White Sunday
Most of you are receiving this
bulletin on or just after the
shopping day commonly re-
ferred to as “Black Friday.”
Stores and malls (not to men-
tion parking lots!) are
crammed with shoppers look-
ing for deals on a few choice
holiday items. I hate Black
Friday (except for the football
games that are shown!).
However, how about thinking
of another color and day.
Why not make this Lord’s
Day “White Sunday.” What
do I mean?
Isaiah, speaking for God, told
the people of Israel, “Though

your sins be as scarlet, they shall
be as white as snow; though they
be red like crimson, they shall
be as wool” (Isaiah 1:18). It is
only through the power of God
and the shed blood of Christ on
the cross that we can have our
sins taken away. When that hap-
pens, our souls are cleansed,
and we are as white as snow.
Many have never had their sins
forgiven by the cleansing blood
shed on Calvary. It is through
baptism that we contact that
blood and have our sins for-
given (cf. Acts 2:38). Have you
been washed in the blood of the
Lamb?

but have let sin stain their soul
again. Trying to make their
own way, they have failed to
“walk in the light” (1 John
1:7), and refuse to follow the
example of Christ. Thank-
fully, they remember that only
Christ is the answer and they
need to return to Him.
Why not make this week the
time you do so? Let Jesus
cleanse your soul and make
you clean. Let Him wash your
sins away. Let Him be your
example.
Make this a White Sunday!
