STATIC AND PITOT BLOCKAGES

FACTS ABOUT BLOCKAGES

1. In an un pressurized a/c, cabin pressure is usually slightly lower than ambient
pressure due to air being drawn out by the slip stream.
2. Breaking altimeter or VSI glass in un pressurized a/c will result in cabin
pressure being ed to the casing o the altimeter and the VSI. !"his is not
useul or VSI#.
$. In a slide slip, upwind side has slightly higher static pressure than downwind
side.
%. In a climb, the VSI capsule gets compressed as opposed to e&pansion o
capsule in a climb in an altimeter.
