If you are having problems printing from RPM ("Command Failed" error, "JET VBA F ailed to Initialize" error and "Unable to Initialize DAO/JET DB Engine" error), it could be that you are mi ssing some common files that are required by the Seagate Crystal Reports printing system us ed by RPM. IMPORTANT: The very first test you should do is make sure that you can print fro m other programs! You can try printing this ReadMe file right now. If it fails to print, you have to set up your printer properly. Please see your printer's documentation on how to do this. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Where to Find the PrintFix Files ------------------------------------------------------------------------ If you have your RPM CD all of these files can be found in a folder called "Prin tFix" found at the root level of your CD. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Updating Your Drivers ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Following these steps will update any missing database drivers necessary for dis playing and printing RPM data. If you are still having printing issues please look at the note "Finishing Syste m Check" to determine if your computer has been correctly configured for printing. I. Install the files mdac_typ.exe and jet40sp3_comp.exe: 1. Click to the disc directory Rpm2_2\PrintFix 2. Double-click and install 'mdac_typ.exe'. 3. Double-click and install 'jet40sp3_comp.exe'. 4. Reboot your machine after installing these two files.
II. Install the file PrintFix1.exe: 1. Click to the disc directory Rpm2_2\PrintFix. 2. Double-click and install 'PrintFix1.exe'.
Now that you have installed these necessary files, open your RPM software. Test the print and print preview functions to ensure that your printing issues are co rrected. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Finishing System Check ------------------------------------------------------------------------ If you are still experiencing printing problems after following the above steps, please follow these steps: III. If printing still does not work, run "PrintFix2.exe" 1. Click to the disc directory Rpm2_2\PrintFix. 2. Double-click and install 'PrintFix2.exe'. 3. Try printing again. IV. If printing still does not work, you computer is missing or has incorrect ve rsions of Microsoft DAO Jet engine components. You can run the program "CC.exe": 1. Click to the disc directory Rpm2_2\PrintFix. 2. Double-click and install 'CC.exe'. This Microsoft diagnostic program will identify missing or incorrectly installed components in your operating system. Once you have identified your missing components, you can go to Microsoft.com and download what you need or contact Microsoft's technical support. It may be necessary for you to upgrade your operating system.
