities, luncheons and other activities such as handicraft, speaker sessions,
etc, for the participating groups and each group is obligated to attend these activities arranged by
the Festival Organization.
The Festival will provide three meals a day, lodging and local transportation during the troupe
staying at Mumbai. In addition, the Festival will provide transportation from and to Chatrapathi
Shivaji Airport at Mumbai (Airport Code BOM).
The participating group will be provided accommodation from 14th to 22nd of January 2012.
The group will be paid US$5/- as an allowance at a per-person/ per-day basis for the duration
of the group's stay at Mumbai. This amount will be paid to the Group Director

Following is the general regulation & information of the Festival:
Performance Regulation:
Each group is required to present at least three distinctly different acts of 8 minutes each
approximately, with at least two different costumes sets and accompanying music so as to empathize
with the diverse audience.
The participating group is required to prepare each of these programs of 8 minutes of duration each
approximately, consisting of traditional folk music and dance along with a live musical band. This
means the group requires to have collective performance duration is of 24minutes. The dances are
required to be vivacious and highly energetic. The music is to be lively and peppy. We strongly
recommend the group to bring stylistic performances / depiction of their culture.
Besides this, the musicians are required to perform music sequences that are independent of the
dancers. The musicians and dancers are to perform in their traditional costumes, which will take place
in the various locations around the city, in accordance with the arrangement, made by the Festival
Organization.
The participating groups are required to attend the Opening Ceremony held on 15th January 2012
and thus will arrive at Mumbai on 14th January to participate in rehearsals, get briefed, be present at
the Press Conference before the official opening on 15th January 2012.
The participating groups are also required to attend the Closing Ceremony held on 22nd January
2012. Your group must stay at our Festival for the entire duration of the period.
The maximum participants of the group including crews should not exceed 25 persons including
dancers, musicians, group director and staff.

Responses from Groups:
Please reply with your application form and send the required material as early as 31stOctober 2011.
Entries of Groups will have to be (1) a video showcase of each of the acts & (2) detailing of the
reports, attached herewith.
The Festival Organization will confirm your participation with the official invitation after studying all
the information you send.
The acceptance of the official invitation by the group as issued by the Festival Organization will mean
the group's agreement with all the conditions mentioned in this document.
All videos may be uploaded on or any other such video viewing/ sharing portal and
mail us the links of these locations. Alternatively, you may also emails us the group's videos to the
below mentioned address. Kindly note the size of your video to not be very heavy. Should you decide
to mail your videos, you may want to use the service of a site such as that allows
mailing of up to 2GB of content.

culture and folk aspects of Opening and Closing ceremonies for large format sporting events for
the Government of India.
The Brand Solutions division of the company conceptualizes and produces events for corporate

MUMBAI IN JANUARY
January is the coolest month of the year for Mumbai with mean daily minimum being 16.4 C
and mean daily maximum being 30.6 C. The weather is generally mild and pleasant with
daytime highs of around 27 C and night-time lows of around 17 C. The nightly lows may vary
between 10 C and 20 C. Chilly northern winds during the day make the city seem cooler than it
really is. Generally clear skies, with some smog especially in the early morning are the norm.
The days are dry, the nights relatively humid. January is also associated with the deciduous trees
in the city shedding their leaves. 2627 January 2008 recorded a minimum temperature of
10.2 C, which is the lowest recorded in 45 years. Pack for a pleasant weather in the outdoors!
